    In my shop we keep a few hoses, you can get a hose like a old water hose and cut it to around 3 feet or whatever you like and take that hose crank your truck and let it idle and use the hose to your ear and move the hose around the engine to locate the exact location you hear the ticking noise and then go from there but it’s a sure way to find any sounds you looking

      I never used a hose before. I’ve used an extension. I’ll try that hose. Thanks 🙏.

    Check the compressor

    Compressor is a very noisy component on isx. Cam and rockers big issue on isx if you don’t keep up with overhead. Do overhead asap and make sure they inspect camshaft and rockers. My isx was very noisy but the one tap that I always heard was camshaft.

    If you’re hearing a rattling sound from a cap check the power steering cap. It rattles and it’s mind boggling on his they can’t make that cap solid like they do the oil cap. I have a Peterbilt 579 with that same rattle

      @@user-zt6bt8dp2c yeah I’ve replaced it once and it did the same thing so I just left it alone ever since

      Good point thanks 🙏. I was trying to hold the cap and listen for it at same time. I wasn’t able to hear it. I have a bad right ear from so only can hear on my left. It’s much harder to listen for it because I can only hear it from certain distance and angle hehehe

    You’re a good DJ and should make money putting beats together to fund your trucking habit. It’s tough out there

    How long do you have to reactivate your authority if you voluntarily surrender it before it is permanently surrendered?

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave Před 3 měsíci +2

      It stays with you forever is what I was told. I started mine in 2018 and put it on hold about 6 months later. If I look my numbers up on fmcsa it still shows up but inactive.

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  Před 3 měsíci

      Yep. As long as you revoke it voluntarily should be an easy process to get back to active. If involuntary I think the process gets a little more complicated.

    If you’re thinking of becoming an O/O don’t do it. There’s to many fees, regulations cost of fuel is to high cost of parts and repairs are also way to high. And with the government pushing these strict emissions and electric will push people out. I will say the only benefit is the freedom but now wondering if it’s worth the stress.
