maria is amazing. she's one of the smartest comedians out there, she's the closest this thing, standup, ever come to art.
I met my wife through a personals website, Yahoo in fact. Neither of us was there thinking about getting married when we started to see each other, but we started to talk to each other during recharging time.. One thing led to another and now we have been married for 17 yrs, and I find new things about her every day that makes me love with her even more! I truly believe that out love is a real miracle. Miss Bamford, you keep doing your standup, and I will keep laughing.

Love the premise and the editing! Seems to dwell in self-awareness. Bamford's comedy is often in-facing so this was groovy.

This is a perfect vehicle for Ms. Bamford. I imagine that she is like this 24/7, but I could be wrong.

as someone incredibly insecure and anxious and constantly down about myself and my failures, its a little unnerving seeing it reflected back at me through maria but its also a little inspiring to see how brave she is to be so vulnerable in front of countless strangers. thanks

I love Bamford so much. She's an amazing depressed comic.

I can see the sadistic stand-up comic when he thought of this idea... Oh I'll take away exactly what helps me do show and see if I can fly with no front windshield on the plane that I'm flying way up in the sky. It's a great idea

The editing is... well the TV audience won't get most of the jokes.
She falling down the steps was rich.
This would be much more interesting if we could watch it in silence too. Seeing and hearing the audience kind of kills the whole point.
Maria's released one special where it was just her doing her routines in her living room. She can do it.
It seems a lot more poignant and looks a lot more insane in silence.

bad premise
what an absolutely strange and pointless gimmick.
Maria is great, but this is a bad idea for a show. There's no point of having everyone watch what's supposed to be a live, interactive performance on a screen. At the very best, you just get the most basic, rehearsed version of their set with no adjustments based on audience reactions. If you bring up something that's kind of touchy and there's a lull in the audience, you have to address it. If a joke bombs, you have to address it. If you don't, you're just left with this weird, awkward energy in the room. It makes the comics look sub-par and the audience doesn't benefit. This is like doing stand up in front of a mirror or a webcam.
Also, the edits suck. When I watch stand up, I never want to see the face of an audience member. I know it's a short cut for editors to show some audience reactions, but it always takes me out of moment of the show, even more than a the fact that I'm watching it through a screen already does.
