Being the last driver is easy. You do the same as the one in front of you, just a lil bit faster. You have a good speed reference in front, he doesn't.
That's precisely why he's at the rear, you dont want your buddies to go past their comfort threshold and end up wrecking

I can see a Mirage being very good for touge
Mirage are perfect car for touge, in Malaysia we have them called as Proton Satria(Mirage Hatch) and Proton Putra(Mirage coupe) were widely used for track,street,drag and touge due to their nimble lightweight body, lighter than a Civic and cheap too
We race them as a huge category in Australia, really good cars with the 1.6 dohc or the 1.8
Don't know about this case but there are people out there putting EVO parts in a Mirage, and yes, including complete drive train swaps. Some people just prefer the coupe look.
