    Thanks for the review Warbeard! The backrest hardware is in fact built in when you purchase that option but the backrest itself is removable. We also sell a Rain Cover as the seat is perforated. Bike is looking solid AF! Thanks again!

      You’re most welcome! Loving every minute of saddle time with this seat! Can’t compliment it anymore than I have or people will start to think I’m lying LOL !!! Yeah, when I had called in to order my seat I had understood that the rider backrest was not removable so didn’t go that route. If I didn’t misunderstand I probably would have purchased it installed lol. Coulda kept it in the saddle bag or what nots for those longer trips.
      I do however keep the seats rain cover in the saddlebags so the riders seat would have had company haha

      Brooo! This seat is a REAL game changer! I did about 700mi this past weekend and felt just fine from miles 1-700. Might have felt EVEN BETTER if I had that riders backrest 😂 Ah well, live and learn.

    I'm looking at ordering one of these for my new Chieftain. Does the Saddleman set you back more than the stock seat. Also, did you have to change the bolts on the rack to round head. Lots of reviews say the stock bolts hit the seat and will wear a hole in the material. Thanks.

These seats are definitely made with miles of smiles in mind! Ride safe and may you have many EPIC ADVENTURES on your new seat of choice!!!

    How long to break it in to where it feels better than a stock seat. I just installed a sofa and it was very stiff. I did a short ride about 106 miles and the first 30 miles where pretty tough the last 30 miles where better. So I see the more you ride the better it gets.
    It looks great on my 2020 Road King.

    How difficult was it to change out your Indian Sissy Bar Pad with the Saddlemen Sissy Bar Pad? I have been told by 2 different people at Saddlemen that it is easy to do and the other guy said it isn't.

  • @roadkingrider6532
    @roadkingrider6532 Před 2 lety

    I love mine. I did learn the only leather on the seat is the area in the LS area. The rest of seat is made with their proprietary material called saddlehyde. Mine came with a cover for washing or when you get stuck in the rain. Might not have one for your particular bike.

      @THEWARBEARDJOHN  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank for stopping by man & glad you enjoyed it! I’m 6ft with bout a 31/32 inseam. I believe the Road Sofa LS on the DH has about a 28” saddle height. I’m flat footed with a bit of crook in the knees even with the floor boards. Far as lumbar is concerned the RS LS has a good amount and you could get the seat made with a removable riders back rest for that extra support for longer journeys or in general if that’s what’ll serve your back better.

    Yours is actually black!! All I see are grayish which is why I haven’t made the switch. Where can I get this tint lol

    • @THEWARBEARDJOHN
      @THEWARBEARDJOHN  Před 3 lety

      Yooo! Yessir! It’s black as black can be man. That grayish on the seats you’ve seen is probably from lack of frequent leather care/treatments, none at all or I’d also guess wrong products used. Could also been knock off seats with sub-par leather used. Most likely it’s the None At All option since A LOT of riders don’t realize that you STILL need to take care of your leathers from gear to bike & they’ll take care of you for generations.
      IF you do decide to make the switch man make sure to let Saddlemen know I sent you to get hooked up with nothing but the best of the best 👊🏻

    Any comment from your passengers? My wife is demanding I replace the stock Harley seat.

    • @THEWARBEARDJOHN
      @THEWARBEARDJOHN  Před 3 lety

      Hey man! Always replace those stock seats first and foremost imo. Majority of stock seats are just made to be super comfy right out the gate so it sells the bike that much easier. Even dealer upgraded seats are better than bone stock but so-so at best.
      With that said I’ve had nothing but good feedback from the passengers I’ve had along for some miles. From a 100lb little brother to a ~190lb bro for about 30-60mi jaunts, either really enjoyed their rides despite not having my suspension set up for passengers for either 😅. They didn’t notice any real bumps or dips etc through canyons and highway. Js that GelCore technology is what’s up & I’d reckon your wife would thank you repeatedly for that upgrade. Saddlemen also makes a matching sissy bar pad to the pattern of your seat too. If you have a sissy bar that is. 💡 GelCore for the Mrs. Back sounds like a great cherry on top to me 💡.
      Hope this helps man & happy EPIC ADVENTURES!

    Am I the only one that hates this seat?
    I bought one last year put 3000 miles on it and it is still feels like plywood wrapped in leather.. I had it reworked by Saddlemen and I can still only ride for a 100 miles before looking for a place to pull over, just pure agony.. I took it off and put the stock seat back on.. so if someone is looking for a road sofa LS with heat and back rest hit me up.
