Invest in a grass cutter/ mower if you can. Yard maintenance is needed to avoid snakes or rats..
A mower is unsuitable because of the rough sloping ground, a strimmer would be better imho.

I would suggest a strimmer ( weed wacker) for that large grass. If you get a good one with different attachments, you can cut down bracken, bushes, branches, grass, etc, and they are easy to use, and no muscles are required. Have a look at one at least and see if you think it may be better than a mower
Still a beautiful country home with lots of natural nature and all your family around. Just regular maintenance needed. You need a weed wacker for the tall grass and a regular mower for cutting the grass on a regular basis so they don't over grow.

The veggie garden is growing well, not as well as the weeds obviously, in fact the only thing that spreads quicker than weeds is chismas!
I seem to recall that you hired a guy with a strimmer/weed whacker previously to clear around the house. Perhaps hire him again or get a strimmer of your own if it works out cheaper in the long term. But only use the cable until you are sure there are no stones in the undergrowth otherwise the metal blade could be broken or throw stones at the house, car or people, causing injuries or damage.

MJ, just cut (mow) the grass lower. Please do not use pesticides. The yard will not look good with just dirt. With grass the appearance of the property is enhanced.
This little girl is smart. However, kids should not be taught how to discriminate kids who are not smarter than anyone. This is becoming an issue. It's like saying I'm smart and you're not. Or I'm pretty, and you're not. So you sit at the back of the bus. Teaching kids like this is not good 😢. It's happening all over the world. Bullying.
So you think they should be held back so no one feels bad. Let her be challenged.
Its true that kids can have different abilities, how we value them should not be based on that. There is nothing wrong with being positive without adding that others are dumber. Rather teach them to use their talents to uplift other kids. In the "real" world things are not always ideal however, it's quite often people are valued for being smart or pretty. A tough world for those less fortunate in those regards. All we can do is think about being unconditional lovers more of the time.
Just borrow some goats from your neighbor. They will eat all the grass.

MJ . I think you really won’t need a lawn mower . You can just buy those weed cutters that will trim the tall grass . You’ll be able to preserve the grass covering ( even if they’re weeds) & maintain the greenery . It will also lessen the dust 😊
it's such small areas of grass, I recommend getting a WEED EATER, A gas one is better than a electric keep that in mind. your garden is so beautiful, you can pull up video online to see how it operates.. good luck and I hope you will consider my recommendation, salamat my friend. Pesticides are Chemicala. Try to stay away from Commercially produced cleaning agants, theyre all loaded with Chemicals. Just use Vinigar and Baking Soda to clean household stuff and even in washing clothes. Try to be safe, esp you have a kid around you.

Hi deetl. It seems you have a bit of sway with MJ …. On another post here I mentioned a suggestion for her to buy extra water containers while it’s rainy season or to look at digging a well on her property as well… if you have sway with her do you think that you could relay those suggestions?

Pesticides are used to treat pests/bugs (cide, meaning to kill). Razzle probably was referring to herbicides, used to kill, if not inhibit the growth of weeds and unwanted grass
MJ, you said you ordered an electric "mower". Is it an actual lawn mowet or is it a string trimmer (Weed Eater)? The string trimmer is meant for trimming edges, like along the fence line, around the house or edges of sidewalk or driveway. A string trimmer is not meant for larger open areas because the results will be uneven.
Have you thought about a string trimmer for the grass we call them “ weed eater” works really well for tall grass. They have both gas and electric.
The only downside from us the viewers is that what we see is all the opposite. Just confusing at first. All of the right side are now on the left side. Just trying to get use to it.
Hello MJ, you mentioned you like to learn how to cook new cuisine . Surprise Robbie by learning how to cook Paella. When you have perfected it & you have the budget, get the paella pan but for the mean time you can just use a skillet. I think he loves paella & that will make him happy & so is his tummy😋

Your eggplant needs dry chicken manure fertilizer to sustain its growth. You could mix dry chicken manure with water and use it to water all your plants
I've heard that chicken manure is the best thing you can give any of your pants. My friend had chickens and sometimes she would bring me her chicken poop that I fed into my natural compost pile.
MJ the electric lawnmower that you bought I don’t think it’s gonna cut that grass. It’s too high, but you got rocks and you got sticks. Should’ve just bought electric whacker that your better choice I would cancel that lawnmower and buy our Weedwhacker.

Your caption......you didn't say what happened to the house, you only showed the yard with all the bush. There's an easy solution to that, just pay a landscaping company every 2 weeks to take care of the yard and you would be surprised of the results, maintenance is key. The forest according to you will bury your sister's house as there is almost no decent walkway to her house. Build an outside shed so she can put away all that stuff and her surroundings will look much neater. Just my solution as I'm not sure a lawnmower will work well in your yard, it looks uneven and lots of rocks around. BTW, that is too much hard work for Papa.

Maybe if you like the greenery around just buy a Weed Eater/Whacker/Trimmer to cut them down shorter from the tops without mowing. Your hardware store might have them or online. Different types. We have the battery charged kind. No limits on distance like with electrical cord. I think they have gasoline type too.

Do you have any neighbors with goats? Borrow them for a day and tie them up in the tall grass. They will clear it for you.
If you use herbicide then it might affect your garden too since it soaks into the soil.
You could get a trimmer, we call them weed whackers in US, and dad might be able to use that to cut everything down.
In your room, a good place to put a mirror is on the backside if your door. You can put a nice big mirror directly on the door and no one sees it since it is on the back. It is only visible inside your room.
You may not want to get rid of your phone. Not only is it a phone, but if your camera breaks then you have yoru phone as backup. You also could hand it down to your sister. Just a thought.
And as always….. I still advise you to at least research what it woul cost to put in your own deep well. This way you arent reliant on others for water.

MJ , get a weed whacker BUT do not use the string, get the 3 bladed steel blade for light brush. It will cut grass too but you will not have to constantly fuss with the string getting broken and replacing it all the time. Its what we use here on our land. The blade will even cut small saplings. They also call them trimmers or brush cutters. You MUST buy the straigh shaft model like the Stihl FS 56 RC-E Trimmer. Or it wont allow the blade to be installed. The blade is called the STIHL 41107134100 Thicket Knife 300 Carbide blade.
You need a goat to take care of all the vegetation. They eat every thing.

I’m sure MJ would love having a yard like Robbie’s family. Who wouldn’t, right? It’s gorgeous and almost immaculate, well-groomed and well-maintained. It takes more than one person to have a place smaller. Imagine how much more for the size that his family has. His uncle has a greenhouse, so I imagine he’s actively involved in the raising of the flowers and vegetables. Robbie and siblings, too, I imagine. MJ loves gardens, but she has admitted before that she doesn’t have a green thumb and has always depended on Papa Tony to do the gardening, as well as other chores, for her. As it is, just keeping the wild grasses and bushes trimmed is a challenge for her. She wanted to plant flowers like bougainvilleas around her fence ~ and put caps on those chain link posts, which I don’t think has been done, either, before the rainy season began. Lots of yard chores for a young lady whose interests are diverse but do not include outdoor/yard work and landscaping 😅

I need to mow my yard at least once a week to keep it a medium length. Try to get a landscaper to cut your grass short. You will need a normal lawnmower and a grass trimmer to keep it shorter after it is cut shorter by the profesional landscaper.

Just get a lawn mower and a weed wacker for the taller grass.. don’t put pesticides. Not good for anyone and the land. Plus the grass will look nice and keep the dust down. Best of luck.
