I will just leave here some interesting facts about this band. Epica's band name came from Kamelot's album with the same name. Alissa is the current Arch Enemy vocalist and was doing backup/guest vocals for Kamelot while on tour together with Elize Ryd which is the vocalist of Amaranthe. At the time they were the opening act for Nightwish.
As mentioned in other comments you will hear a lot about Roy Kahn the initial vocalist for Kamelot and I definitely recommend to hear songs from that era. He left the band for personal health problems. Some of my favorite songs from them are "Center of the Universe", "March of Mephisto" and "When the Lights are Down".

For more Kamelot (who I'd classify as splitting the divide of Power Metal and Symphonic Metal), I'd check out The Haunting (live), Abandoned, When Lights Are Down, Sacrimony, Under Grey Skies, and Phantom Divine.
Alissa is the lead singer for Arch Enemy, a Melodic Death band. For her, I'd check out Nemesis (live), Under Black Flags We March (live), War Eternal, and The Eagle Flies Alone. You should also check out Arch Enemy's previous frontwoman (and current manager) Angela Gossow. For her, definitely check out Nemesis, Ravenous, Under Black Flags We March, and My Apocalypse (all live). Something to note are the differing techniques used by Alissa and Angela. Alissa is a fry screamer which let's her use longer phrasing and be more active on stage, as well as a bit more intelligible for people who are less experienced with extreme vocals. Angela is a false cord screamer, which gives her an incredibly rich... Roar with tons of overtones. However, she needs shorter phrasing and isn't as active on stage. Both are simply exceptional at what they do.

I discovered your channel today, from the G.O.A.T. reaction video. I immediately binged multiple videos. I’m a musical fellow (at least I like to think I’m musical 🙃) but never went to music school or anything, so I’m discovering a lot of new things here. I’m currently trying to learn to play drums; I dabbled a bit in piano and guitar, but I’ve realized that what my soul craves and my body needs is the drums. The first time I listened to G.O.A.T. was a watershed moment for me; Clay Aeschliman has godly skills, and I needed to know the secret... (I think it turned out to be something like 10,000 hours). Anyhow, I love the music on your channel, and I love the format (especially the rambles; I love long rambles about anything interesting) so I’ll most definitely be sticking around...

Arch Enemy actually produced their first ballad in 25 years which is called "Reason to Believe" because they finally had singer with appropriate range to do so (confirmed my Michael the OG guitarist).
Anyway if you want something really different, check out the band called Amaranthe...they have 3 vocalist! I would suggest either their recent song "Helix" to start since you will see the band's style and typical arrangement. If you want to do a second one, checkout the track called "Boom!1". Also "Hunger" is one of my favorite tracks (spoiler they had different vocalists then).

You'd probably love another band similarly epic melodic metal with a much more classical orchestral influence and technical norweigan guitar/piano work. 'Winds - Time Without End'... Andy Winter's piano work is some of the greatest in metal.

    OH
    MAN
Let me tell you about two great "ends the way it begins" albums from two artists I would highly recommend to anybody any day of the week.
High on Fire put out a record called "De Vermis Mysteriis" that is something of a concept album. A little ways in there is a five track story, starting with "Fertile Green" and ending on "King of Days," (both great songs, especially "King of Days") that begins and ends with the same drum beat, and if you've never listened to High on Fire, let me tell you that their drums are rumbling and thunderous, and an absolute delight to listen to when it's just their drummer opening or closing out a set.
The second band is Carach Angren, and they have another concept album called "Where Corpses Sink Forever," which ends the way that it begins. Number one track I would have to recommend from them would have to be "The Funerary Dirge of the Violinist." It is absolutely dark, beautiful, and heart wrenching.

Please check out Sylosis, a thrash/death metal band from Reading, England and a long-time favorite of mine. They do excellent work, and in particular are notable for the incredible riff writing of Josh Middleton, who does the vocals and co-lead guitar, as well as the fact that, until their latest album, all their songs used guitars tuned to E Standard, which is highly unusual in modern metal. I struggle to recommend just a single song from them, so instead, I'll give you a song from each album and you can pick the one you think is the most interesting :)
    Album - Song - Year - Notes - Link
Cycle of Suffering - I Sever - 2020 - Only song I've listed tuned to D Standard instead of E, includes my favorite vocal performance in this list - czcams.com/video/dZDd-MwuvcM/video.html
Dormant Heart - Servitude - 2015 - Manages to get some interesting perception of speed despite its tempo - the fastest-feeling part of the song has the slowest tempo and vice versa - czcams.com/video/9_RT0G4wWKg/video.html
Monolith - A Dying Vine - 2012 - Probably the song I've listened to the most times on this list, main riff is blazing fast and the vocals that accompany it are very quick as well, which is all the more impressive when considering that they're done by the same person at the same time. Changes significantly over its duration, particularly in emotion. - czcams.com/video/4Uol-vZNAt4/video.html
Edge of the Earth - Procession - 2011 - Strongest "groove" out of this list, and has my favorite intro and main riff in the list as well - czcams.com/video/Iz6xlrLKd4M/video.html
Conclusion of an Age - Last Remaining Light - 2008 - From before Josh took over the vocal role; in my opinion the old vocalist wasn't as good as him, so I don't listen to this album much, but the solos in this song are amazing and I still find it a joy to listen to. - czcams.com/video/hMARq1y0PvY/video.html
