- As we transition into Fall, the fishing outlook keeps getting better and better! Shrimp are everywhere in the marsh and the Speckled Trout are certainly taking advantage. Tight lining a jig (corkless) can be a very effective way to put fish in the boat when they are schooling up on shrimp. The bite is fast and furious and there are plenty of undersized fish to weed through, so keeping it simple and maximizing the time your lure is in the water is the name of the game right now. And of course, one of the main ingredients are birds. How to catch speckled trout, how to catch redfish, artificial lures, louisiana speckled trout and redfish, red drum, hopedale fishing, marsh fishing, swimbait for trrout
Weather App I mentioned is called "Windfinder"

One of the most 'real' fisherman I've seen.
Seeing the birds diving and having trout or reds under them Feels like God’s way of patting you on the back for doing something good!
I wish the cameras picked up more. It’s pretty awesome watching a shrimp jump out the water and a bird catch it mid air.
As a red fisherman mainly, I still have a hard time passing up a trout bite that is relentless like that! Cool video brother
@Jar_Fishing So TRUE!!
thats serious action. Great video. you ever need anything holler. Looks like an avocado matrix. Thanks for supports
Thanks Chas! I can’t deny it…Avacado Matrix has certainly been putting in serious work all summer with results. Much appreciated.
Nice fish,Jar. Went with a buddy yesterday and we only found a few fish but the one speck I caught was 19 in and slammed the Shaker(glow with chartreuse tail)and I initially thought I had a gaff top. LAWLF agents at Rigolets Marina wanted to examine our fish and they told us they checked a guide a few days ago and he had 75 specks. Think just matter of time before specks invade Pontchartrain Basin. Typically by Teal Season we start nabbing decent specks. Thanks for sharing ya video.
Good report!
Stock up for Christmas!!
Nice bird fishing Jar, 🤠
Thanks Lud!
Now that's a fishing trip I am looking forward to when the wife and I move down that way. New sub here, I like the way you get right into the fishing and teach as you go. Keep the videos coming and I will keep on watching.
Much appreciated!
My son and I recently got introduced to you and your page. Love the content and would love to go fishing with you!
Thanks Adam! Glad y’all are watching.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Great video. As always.
Thanks Ken
All Access brought me here
Good video and nice recap at the end. Keep ‘‘em coming.
Nice! I like the way you show the lures, mention the line/leader - all good info! I also appreciate you sacrificing a few trout bites to keep us viewing the action!
Awesome as usual Jar! Great bite, looks like a great fall is coming! Thanks for all the tips and techniques and thanks for taking us along!
Thanks James. I appreciate all your support.
Great video! I like your approach and technique!
Thank you!
Are you on Instagram and/or Facebook?
@@stuartcaulder5503 I am but don’t post much. My Instagram handle is @jarsays
Awesome watching you fish bro!! I feel like I’m catching em myself!
Thanks Carey
Great video Jar!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
Great video.. how do you use a swivel to connect your braid to your fluorocarbon?
No swivel. The knot I use to connect the leader to the main line is called a “uni to uni” or a “double uni.” Thanks Adam
Appreciate you changing out those GoPro batteries while the feast was going on! I fished big flock of birds today. Didn’t hook up with anything. I wonder if i was too slow and behind them. Water was super deep. Like 35 feet. Win some, lose some. Beats mowing the lawn
No doubt. Seeing the shrimp seems to be the key right now.
Ok this is three in a row! What bird app are u using to know where they are!! Lol Great Video!
Lol. Thanks Rudy. The birds keep bailing me out! This is the first year I’ve paid this much attention to the birds and it’s because I’m usually chasing redfish during the summer. This strange year has pushed me out of my usual pattern a good bit.
Love me some fishing under the birds, but I'd sure be tempted to throw my cast nest for them shrimp 😅. Anyway, what is your recommended length at the end of your braid. Does if make a difference?
Exactly what I was thinking lol.
I start with my leader around 6ft and change it once it gets to around 2ft, but it usually gets knicked up after a couple trips and I go ahead and change it out. I honestly don’t think it matters that much for the fast action type of fishing in this video. I get a lot more serious about my leader when I’m throwing jerk baits for big trout.
One question, what type and size braid is your favorite for trout and slot reds? Mainly for your jigging and jerk bait fishin?
Usually 30lb Power pro. I like the 20lb too because of casting distance, but the 30lb seems to stack on a baitcaster a little better and doesn’t cut down into the spool as much.
Why is yr avacado soft plastic pink?
Not sure. Probably mostly because I’m using cheap cameras and don’t have the settings right.
@@Jar_Fishing lol, good to see someone catching trout!
So the birds eat the shrimp too?
Absolutely. Pretty awesome to see a gull dive-bomb and catch a shrimp skipping across the water
Those schools are moving quick
Great reaction time brother! wish we had water here in S C Texas. Appreciate your approach my friend
Thanks Tim. It has been a strange summer for sure. I hope your area gets right soon.
Another great trout/red video but you almost had to re-title it “Trout’s Revenge” as they tried to steal your favorite weapon! Don’t think they don’t know who you are.
If it would have been a redfish, that would have been the end of that one.
