I miss this era. Rooney was such a MONSTER.
Bruno's personality is close but Wayne Rooney was just something else entirely. Look at the anger and desire to get the result
IMO Bruno's going to be a better player. Arguably he already is. It's not just his brilliance as a player, it's his drive. I haven't seen that kind of drive in any of the players United have signed since Fergie left. His determination and his self-belief...I can see in his eyes he's going to be competing for Ballon D'Ors in the next few years.
My only hope is that he sticks with us and isn't lured away by Barca/Real.

Rooney is quite underrated. He was an immense talent. Had everything about his game. Leadership, fight, determination, goals, passing, dribbling. What a career he had at UTD and the crazy thing is if his fitness was abit better his career would have been even better
He had it in him to drop back a bit like giggs did i remember he was+it was working he could have had 2 or 3 more seasons easy-different manager players don't think it was same for him be frustrating some of the special teams he was in

The difference in this team was the character, the will to get forward the will to win, chance after chance smother teams. Sir Alex instilled belief in all the players and made sure they didn't just win they put on a performance. The passion dripping from that squad was unreal.

That's just an auto loss for any team going up against them.
These were the years (some earlier too) that I loved watching United.
So much pace, so much quality.
You'll never see waves and waves of United players getting forward like you used to. United could send numbers forward because there was pace down the wing, you didn't have to worry about the defense, and the midfielders like Giggs, Scholes, Carrick and Fletcher could all pick out a pass from their own box. You saw Giggs here with a beautifully weighted, pinpoint pass down the pitch; United today struggles to make a pass 5 yards, let alone 50.
This was a side to be feared.
will we ever get to such level of performance consistently...
