I never leave comments on videos, but I just wanted to say that I love your channel and have a Pavlovian response to directly check my CZcams at 1:00 when I hear the local church bells outside my apartment ring indicating the time, and more importantly, that there’s another Garden Answer video available. Crazy, I know, but I live in a small apartment in Cologne, Germany that only has a small balcony, so seeing your beautiful garden spaces feeds my soul and allows me to live vicariously through your aspirational work until the day when I hopefully have a place with a garden of my own. Keep up the good work and please never stop making videos! :-)

That’s what I love about them as well; she is so educated and informed about all plants but not afraid to admit she may not know the exact name or pronunciation of some…or she runs into issues with some plants and trees...it brings a super down-to-earth human feel about them; if that makes sense. 😊

Weirdly I love it when Laura waters in the new plants, it's so soothing to watch. Maybe because I too am from the high desert (Albuquerque) and know how much these plants need big drinks when planted. And GORGEOUS roses in the high tunnel 😍

Have a nice weekend everybody from East Texas! Rain again this morning and will be rainy again thru next Wednesday! I don't remember ever having this much rain cold and cool weather for so long! February was brutal. I lost my 27 year old palm tree and fig tree. I'm so sad. My palm tree was 75+ feet tall the biggest palm tree I've ever seen in East Texas. I've been hugging it everyday praying it would come back but sadly the bark is falling off now and these weird bugs are burrowing into the trunk. There's life coming from the bottom of the fig tree, that's the good news, but I'm going to miss my majestic Palm so very much. Ciao!

Strap your sprayer nozzle to your leaf blower.
Open nozzle to full open .
Make sure end of nozzle in in the center of blower tube. You can probably spray 30 feet up.

It’s really nice that you don’t have to worry about Benjamin being outside. I know he’s not out there alone, but you also don’t have to keep a constant eye on him either. I feel that’s one of the BIG advantages of living in the country. I know you both in some way have him in your line of sight but it’s wonderful he has the freedom to be adventurous, like going into the chicken coop to gather eggs, or walking out to mommy on the new property. I’ve always lived in the country and had my freedom to be adventurous too, with boundaries of course, and I think it has strengthened my love of nature and growing things. So my thinking is kudos to you on being able to provide Benjamin and someday Samantha Grace the chance to grow up country living, being adventurous and learning the ways of nature.💚🙃

Deadlines and the heat of the day are good motivators to get jobs done. I used to have Laura's speed and energy when I was her age, but am finding my body just doesn't like moving that fast anymore at the age of 50. Still, I created a new garden bed, outlined it with stone edgers, and got most of the planting done before June. 😀
oh, to have that space for planting! i live vicariously through you, though, and don't have to worry about the work involved, too ... love Benjamin's independence and that clip of him waving HI is just an image in my brain now: he will get taller and older and still have that walk and that HI coming towards you working in the garden.. what a memory! that's a lot of irontone!! whoa! lol... so, hmm, maybe a broader sidewalk with smaller beds closer to the trees? i like gently curving walkways but that might not work with whatever you have in mind, but a walkway that allows you to "meander" i guess... you'll figure it out, just let it simmer a while on the back burner... a productive couple of hours, for sure! i'm not looking forward to the heat either, but here it comes! thanks for the video!!

Hey Laura! I’m in Zone 7b/8a and I have a gorgeous Carolina Sweetheart redbud in all-out full sun (8+ hrs/day) and it does really well as long as I keep her watered well. My other redbuds actually need quite a bit of afternoon shade though. So if you have a sunny spot where you want to plant your Carolina Sweetheart, I say go for it!

The trunk injection of iron is appropriate for rapid greening. However, it should be followed by soil applications of sulfur and iron. Treating the soil will reduce recurrence of the problem. Trunk injection can be done at any time of the year when the tree is not frozen or under drought stress. I am certain that tree will bounce back without any problem. Good job Aaron!!

Hello everyone! Laura you’re right about the Carolina Sweetheart redbud tree. I bought my last year and planted it in the east side of my house (zone 6). In the summer it wilts with the heat/sun until shade reaches it.
