I think it would have been nice if they had kept them as originally intended, but given the show's constant sexual content, I suppose it was inevitable they were going to write the characters that way
@@naginiriddle7091 Indeed, I agree. Asexuality is very big taboo in American shows, especially in shows where sex is constant topic. There are asexual characters, but it's rarely openly said they're asexual.
In second season, Penny asked what's Sheldon's deal, guys said he probably has no deal. This way, it's almost as show says asexuality is something that needs to be overcome.

Which is basically what happened. She wasn't interested in sex with Sheldon at all until she fell in love with him.

The way Sheldon asked Penny to be a surrogate mother for him and Amy's child had me dying of laughter the first time I heard it. I think out of all of his inappropriate and impulsive remarks, that's one of his best

Honestly the most believable spit-take I've ever seen on screen. Really need to give this show a rewatch. They're all so great, and it's been so many years. I also really like that while the rest of the guys just nervously shrug and joke around, Penny goes out of her way to confront Sheldon about how terrible his idea is because unlike them she both cares and understands that he could end up seriously hurt, confused and heartbroken if things go off the rails with Amy. It's one of those scenes where she sensibly decides to be the adult in the room, not because she doesn't respect the others, but because she legitimately has experience that they sorely lack. Just a great character moment for her.
A bit of it feels forced. Penny isn't drinking her water bottle the whole time, but the moment they need a spit-take, she suddenly decides to take a drink.

but my God, when Sheldon talks about what happened with the progression on the television show heroes it could not of been more prophetic for this show.
I envy that you can finish this because I care so much about the characters and their world from watching it for so long but I absolutely cannot make it all the way to season nine let alone the end.
More power to you for loving more than me but it is unwatchable schlock for me by this point.

One of the things I love about this show is Penny and Sheldon’s relationship
Sheldon is a genius physicist and is extremely knowledgeable in other fields but a complete idiot when it comes to social interaction, relationships ect that’s where Penny comes in. Penny is an expert when it comes to that sort of thing but doesn’t know a thing about mathematics or physics. They help each other and grow to be more than friends but a family.
Yes, it would have been so much better for Sheldon if her sister was half as considerate

She speaks in a very plan and straight-forward way whereas Sheldon speaks in a very hyper-articulate and even meandering way using multi-syllable words-and there's nothing wrong with that,by the way.I always say that if someone has to go look up a word in a dictionary or on Google then that's not the worst thing that can happen and it's a great way for people to expand and improve their vocabulary.
But having said that,sometimes speaking like Penny can the best and most efficient way for people to get their point across.

This scene is one of my top 10 or top 5 funny surprise moments in TBBT, likely because of Penny's reaction when Sheldon tells her about his plans of having a child with Amy. Also because of the familiar interaction and group dynamics which we all know and love so much in TBBT.

God, I remember watching this episode when it first came out, it was so interesting & funny to see Sheldon act differently in regards to Amy. On an interesting note, this wasn’t the first time nor episode where Sheldon stated that a child between him & Amy bearing they’re DNA and genetic material would be intellectually superior and possess genius traits to “lead/guide humanity to a new age” and/or be “the next step in the evolution of mankind”. However, as great and promising as that would sound, there are a few flaws with that theory. Both Sheldon and Amy’s child with they’re combined DNA would create a super-smart child but, as evidence has suggested to the duo in the show, the two of them would've treated their son’s/daughter’s upbringing like one long scientific experiment. Moreover, the resulting upbringing would probably have made their child into someone more like Leonard in personality - extremely intelligent, but plagued by self-doubt and distracted by the constant need to gain the approval of others- not to mention being socially-awkward growing up, possessing a lack of empathy towards others, and have little to no knowledge of pop culture that could impact the concept of ‘fitting in’ and having things in common with people. So, the whole idea of Sheldon & Amy having a “genetically superior” child that would be capable of leading humanity into a brighter future might be possible but also could be a little far-fetched.
Maybe it wouldn't be that bad with Aunt Penny in the equation? XD
