I remember standing on the Mall that day - everyone around me was awestruck to actually be listening to Ms. Aretha in person. There was an audible gasp when her name was announced. There were definitely tears. Go with grace, you beautiful angel. The Eternal Concert just got a million time more epic.

This is such an amazing moment in our American History. I was fortunate to be there on this very chilly day in DC, and I walked 5 miles over the closed bridges to attend. I was on The Mall, but very far back. It did not matter. To hear her sing and to be apart of this amazing moment, I would have walked 4 days in the cold. Her voice is a true gift from our God.

Sad to hear the news the Queen of Soul has passed away this morning. I remembered seeing this way back, but seeing it now brought tears to my eyes. *Long Live The Queen!*
Heard her today on an NPR interview state that the temperature was an unexpected 19 degrees, forecast said it would be 34 or 37 degrees, she said that she was freezing cold that day and that the cold was affecting her voice and her ability to sing. She was disappointed with her performance. To me and all she sounded fantastic and amazing.
