- I WAS SCOURING THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO ADJUST THE HANDBRAKE ON CLIO NEW MODELS (MARK IV OR MARK 4 OR MK 4 MIV). THESE WERE SOLD FROM 2013 ONWARDS. Nowhere did anyone show how to adjust the Clio version or mark IV with 3-cylinder triple petrol turbo engines, or 4 cylinder diesels. So, I did this to help anyone else.
The older models it was always underneath the car - 4 10mm nuts to remove an exhaust heat shield then you could adjust the handbrake cable. This is no longer the case.
After getting this one up on ramps to help someone out, I found it seemed even the French maker Renault would have to be beaucoup masochistic to make people remove 16 weird nut things and then 3 panels minimum and so on...
They now adjust from inside the car, the video shows how. ERRATA note: the screws used ARE 'star' head screws, one of the smaller sizes. I thought torx but said star. The two screws ARE star type, NOT torx.
If you found it useful, please thumbs up.
There's nothing inherently bad or offensive about this free how-to help video. If you felt the need to 'thumbs down' then your reason why is eagerly awaited. If you won't explain yourself, it's cowardice and you can p**s off. It's not as if you paid to watch, and you ain't my boss or director. Finally please remember although you seem anonymous to video makers, you are not anonymous either to google or the government. Your anonymity is entirely dependent on it not being in their interest to reveal their ability to ID users.
Thank you kindly.

Great video, just adjusted the handbrake. The bit size you need is a T20 to remove the screws and a 13mm ring spanner. Remember to bed the brake shoes in first before adjusting. Raise one wheel off the floor to make sure they are not binding. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the vid. Very good. I'm gonna attempt to do ours soon now then
Thanks, Sir. Your video saved me. Thank you very much for your help!
Thanks for the help, will be giving this a try shortly 👌
Very helpfull video ! Thanks !
You really should make sure your wheels aren't binding and of course adjust the mechanism in between brake shoes first, then adjust cable checking for binding as you go.
Great video thank you 👍
Will this be the same on a 2008 Clio 1.2
Thanks
The star bit you were using is called a torx bit
Very helpful, thank you. Yes it's a T15 torx
Thanks a lot Jonny!
