    I've seen a few people have issues with their first flight due to the controller not being calibrated properly.
    Therefore I'd recommend new drones owners calibrate the controller as well, before their first flight.
    And immediately after take off check that your controller actions correspond with the response of the aircraft, ie : up, down, forward, back, yaw left & right, sideways left & right.

    Thanks for the video content great all around. My question is maybe some feedback, from subs about how it's going I know who wants to come back to youtube, once you fly it for the very first time, (you dont want to go back inside lol) I get this, Iam going to be ordering the rugged pack kit, a few skins, but hey i want to really get going with this, and perfect it in time. if you do anymore videos i`ll be there, so many on here just do a test run and dont know what it even does, like that boat mode, a fella didn't know you did great by the way. nothing against dji whatsoever, but I see the competition has arrived and all videos i have watched are nothing but awesome reviews, iam sure it will have hiccups but hey it's a tech gadget, and a darn good one by the looks i was going to get a dji phantom 4 pro, but it was louder than the wife`s car (WHEN THE DAMM MUFFLER BLEW OFF ONE MORNING) lol.. i dont want to get pulled over for a noisy muffler in the damn thing lol.. anyway all the best to all new flyers( and lets git er done). Iam in Canada, so i have already looked up the DOT here it's called, and I will be needing a pilot's license by the looks of it and going back home, after the covid has slowed to a halt somewhat?? yeah, who knows BUT following THE rules been stuck here, since August 08/2020 and hopefully make it back home by 2058 (smiles) anyway that said. cant wait to head back,to the east coast living!... cant wait to get my hands on mine, will be ordering it today I have done so much research on this autel, I use their OBD materials, very good so we will see. take care all, and safe travels/stay safe out there. (wear a mask) Please...... p.s. the wife always has said I`am worse than a woman, lolol.. I dont agree.... lol. Hi, thanks for the info. Just a note don’t know if it makes a difference but as part of the compass calibration I believe they ask you to point the nose down during the second part of the calibration. Also to make sure you have no metal in pockets, or your watch on your wrist..I have not done it with the controller in hand as well. Just anything that might interfere with the compass while setting it up.

    • @HobartsReviews
      @HobartsReviews  Před 4 lety

      Yes the picture on the app points it down but I have done it both ways and it's been fine. Same with my other drone and it was either way but good point. Yes you are correct to stay away from metal when doing calibration for sure. Thanks for watching!

    • @brucewarren9563
      @brucewarren9563 Před 3 lety

      The picture in both the User Manual and the App manual shows the nose pointed up. The App manual has a red correction where the word "Downward" has been struck out. So I believe the intention is to face the nose upwards. I have had several failures trying to calibrate with the nose down and also rotating around my body. I now always calibrate by rotating just the aircraft and doing the second part with nose upward and it seems to work best.

      @brucewarren9563 Před 3 lety

      @@TheChaz81 You can leave the SD card in the aircraft and connect the aircraft to your PC or Mac via the USB port. That is mentioned in the manual. However, what they do not mention is that you also have to turn the aircraft power on. That is how I transfer files from my Canon camera, but I do not have to power the camera on.

    • @brucewarren9563
      @brucewarren9563 Před 3 lety

      I should also mention that when connecting the aircraft to my PC, I get warning messages suggesting the card may be unreadable and offering the option of running a correction tool. I chose to not run the tool, in case it corrupted the data. I was able to transfer the files without any problem. Also, 2 drives appeared in Explorer. It took me a while to remember that the second one would be the internal 8GB storage. So connecting the aircraft to a PC or Mac is the only way to transfer files from the internal storage.

    Beware, I had my Mavic Mini set for 100' because I thought the highest tree was 80' AGL which would give me plenty of clearance. I was wrong, I ended up with my Mini stuck in a tree 100' above ground level. I found the record for the highest tree in the state which was 120' so I changed the RTH to 150'.
    A wind storm blew my Mini out of the tree, it fell 100' to the ground and sustained $12.00 in damage. It's back in the fleet.

    • @HobartsReviews
      @HobartsReviews  Před 4 lety +1

    Why use the phone at all? All the controls are built into the controller. Also, I completely agree that ludicrous mode is too difficult. On my DJI it’s a switch on the side of the controller and there have been times where I flew out over a golf course to get photos and the winds caught me and I had to use sport mode to gain any ground and RTH. If I have to go into an app I risk losing my drone.

  • @cswann8

    The "older USB Type C" connector is called USB Micro.

    • @HobartsReviews
      @HobartsReviews  Před rokem

      Get the Pro! You get much better images and video because of the 1 inch sensor. Unless you have the superman of all PC's you can't edit 8k anyways. I have also heard the 8k camera is not that great. Lots of people say I wish I got the pro. 😉

    Hi Hobart. Where do you find the aircraft serial#? I bought the Autel Evo II drone from a authorized dealer. Brand new. I found the serial# listed on the BOX said Aircraft S/N but when I tried to register the aircraft with that number. Its said the number is not exist. I have send an email to Autel about this already. Just to confirm, where did you find your serial number? Thank you.

Because of 4k and 6k you need a fast as card or you may get skipped frames etc. Autel said they had gotten a few conaints on using just the "extreme" SD and said got with the "extreme pro" so far so good.

    When you stop boat mode, then you have all the work of controlling it rather than just having it follow you, no?

    • @HobartsReviews
      @HobartsReviews  Před 3 lety +1

      No, boat mode allows you to take off from am unstable surface like a boat. Normally the drone does a check that it's on a flat and stable surface before it will allow you to take off but on a boat that's no possible so they added boat mode to get around that. Tracking is totally separate from boat mode. It should still track you even though you too of from a boat.

I just need more time behind the stick I think. Get the rugged flight kit if you get one. I just bought the drone without any kits. Big mistake. Oh and I hit a tree, lost a chunk of a propeller and still had enough control to manually land it safely. The local S&R team just bought one too.
