    asking a comedian for scholarly theological answers is like asking him to do c-section on your pregnant wife.

      Well it happens to christians too. If someone practices a religion people expect that person to be informed and I think it's reasonable at least to some degree. He knows about these things more than they do. And secondly people can be informed in topics that aren't their professions, you know. The good commedians are usually intelligent.

      What he said was not an informed answer, it was just a lazy half-ass attempt to just give an answer, for the sake of just giving an answer. Not at all an educated or close to factual information.

    • @MWcrazyhorse
      @MWcrazyhorse Před 7 lety +10

      Murdering the innocent in the name of your religion? Is that the line? What is there to respect exactly? It is funny how, as he sais himself, he does his comedy in America, because the Pakistanis don't like him. So who really has the problem with respect? The way westerners improve is by criticising ourselves as a society, not others. Understand that! And apply it. Respect others. Criticise YOURSELVES. He understands it. He puts 9/11, extremism and teaching children to hate Jews in his material.
      That is good and funny, but can you not see how that could also be seen as disrespectful? By an american or a jew?
      There is not just you. There is also the perspective of others.
      How do you suppose a jew or an american bouncing about in Pakistan would be treated?
      Better or worse than Kumail here?

I thought that was very clever because he could tell too that these white guys no nothing about Muslims. When was the last time you heard Jeff Ross do a Muslim joke? When a black dude comes on they never go this hard on black jokes. Maybe one or two here and there because they know black people and how black people function just like when black people make white jokes but Pakistani jokes? You need to go to England for that. I've never heard about the 'if you look lustly at a women its like stabbing the prophets son in the back'. Then again i'm a Muslim who's sunni, so it makes sense. Also the hosts sucked. They were just trying too hard to make jokes and insult kumail rather than actually connecting with what he's saying on any level. Also, all these passive aggressive remarks were just sad.

      Because the hadith doesn't exist, he just made it up to please his masters. And Kumail is an ex shia Muslim. Never been a Orthodox/Sunni Muslim which is why he shows so much disrespect. I notice the Sunni American comedians will never go that low. But the Iranians, Shias etc will always go low. Gora complex...

Not only are Jews NOT AT ALL "our biggest enemies" or "the ones we always fought" .. no such thing is taught at school etc. In my country religion isn't even a thing in school unless you go to a special school for that... and in the mosque where I took basic koran classes we were told *CHRISTIANS, JEWS ARE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK SO WILL GO TO HEAVEN TOO* ... I'm sure Kumail got taught what he got taught but most Muslims do not believe, teach etc that nonsense.

They can't not talk about it. In other countries, it's just not so important that you're not the same. There's racism everywhere, but it's so American to bring it up all the time as if that solves it. Nope. What solves it is moving past it. It shows great character, the kind that great comedians are made of. Some people in the comments think that it was offensive against Kumail, but that's why he is better then you, he has a chance of being one of the greats because he knows jokes are just jokes while you can't even take a joke on his behalf.

    It seems like the Comedians had it planned to corner Kumeil. It is quite impossible to differentiate between a Sunni and a Shiite Muslim. Even Kumail was surprised, and they never addressed how they made the distinction rather I 'dated someone, no I didn't haha' off-hand joke.
    Also, Kumeil does not know anything about the religion, one of the FUNDAMENTAL thing between Sunnis and Shiites is who the successor would be, Kumeil here states 'it was between the son-in-law and nephew, which is false, as THEY IT WOULD BE THE SAME PERSON. Like dude, no way you can get that wrong, but you did.
    Plus I have never heard the 'stab Prohpet's nephew in the bank when looking at girls' analogy.
    As someone who is a Muslim and from the same background, this interview seems as bizarre as it gets, not only do they gang up on him, and make a very impossible to get distinction, but also Kumeil here gets everything about the religion's aspect dead wrong.

This is brilliant as it showcases what is unique about each comedian, and then they take pot shots at each other, and then showcase their insights. Very clever.
