  • This project is an homage to my father, the greatest engineer I've ever known.
I wanted to build a special for him to express my gratitude for everything he gave me and taught me.
Inspired by the first two Fallout games, I aimed to design something unique, which resembles some "old - modern technology" or a relic of the old times you'd find in a post - nuclear war - landscape.
Brass, steel and real glass, were used for fabrication.
As for the tubes, I ordered 6xIN-14 and 2xIN3 Soviet-era Nixie tubes from Ebay. It took me about two weeks to 3D model everything, one week to draw the schematic and route the PCB, couple of days to solder all the components and a few weeks to assemble everything.
When I finished, I had about 8 hours of video footage which I compressed into this video. I hope you'll enjoy watching.
    Thanks Dad !

Huge respect from an old french engineer. I can measure the stack of creativeness, patience and know how to design and build this magnificient object. Some will see a waste of energy to create a clock but this tis the definition of passion. Thanks for that. Congratulation!

Such a humble guy, gave the credit to his dad, that, in itself, is awesome..... proud of him for that....

Fuckin' A. This guy should get 1 million subs (per month). Kinda possible to achieve too if only CZcams would recommend this instead of shoe boxes openers and fake dumbasses.
Absolutely insane the skill level and commitment. Kudos

Stumbled across your channel and this build. Don’t know you or your father, but I have to believe as an engineer he would be very proud of your design, attention to detail, fit and finish, and quality of your video presentation. Very well executed!

You should start mass producing this. Maybe do a kickstarter. I would back you no matter how you decide to go with this
