- This video covers the initial passes and testing of our ProStock truck. The engine was a 580cid Steve Schmidt Prostock motor and we ran a glide trans to save on maintenance. This combination is capable of 6s @ 200+mph with a 5-speed manual trans.

I'm not aware of any sanction that allows Pro Stock in trucks these days. Maybe PDRA would in their Pro Nitrous class but those guys are running way over 800 cubic inches and 3.70's at 202.00 in the 1/8th mile. Maybe this a local track or club association race. Steve Schmidt is a well known engine builder but 580 CI is a unusual engine size for Pro Stock. Nice truck regardless of what class you're running in.
1951RKP NHRA Pro Stock engines are restricted to a maximum 500 cubic inches. It must be a PDRA or a IHRA engine because they don't have a 500 max cubic inche rule like NHRA does.
So I want to do a bbc 454 on my dd 2nd gen s10 blazer but those big rear tires throws me off so bad

We don't have an exact $. The engine was about $50K, $10K for the trans, about the same for the rear end, another $30-50K for everything else, plus the fab time and assembly time which was too many hours to count .. that doesn't include the tools, trailer, motorhome, and operating costs. I don't like to think about the costs!
I know I wish a whole lot racing was cheaper
