FINALLY I GET IT! You have managed to explain how the wide vs long lens, open vs. narrow apertures, zoom out vs. backing up, all interact with each other -- I have never understood their relationship before! THANK YOU!!!!
The best explanation until now, how the field of view works related to the mm of the lens!
I say "wonky" all the time and people make fun of me for it...I have found a brother in arms! Very helpful thanks Mr. Wallace!
This is one of the best videos ever about photography.
Thanks Mark!
... more videos please.

Great Stuff here as always, Mark. Waiting on next weeks video!
Always helps to see how field of view and persoective work. Thanks!
Terrific video which really clears up the wide angle perspective issue. The term that came to mind for me was “relative distance” when you were doing the demonstration with your hand and crushing your head. Good stuff.
كبير يا مارك دايما دروسك حلوة

brianminkc may i ask what you mean by this
Excelent info video .. thanx a lot 🙏
I think it side by side examples would be more helpful than switching them. Also adding the settings in the first images as well.

Hello, may I ask you for help? I still have no idea what lens to buy for shooting pet street photography on Nikon DX. Ofc, I have my 50mm, but I was thinking about something wider? 17-50mm for example? Thank you so much for your help.
Nancy has that look on her face: - hey Nancy, what's wrong? -everything's fine -
thanks for having captions. yes actual captions, not auto translate :)
Good explanation
hi and thank ....so nice it help me so much.. :-))))
the model in this video is very quiet..
I thought the demonstration with your fingers shows Distortion vs Compression. What is your definition of photography "Distortion"?
Full frame or crop sensor?
Small studio = gavin hoey studio is it right mark sir
what canon is he using? I am in the market for one...
Where can I get that mannikin head ?
what lens are yiu using
I love this video. for beginners who wants to buy some lenses; it was a nice test to clear up our mind.
please please make a video for camera bodies as well. new bodies all the time have interview and people compared them... but non of beginners can pay 4000 for a body camera. we need some ideas in budget 😉
well I like to do portrait photography exactly. I can spend till 2500 for body, lenses and basic stuff. I watched lots of CZcams videos but still I don't know what to do as some of videos are clearly a kind of advertising....
can you help me and give me an idea please?
Every camera can make picture and can do portrait photography. Since you have the budget. Then just look into that range of camera n dont bother the rest. Which brand? Get the brand u are most happiest with or have more confident with. Or if the lens you really like or want .. only that certain brand has it. Then it got to be it. Just go for it.
(dont get too focus into what gear.. focus more into how to make a picture) If you dont say. Nobody will know what camera body or brand you use.
Back to the question.. as for camera body.. get a paper.. write down what matter most for you.
Full frame or not.
high fps or not.
etc etc.
Then if that body fits your budget. Go get it.
Once u shoot alot or more.. or few years time. When you know better. You will know better. If just starting out..really. dont confuse yourself. Just go get 1 and start shooting. 2017 now.. even a basic camera can make good photography if you use it properly. But if getting a better one makes you happier, make u get the shot easier or make you more confident. Then go for it ! It's your money.
I want to get my own Nancy. you know where?
Habla tan rápido que me cuesta seguirle, una pena, porque parece un tema interesante, pero no me entero
Time to get to Adorama and trade in your Mark III for a new Mark IV
Wow your not using a Leica it's about time lol!
When he said "I have two friends" I thought he was going to say the mannequin names 😂
Mark:Let me explain you about lenses.
Mark's neighbours:What a weirdo!
Mark wallace is the shizzzznittttt
can i get bokeh with 3.5f?
new photographer here
Nypes idk
good
Yassine Bend youre underrating stuff
Where can I get that Mannequin Head ? It's got good skin tone.
Joel Grimes is another one that breaks the rules and makes great portraits using a wide angle lens or wide end of a zoom.
Compression vs wonky
I feel like a real "Dummy" today.....lol
Nancy seems a bit overly thin. 😝
Damn....Mark....You're really packing on the pounds. Eating all that exotic food from around the world....I see.
