In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

I can't get over the fact how many little talents Nick has, and they almost never let him win tasks.
Just a guy with nice thighs, who can jump pretty high, can do magic tricks without looking, write songs on a spot and probably many more I forgot about, or I simply don't know about. It hurts me each time his attempts fail one way or another
It's funny that both he and John have a high number of talents, yet they're on complete opposite ends of the scoreboard
You dont really need to look for that magic trick, its just holding the knots in your hand.

Nick's Assistant's Day song is up there with Nish and Mark's Always Seeing You Do Cool Stuff.
Every so often we get to see a contestant (or contestants, in the case of The Diverse Stripes) genuinely nail a music task to the point where everyone (Greg included of course) just stop in awe at the legit musical talent. I'm so glad we got to see that with Nick.
Well, it is quite good anyway. I genuinely thought "Cool Stuff" bordered on being radio worthy. "Assistant's Day" does not enjoy that same border. Nice, though.

yeah, on the show i couldn't understand why he scored as well as he did, but i see it now.

Glad to see Alex got to show everyone in the studio how he thought the massive plank he invested in might be used for the live studio ball-bouncing task - and showed it so well in fact, he infected Greg with a childish joy and made him try again, as well. Beautiful. 😄
Instead of champions of champions, can we have a show/season with just people who’ve lost their season? We need to see more of Nick! He’s so sweet and so talented and deserves another round in the spotlight!

The question now is, was this the last part, or were ther enough Outtakes from Episode 10 alone to warrant a fifth part? Either way, love how giddy Greg got to have a go at the live task 💌

Have you seen the Spanish version of Taskmaste? It seems like they don't edit it down at all and the episodes last like three hours. I personally think it gets old really fast, but maybe "weirdos like you" would like it.

Nick's magic trick is genuinly impressive! doing that without even seing it requires skills, and I honestly can't work out how he does it. (if you do know, please don't tell)
He does it by... practice. And careful use of his hands. He's something of a magician, so it wasn't a skill he learnt on the spot.

Yay, more outtakes! I think Greg and Alex should try all the stage tasks, and we should get to see them. (I know that's not going to happen.) Nick is really a multi-talented guy, which only adds to his great likability. His entire rope trick was good - Penn & Teller need to watch their backs - as was his song. I'm glad we got to see both in the outtakes.
I think we're still missing Alex's banter section for episode 9.
I need to know! it must be so bad if they haven't released it!
I think Nick's Assistants song is one of the great Taskmaster Songs, maybe top 5, but Rosalind's a fuckin Nightmare is up there
I actually find myself humming “Rosalind” from time to time - it was anthemic!
Both of the songs during that task (fucking nightmare and good enough) were awesome. But like you, I have an ear for Rosalind and sing it all the time, lol.
I find it weirdly cathartic to sing along to.
Specific-lay gets me every time 😂

I'm watching Nick's assistant's day song for the third time and I've only now noticed that he puts a keyboard on top of the piano keys.
I'm in love with the idea of Dracula doing stage magic. Also, Nick is clearly a wizard.

Not that there's a particularly *bad* season, but series 17 is just fantastic all around
I'm now disappointed they didn't show the show of Nick's magi trick on TV! That was so much better there then what was broadcast!
At least it seems like the full version is what was shown to Greg and the studio, so he was judged based on that. (Since you could hear light giggling from the audience during this clip.)

Nick is just ridiculously multi-talented, I urge you to look him up on 8 out of 10 does countdown were he does the card trick, I usually don't like magic tricks but that was amazing.

Nick's song wasn't really an outtake so much as they just wanted another excuse to play it.
The little bit of them chatting after the song ended was not in the broadcast episode.

Love seeing the full footage of unedited tasks. Seems like a lot of Nick's went long, but that song was something else.

I went to a recording of the next series and it was great! There was a brief Q and A and someone asked which task was the most expensive. Apparently, it involved a remote control spider and absolutely no-one could recall it!
I'm going to miss this cast.
I did wonder why there was no "Alex Intro" moment at the start of episode 9. Was it because of "Gramps"? lol
I think the "gramps" bit was from episode 8 with the mannequin. I haven't seen anything that looks like an intro for episode 9.

The magic and the song were in the show, but cut down to a shorter form, I believe.
The song was the same in the broadcast version, but the banter afterwards was cut (7:29 - 7:50). The magician bit was massively cut (no pun intended), 1:05 - 2:17 was all cut except him saying Daniel Paul.
The “Assistants Day” song almost brought tears to my eyes. Yes, I’m serious. 🙈

It's probably too long for this, but Nick messed up the first round in the studio task of episode 8, and it was funny. The category was animals, and he had N. He wrote 'nice sheep,' then 'nombat' (not numbat, I think), which had some funny reactions. Joanne wrote 'Ursula,' but I think they said that actually is a real animal.
