She wore lines from the senses
Her ancestors gave her
And broke both her arms
In the honour of industry
And though people wept
At the picture of helplessness
Tears in the flood were a smear in the mud
Well I kiss in the shadows
She calls from the grave
All missing the people gave and then gave
And then went
Old by standard and young by another
Too old for the landslide
That killed both the brothers
For being but a sapling
When they were the oak
And then married by twenty
In the cares can't come
Home is a parable
Death is comparable
We've been pruning your grave
Since the day you locked your door
Welcome today
Deity born by a river
And thought of him daily
It brought but a shiver
And cold in the mornings
We'll step on the dawn
As the days in the saddle
Life more than addled
She drinks for the blood
Of a twopenny bit
Laughs through a tear
As she loses her wits and her wicks - Hudba
Hi wifes name is Beatrice ...google the story about them...I am so enamored with this young man...hes so brilliant and talented and so just himself....everytime I listen to his music, or watch him play and see how humble he is, i wonder how God could only make one creature like him...there truly needs to more men like him...with depth and simpleness. I hope before I die I can see him play. My phrase for him is, all that beauty and talent wrapped up in a brown paper bag.......
Каждому человеку на планете Бог даёт Свою дружбу, любовь и таланты, которые есть в каждом человеке. А ещё Божий дар это семья. И наша задача сохранить Его дары и приумножить.♥️🙏
But if there were more people like him, how would he be that special Johnny Flynn we all love ? ..
One of kind wonderful. Hope he gets everything he wants out of life
Awww Johnny
You are the modern version of
EWAN MACCOLL
Such a thoughtfull
Stroke
Tobacco smoke is always falling around here
No trouble no fear
Just another cross to bear
Here here my dear
Remember how beautifully thoughtfull
To be so near
At the start
Now
How is their
No parts left
Of that love
Not lost but mostly forgotten
At the end of the day
But so easily taken at night
From one another
Always the same
And strangely plain were
Always game for another
A classic.
omg this is just so beautiful i adore this man so much
Thanks John-neee
It's on the Communion Compilation vinyl which came out in 2010.
As much as any song he's written, this evokes a comparison to Woody Guthrie, early Dylan and Leonard Cohen - sweet, simple and powerful.
I love this track I think it has a real nick drake quality to it but still indisputably Johnny Flynn.
I agree with you... I wonder why people like Johnny Flynn are undervalued and "singer" such as Nicki Minaj or Lady Gaga make millions by creating shit ...
A decade late, still a favourite of mine! Is there any other version of it online? I want to check if there was a better quality.
💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖
extraordinary song - why don't these get more of an airing?
Your title has a typo. Should be "In the Honour of Industry."
