I was at that concert. I heard it said that it could be heard for blocks. The whole town of Isla Vista partied hard after the show! 😎
Gaucho class of 99 here. We had some incredible parties there during my time… but damn what I wouldn’t give to have been there for that one! Lucky man! 🍻
@@ucsbfilm99 That was the biggest party while I was there, but every weekend I would get a couple of six-packs and roam from party to party.
I didn't attend UCSB, but we drove up from Orange County for the show. It was probably the best of the 20 odd shows from them that I was lucky enough to see
I was there too. I remember it was a very warm day.Maria Muldaur opened the show. I heard NRPS were also going to appear, but Muldaur made a big stink about being billed third, so NRPS just said "screw it".
I attended this one. I remember it was a very warm day and there was a guy with a vial of purple microdots.

I was there. Hitchhiked from San Rafael to meet folks who were arriving from Anaheim. They brought their Grate Dane 🐕 dog. Not hard to locate whatsoever 😉 !

If you're not sure, it is possible that you met the guy with the purple microdots at the show.
I love every year of the dead..Man no other band jams like they do...I haven't found a bad show in over 30 years of listening...
Phish can jam & improvise as well as the Dead. Trey has been sober since Phish's return in 2009 & they've taken things to another level. The Dead & Phish are by far the Kings of all Jambands.
So Gr8ful for all you do Wall Of Sound.

Cool show.. takes them couple of songs to get it together and then it's sooo on. Like that 2nd set song list. Wow 1974... man I was 2 when this was recorded.. wonder if this is a Owsely soundboard... Architect of the Wall of Sound, always a kick ass sound engineer, ol Bear could just...hear it man.. and maybe an even better dude and a Nobel Prize level chemist.

@@dougshelby939 Yeah, I used to attend Allegheny College (Meadville, PA) back in the early 80's, and I knew two lovely ladies (Alison and Merry Sioux (Mary Sue)) who absolutely HATED Donna. Have to admit, I neve really cared for her being in the band, but apparently Jerry and the others felt like she added SOMETHING to the show. Plus, WTF do I know?
