I noticed he treated scp 173 as if it was scp 096 which would be disasterous if 173 wasn't neutralized, as scp 173 requires constant eye contact to avoid every vertebrae in your spinal column reaching a untimely demise, while scp 096 will chase down and brutally separate (and devour) every bone, tendon, and muscle in your body for so much as seeing a white blur on the mountain in the background of your deceased relative's photo album, as scp 096 attacks and devours anyone that sees the wretched creature.
Treating scp 173 as scp 096 would mean avoiding eye contact, which in 096's sense would be good, avoiding eye contact with scp 173 would lead your vertebrae's demise akin to the previous description.

Blitz heres an explanation on that scp: Scp-173 "The statue" 173 is a statue made of concrete and rebar. All subjects who see this anomaly must maintain eye contact. If line of sight is broken, by means of looking away or blinking, the statue will begin to move. When close enough, 173 will proceed to break the neck of the victim at the base of the skull.

173 is basically like a weeping angel, it can only move when nobody is looking at it, when you blink it moves a couple feet towards you, if it gets close enough it will snap your neck
At a few meters it only needs a fraction of a second to kill 3 people
no if you blink it immediately snaps your neck
Except unlike the weeping Angels you need a blink a few times for it to kill you
With SCP-173 you blink for a fraction of a second and you die

SCP-173 is a classified keter SCP
Keter means hard to contain and very dangerous and deadly.
There must be a few test subjects when a test is done or when the test subjects are cleaning Peanut’s containment room.
Hey, Blitz. Allow me to inform you on SCP-173.
SCP-173: A.K.A the Statue is know for tinkering with fuse boxes if left unseen. It'll make the lights flicker if being watched to blind it's prey and go in for a kill. The way SCP-173 kills is by snapping the necks of it's prey, all while moving when not seen. This SCP is easy to contain, just confusing to manage, seeing when it tinkers with the fuse box, it also deletes any data we have on the creature, insuring we don't get the data to the authorities. This SCP has a sweet spot for killing D-Boys. We don't know why, but the lab rats concluded "It must be reasoned by armoring and danger." since it avoids the brute forces and kills the D-Boys first.
Blitz 173 is a concrete statue that can only move when not being seen and its why he is to be watched at all times. 173 moves extremely fast and so fast that when a human blinks 173 can move a good distance. 173 is a keater class a easy to recontain but deadly by grabing the victims neck and twisting it a 180 degree killing the victim. 173 has a nick name that everyone calls him... Peanut because he looks like a peanut. 173 has his arms out at all times ready to snap the neck.
To recontain 173, 3 people are required, the first 2 keep eye contact and call out "Blinking" if they are about to blink so the other can keep his or her eyes open when he blinks and it continues. The third slides a special pannel that opens a cage on 173... this panel has to be under 173 for it to work. 173 is a fun SCP but my favorite SCP is 096 or know as shy guy

SCP-173 is a hostile SCP. You need to keep eye contact with it or it will charge at you with high-speeds and crack or neck or strangle you. It is made of rebar and spray paint. It makes no noise. You were treating SCP 173 as SCP-096, that is a fatal mistake. SCP-096 is a "Shy guy" and it is about the opposite of 173, requires NO eyesight period. If a living entity looks at a picture of 096, looks at it through a camera, or sees it in person it will rip (and devour) the living entity to shreds. It can break through anything. Do not feel guilty about this choice, the SCP foundation is huge and confusing.

SCP 173, "The Statue" is well, a statue and you MUST maintain eye contact at ALL TIMES and DO NOT BLINK! Irs is recommended to have 1 or 2 guards/MTF/Class-D with you. If you blink and no one sees the statue then the statue will move extremely quickly towards you and snap its victims neck somehow even tho it does not make physical contact with its victim. It does not scream.
And by the way, you're supposed to have eye contact with him or just be looking at him. It doesn't matter if you have eye contact. Because he technically either of two pairs of eyes one pair of eyes. I can't tell

Peanut is a very popular scp and is a keter-class scp witch means they are a very dangerous scp and has a special containment procedure

There are several theories about how 096 was terminated and several other players theories but I find that the scp forums are most viable as a source of information.
