  • My 40th Birthday was coming up (Matt) and I wanted to go somewhere special, since both Rach and I have some time off right now. What better place to go than Europe for the very beginning of the Christmas Market season? So we booked round trip tickets using points to and from Munich Germany. But our trip wasn't going to start in Munich....we were going to start our trip in Salzburg Austria....and it almost didn't happen!!! In this video, we will take you along our 3 day trip to Salzburg and eat some of the best food in town, visit the city's historic Christmas Market, and do some other cool things around the city. Salzburg is truly a magical place and we would recommend anyone to add it to their travel bucket list. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more videos from our Austria-Germany trip.

    About Us:
    We have been married since 2009 and reside near Pittsburgh, PA. Even before we were married, we loved planning trips and traveling to cool destinations. It has now become our passion and we love diving into new foreign cultures, food, and attractions. We started making home DVDs for our own keepsake many years ago. It was a great way to preserve memories and re-live those moments whenever we wanted. We eventually found that uploading these videos to CZcams made a lot of sense. We could share them with family and friends across the country in real time, on smart TVs, Ipads, and smart phones. That eventually led to us creating the “Matt n Rach” CZcams Channel. Our focus now is not only to preserve our memories, but to include educational and useful information for our viewers as well.
    In 2022 we had our daughter, Vivienne, who is now a big part of our traveling team. Traveling with a small child certainly has its challenges, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We hope you enjoy our content and please leave a comment if you liked our video or have some something you’d like to share. We love hearing from our viewers!!

      Thank you Dyann!! That’s so exciting! Traveling with a small child certainly has its challenges, but in the end, it’s totally worth it. It definitely gets easier the more you do it.

    We had a similar experience with the train but in the opposite direction. My wife and I were visiting Salzburg in early December and a snowstorm closed the train line between Salzburg and munchen. DB ended up putting us on a bus to munchen were we caught our train to Nuremberg. Still, Salzburg was the best part of our trip!

      Yeah we remember that exact snowstorm. We got stuck in Munich for two days in 17 inches of snow. Working on that video soon. Salzburg is such a great place. Thanks so much for tuning in!!

    For your information: the beer at Augustiner Bräu Mülln is not the same as from Munich. Those are two completely diffrent breweries with diffrent beer. They don't belong together.

    • @mattnrach2016
      @mattnrach2016  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thank you for clarifying that. Are they owned by the same company? What makes them different? The logos look the same. I think 99% of the tourists that visit would assume they are the same, like I did.

    • @fzweimueller
      @fzweimueller Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@mattnrach2016 They are not owned by the same company. Augustiner is the name of the religious order, which often founded breweries in the medieval. The logos do not look the same. The diffrent is: they make diffrent beer of course... in Salzburg you only get Märzen Bier and for seasonal events special beers (Fastenbier und Weihnachtsbock). Munich Augustiner serves much more different styles of beer. Their most sold beer is a Hell and Export. But they also make Hefeweizen and Bock....
      Today the brewery is owned by another religious order: Benediktiner Michelbeuern and Heinrich Kiener (owner of Stiegl brewery).

      @@fzweimueller wow...that's really something. I had no idea. Thank you for clearing that up. We appreciate our viewers, like yourself, who can add more insight to the content that we share. I'll be sure to add a voiceover about that in our upcoming Munich video. Cheers!!
