One thing I hate about elden ring is that once you get a weapon from a boss, you get a smaller version of it and can do only one of the signature moves when the enemy had like 5 of them
That's a thing found in all souls games. Nearly all boss items are nerfed to the ground when obtained. Mods are required to get true boss weapons.
Exept bloodborn, holy moonlight sword for example has about 90% of Ludwig moveset, same with Burial blade for Gherman

@Ashrun Zeda ds3 you could use a lot of gael and fride moveset and bb you could copy quite a few enemy/boss movesets and even literally be a beast
That's not only Elden Ring, as long as I remember, the only weapon that allowed us to use all of the moveset was the sword dropped by the champion in the graveyard from DS3's first DLC
I wish they had more “stance type” ashes of war for certain unique weapons. This one of course and. Also the cleanrot knight spear, it’s current ash of war has no range whereas the cleanrot knights can have it shoot out in a line for quite a distance.
To be fair, it is a true combo in pvp, and does decent flinch damage (though it should have a much bigger aoe in my opinion...)
@@ferro9926 Im late as fuck but if you ever manage to fully hit the AoW on PvP you almost are guaranteed to oneshot whoever it touches.
The briar armor when bell bearing hunter wear it make him have like a billion poise yet when we wear it it give us 46 poiise 😂

Poise makes absolutely GARBAGE sense in Elden; I assumed we would get DS1-level poise, but the ONLY armor set we get with a ton of poise (the Bullgoat Set) also happens to be one of the UGLIEST sets as well!
i feel like fromsoft wanting things to be balanced for PVP has killed so many fucking awesome opportunities for weapons like this. i guess thats why we have mods though
The PvP sucks in Elden Ring and always has. They definitely care more about PvE. I think with how much content the game has they just gave up on PvP balance, minus small numbers tweaks.
This weapon would not have been better than Moonveil or ROB. I think it was just a game design decision.
The thing is, I don't think this would be a broken ash in PvP, it's not an instant kill like the corkscrew attack and it gives enough time to get out of the next hit so it's not a true combo (storm stomp exists)
This change would make the weapon much more interesting but no, they had to recycle that as well...
If they actually gave a shit about balancing pvp like ds2 did, then this wouldn't be a problem. But for some fucking reason, Miyazaki refuses to take some of the things ds2 did right and actually implement them in the games he directs himself. It's so fucking annoying.

The Ray Will J transition got me good.
Ability to telekinetically wield the blade comes from Bell Bearing Knight's training. So it should only be an ash of war if we're being lorewise :)

i really wish eochaid's dancing blade was a stance. it would be so cool to have the r1 be some sort of fide slash with good range, and then the r2 be the drill attack.
And it's not busted either, long and slow animations leave you wide open but pulling off a skill is soooo worth it.

I can see why they left this out it's way too OP without any drawbacks. Maybe if it had a really high ARC/INT requirement so you had to invest that would balance it out.
There is no reason not to put it in because the ash of war how it currently is already one shots every single boss with the right talismans.

@@adog8811 How is that even overpowered? It's like 3 slow hits. Even in the video you see the player struggling. Its current ash of war is better in every way. This one is just cool.

I was VERY disappointed when I got the Marais Executioner's Sword, and it didn't swing at a distance like when the Bell Bearing Knight used it.
As far as balancing is concerned, all you need do it make it slow (it already is), so that in pvp you can just roll under the attack and get some hits in. You would have to worry about getting hit on the swords return though. They could also design it not swing out at such a large distance. Maybe make it whip distance, or slightly greater (like half a sword length more than a whip) at most.
The real question is, should they give it wall/environment collision? Not doing so would allow for a large amount of cheesing through walls and such. But then, having the sword collide and (I suppose) bounce back to the player with the attack uncompleted, would make the sword extremely limiting, and practically unusable in and large amount of the games environments.
Hmmm, maybe that's why they didn't put it in?

My most overpowered build on ER used this weapon. Twin blade talisman, millicents prosthesis, alexander shard, and godefrey talisman mixed with spiked tear. One full charged weapon art did 7 thousand damage to most bosses
If they added the range double slash in base I would have finished my first play through with it.

Fromsoft went way too soft the base game considering the size of it. None of the boss weapons have anything unique about their weapons either.
I was expecting Malenia or Maliketh to have some fancy swings but nope, none at all.

What are the chances me finding this video when my current build is using marais executioner sword? To give props to fromsoft though, I feel like this is a bit overpowered in a player's hand albeit being cool af. If fromsoft would've added this, they'd probably have given it an ash similar to dark moon, ornament sword, etc.

It really sucks that, in base game, marais exectutioner's sword is next to useless unless you use its skill. It's such a cool weapon, but most fights end up being:
1) bait out an attack
2) use Eochaid's Dancing Blade
3) win
with the release of carian combo warriors mod and what's the new one called again? the one with new boss and new area. I believe in a few years Elden Ring could become the next Skyrim where the community just treat Skyrim as a game engine. making insane mods, Soon we're gonna have elden ring mod that's like totally different than Elden ring.

If I could find a good guide to safely mod my game and then unmod it so I connect to the internet occasionally, I'd be all over a mod like this.
uh, modding is very easy these days. as far as getting banned, as long as no other player sees it and reports you, you'll be fine.

most of the unique weapons in the game felt like "what From Soft wouldn't do". after Dark Souls 3, a lot of unique/boss weapons in here a real disappointing! in this case i would never expect to have the EXACT broken range, just a truncated version of the moveset.
you know like all of the boss weapons in DS3.
i wonder if anybody did a mod for Godrick's weapon to be a dual wielded set of axes with animations like him? or that having any axe of the same weapons class in the offhand changes the moveset to match?

But for real though, why FS never made this move possible?
Either to save money, or lore reasons. FromSoft acts like a triple-A company, but probably spend as little money as possible (hence their use & reuse of stock sound effects & animation over the years). But lore reasons are that you’re a Tarnished & you’re not a god, but if that’s the case, why can we still telepathically swing the sword? That makes no sense.

Why not? Moonveil is in the game and that weapon art would probably still be significantly better than this. This weapon comes out slower, has shorter range, and is less spammable. He's 2 shotting regular mobs which glintstone pebble can probably do just as well.
it's literally worse than the vanilla ash of war... just more fun
it only looks intimidating. when in actuality, that 3 hit combo is what you bait for when fighting the bell bearing hunter. its very easy to dodge, and use your rolls to close distance.
you would basically never hit anyone in pvp more than once.
