I feel like that is 100% a legitimate reason to visit, America loves to eat, and for all people talk about our random garbage fast food as though that were all we ate, we have a whole lot of unique and delicious things available.

No, tonkotsu is pork, braised pork. Katsu is fried chicken breast.

@@mohamedabdourahman9845 it's pretty dang good! My suggestion is to get the now Guy favorite and get extra noodles with it, and if you're willing to pay a bit extra, get the... I think it's called chashu pork? Makes the whole thing so insanely tasty! The boiled eggs are also pretty dang good because they have them like... In a broth so the egg itself has this awesome flavor to it.
Also be sure to stir a bit tho. Sometimes the flavor gets stuck at the bottom of the bowl. YOU WANT THAT FLAVOR TO FLOW WITH THEM NOODLES.
Oh and appetizer, get sum GODDANG gyoza. Basically fried dumplings, but so good!

I was hanging out at the cigar shop 2 doors down the day they filmed this. It was very hilarious. It was the first time I had ever seen that many people in that restaurant, quite a bit misleading. Every other restaurant in the shopping center is better, especially Tacos La Villa.
The place survived covid so it's busy enough. I go about once a month and it's never been dead slow but also never a wait for a table.

You’d be surprised how many Japanese restaurants in the US are not owned by Japanese people. Chinese and Korean owners are very common.
Same with restaurants of other cuisines, for example, there’s a chinese place I go to usually after any doctor’s appointments and it’s actually owned by a Hispanic family (?) but they make the food so well that it’s hard to tell

I've lived in Japan for over a year now and let me tell you it's not that crazy. Plenty of restaurants here combine elements of the 3 dishes you mentioned. In fact a lot of restaurants take it way further and crazier than that.
Don't like Japanese food especially not pork or ramen noodles, but have friends who would love this. Love Indian curries though.

Parents who do not allow their children to chase their own dreams (even if it doesn't make them successful) are abusive. Children are not here to make your old age awesome, they're here to live their own life. You don't have children to be a reflection of you, to have the success that you are unable to obtain yourself, nor do you have them to make yourself look good. If you think being a doctor is so important go back to school and become one yourself. I'm glad this guy got his priorities straight and decided to do what he wanted to do. When you do what you love, you become a success. Not just because of the time and passion and love that you put into your craft but also because success as found in the happiness not in riches.

Mikkle Chua because that is horrible bowl ramen in Authentic Asian standard, only cheap food court ramen is served like that. And as a famous chef it’s his job to respect different food cultures and study them. It is like going to a random restaurant kfc somewhere and say that’s the best southern fried chicken ever or going to Olive Garden and say they have the best pasta. At least this should happen from a chef with a TV show lol
happens all the time. a ton of the japanese restaurants in northern california are owned by koreans. i'm from atlanta originally, not surprising in the least since koreans are one of the more common asian immigrants. hard to find japanese people out there.
