- In this video we venture our on our second camping trip of the season and visit Emily Provincial Park in Omemee, Ontario. We stayed for 2 nights in our Clipper Cadet 16CFB in the Circle Campground on site 253. But we were there with some other couples and families, so I've also shared a quick look at sites 252, 254, 255, and 245.
I hope you enjoy the tour of the park and get some inspiration for activities or things you can do while you're there!

Emily offers car camping in four campgrounds. The Hilltop, Hill, and Circle Campgrounds offer many large, private and grassy sites that can accommodate various types of equipment ranging from tents to large trailers. Many of the sites offer electrical hookups.
Cedars Campground offers private tent only sites. Sites in the Cedars Campground are non-electrical.
Great family camping experience
Located in the heart of the Kawarthas
Excellent fishing opportunities
Boating and paddling on the Trent Severn Waterway
Fantastic fall camping and colours

Newbies! I love it. Look forward to following your adventures
Thank you for sharing the beautiful VLOG ❤️
My pleasure 😊
Awesome video! Cool Truck! 🛻
Thanks!
That's a great adventure. The park is not crowded and the grocery store is nearby that makes it a nice outing. Enjoyed it.
Yes it was definitely not too crowded which we enjoyed
Struggle is real but you two seem to handle it very well. Just seeing you hassling with how much work you are putting for the van, it makes me more and more impressed. How beautiful to be in the future though!
It's so nice to be out in nature - the struggle is worth it!
Very cool that you are getting used to camping! The more trips you take, the more you will become a pro. Good to know the trail is pretty accessible in most parts. But thanks for pointing which trails weren't accessible. Oh gosh, mosquitoes love me so good warning on that too. I love the beach area to watch the boats launch off.
Great setup, i wish I have all those setups you have. Thanks for sharing the great content which keeps motivating the viewers and travelers like us.
Thanks for watching!
Camping at EMILY PROVINCIAL PARK
So beautiful place.
Love that logo! What a sweet rig. Definitely a fun way to travel. Cool griddle too! Love cooking like that! The park looked like a great spot to explore. What a great size group to be with. Moose POOP 💩!
Thanks! We are loving camping and exploring so far 🙌
Well narrated all things that need to know abt the place. Good place
for camping plus the beautiful view. Another successful adventure for you guys.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a great tour of Emily Provincial park. Thank you for taking us a long with you! Hopefully we can make our way to Ontario some day.
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support 😊
The park looks beautiful. Great spot for camping. The struggle is definitely worth it for an aging and peaceful experience. Convenient that they had a camp store. The view from the beach looks gorgeous. Mmm pork! I love camping food.
Camping food is so good!! We ate a lot this trip 🤣 we enjoyed this park too, but have some even nicer parks booked later this summer
Back for a second round. Looking forward to the future camping Journeys.
Thanks for your review! We took our daughters to Emily PP several years ago for a Girl Guide canoeing camp. Didn't get a chance to look around that day, so nice of you guys to show us what's there!🙂
It's a nice park... mostly geared toward families and younger kids I would say.
This is exactly the type of video I was looking for! Great info thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome provincial campground. Not as busy, good facilities, lake and large camp sites. Having with a small town close by for groceries and booze is definitely a plus. Thanks for sharing it. Hi from Kelowna. Cheers, Eddie
Yes we liked that there were amenities nearby and the park was quite well kept - definitely recommend!
Awesome tour and so beautiful nature around! Pretty cool views! Thanks for sharing! Have a great day my friend👍🌸
Thanks so much!!
Nice camping great adventure , I like hiking 🚶♂️and beer 🍺
Us too!
@5:58 those meat looks really nice. Thanks for sharing this great tour.
Thanks for watching 🙌
What a beautiful scenery, fantastically edited and narrated this gorgeous video. Green surroundings is just mesmerizing.😍😍
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it :)
Great job on the video. Looks like a nice provincial park. I haven't been able to get out camping yet this year. We do have one camping site booked for the beginning of August in New York.. We are looking forward to that. Keep the videos coming, I really enjoy them.
Thanks so much! We are really enjoying camping so far. Hope you have a good time in August.
Wayne says to get an electric crank if ya can! 😀 "Polly Pocket", lol! Yay for ice cream! Wayne loves himself a breakfast sandwich; he makes them almost every day! It looks too pretty to be buggy, haha! Nice looking beach area. We wouldn't want to be that close or "open" to our neighbors unless we were with them, like y'all were 😇
We think we will upgrade to an electric crank next year now that we've given the arm-strong one a good go 🤣 we don't need to do arm work outs if we go camping every weekend.
Sounds like a good plan! 💪
Lol, thanks for the moose poop warning! I love how you are now in a whole crew of campers and are becoming more professional with each trip out. Good luck on your journey to all of the parks!
Yes gotta watch out for poop. We are definitely working to learn as much as we can.
This looks like such a peaceful spot to camp. You really had amazing weather for your time there. Handy that they had a store there and the boat rentals look like a great activity to take part in. Mmm your breakfast looked great! The brewery is a great day out - trying local beers, what more could you want? 😋
It was a great spot to camp, and I really liked the camp store with all of the basics just in case you need them! And loved the brewery excursion
Woohoo for a second successful trip 🙌 that griddle looks like a great option for cooking.
I like that you highlighted what to do in the surrounding areas. Having breweries nearby is always a plus for us 🍻
You know we love our breweries too! 😂🍻 Cheers!
Looks like it was a fun trip, guys! Emily Provincial Park looks really nice! Looks like you guys are getting the hang of camper van life more and more each day!
It was! And so far we are loving it :)
Its so close to home. Love the video
Yes it's great! Not too far.
Great to see your second trip was a success. Love the name Polly Pocket! Your breakfast griddle looked so good 😊 looks like you had lovely weather for your exploring.
Thanks so much! 😊Haha I love to name our vehicles and since she's so tiny I thought Polly Pocket was fitting.
Nice that you can go out exploring in the surrounding area…obviously love that there are breweries close by 😅
Great tour of the campsite, the beach area must be so nice in summer time!
Always nice to go camping with a group of people 😁
The beach area seemed like it would be lovely in the summer - probably some big fish in there - but I don't like to think about that 😂😬 Thanks for watching!
I actually like your reviews..you ACTUALLY show the facilities...which is what I wanna see . Maybe some of the local attractions would be nice...breweries...restaurants other things. What I don't want to see is a long boring car ride..or what you are making for breakfast or supper ..if I wanted a cooking lesson I would go else where..I wanna see the park ..which is what you do...thank you
Thanks for the feedback!
I live pretty near here - there is a beautiful hike just 5 mins from the park (Emily Tract - just put it in GPS). It's about 45 mins, a good workout, and really, really pretty. Thanks for the park tour! I've been wanting to go and now I will for sure. :)
Oh that's good to know - we will probably go back to Emily this summer so I'll add that to our things to do while we are there! It's a nice quiet park - not "wild camping" by any means, but there are some nice private sites.
@@TheAverageTourist Also check out Trip Taco truck, about 15 mins from Emily :)
That looks like a great place to stay! 😁👍 I think you guys are becoming real camper van people! 😊
Yes we are definitely trying to be camper van pros!
Thanks for your helpful video! Planning on a trip there in the fall…
Awesome, hope you have a great time!
You may not know but the water hoses bend! Just pull a little harder and that hose would reach right over to your fresh water fill! Happy trails!
We were camping newbies and had so much to learn at that point 🤣🤦♀️
Nice video! Keep it up!
Thanks!
The provincial park looks really clean and peaceful. And glad that they have complete amenities for RV (water refilling, etc). I remember when we rented a campervan here in New Zealand, and you have to refill water too. But it was a fun experience. The toilet looks descent as well. I love the tour you gave us on the park, the place seems like a huge place as well. A good place to be with nature. I reckon the beach would be better on summer too.
It was a great park and definitely a nice one for families and kids. Refilling water is very essential - don't want to run out!
I seen you guys struggling to get your water hose out. You need to toss that big hose and get a Zero G 25ft 1/2 diameter hose available on Amazon. It's just folds up you might see it on a few of my videos. Also when you pack your bulkheads put your water filter and hose in last for easy access when you arrive.
It seems like we are doing a few of the same places this year, Grundy Lake, Lake St. Peter and I'm doing Emily this weekend. I still need to do Lake St. Peter, Bonnechere and Oastler Lake this year.
That's a great tip, I'll definitely share that with my husband to check out on Amazon. We have had a few times where the hose just wasn't cooperating. And since then we've started to put the water filter in last to make it easier... we're still beginners 🤣. Hope you enjoy Emily and Lake St. Peter. We really enjoyed both parks.
And I'd love to get to Oastler and Bonecchere... hopefully next summer!
I dont do camping but lots of tips and info for beginners
Thanks! We are learning
Soo beautiful 😍
Thanks a lot 😊
It's actually on Pigeon River.
Ah yes! I figured that out after :)
You know the water fill is spring loaded and you pull it down right ?
Yep! We figured that out 👌
Is that a GMC Canyon you're towing with? If so how well does it do the job for a trailer that size?
Yes, it's a diesel and does great. With the trailer and truck fully loaded, it's only half of our payload and towing capacity. And we added after-market towing mirrors, which makes it even better for towing the trailer.
@@TheAverageTourist Thanks for the reply. If only I'd bought the diesel version your answer would have helped me out. We're looking at Emily Park for August. We usually take 3 camping trips per year but have never been to Emily before. Right now we're using a pop-up but considering something like your camper there or a little bigger. It's nice hearing testimonials so I thought I'd ask. I think the rated capacity of the gasoline Canyon is 7,500. Do you know the weight of your camper there? Thanks and happy camping
Our camper is ~2800 unloaded and ~3400 loaded. It's 18.5 feet bumper to hitch so pretty small.
Smoking meat over night while camping? Not worried about bears or setting the forest on fire?
No lol the reason why ppl dont swim there cause that lake is full of mussels that are Sharp and the water is dirty
