- This is an MK3 version of the "Modular One" Speakers made special for Daniel from the US.
It is used a 10" paper-cone Scan-Speak woofer powered with a D-class power amplifier Hypex FA251 connected via high-level input (acoustic terminals).

They look amazing. How is the Scanspeak Vs the earlier SB woofer?
It is tough to compare 10” and 8”. 10” are way better in each aspect: larger piston area, longer excursion, deeper frequency response, and it looks way more balanced within the entire speakers design. In addition it is Hypex-powered with the DSP which brings extreme level of versatileness at the LF range.
Without hearing it only, these speakers makes my hair stand up and makes my eyes teary. If, if one wanted a subwoofer with these, what would you recommend?
Depending on your room dimensions and the floor\walls materials used. Actually, there are two woofers powered with Hypex in this setup. With correctly tuned via DSP you don't need a subwoofer, but, nevertheless, the more subs in the room the better LF spreading. Maybe any sub below 40-50Hz will fit here well, but, again, depending on your room and its modes.

Are these better?
SB23NRX is a good driver but sealed box needs a driver with longer cone excursion. Also the aesthetics was improved (subjectively) with 10” driver.
