- One of the longest and most durable careers in basletball, Jason Terry spent 4 years at the University of Arizona as a Wildcat, where as a sophomore, he played alongside Mike Bibby, Michael Dickerson and Miles Simon as the Wildcats won the 1997 NCAA National Championship. He spent two more years there after that under Lute Olson and would play with a freshman Richard Jefferson as a senior. He would be drafted to an Atlanta Hawks team who were transitioning out of an era as guys like Steve Smith and Mookie Blaylock were gone by the time Terry got there and franchise legend Dikembe Mutombo would be on his way out. During his time in Atlanta, Terry teamed up with Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Glenn Robinson and Stephen Jackson, but the team didn’t win. Then before the 2005 season, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, where for the next 8 years he would team up with Dirk Nowitzki and play the role of sidekick to perfection. Terry and the Mavs made it to the 2006 NBA Finals where they los to the Shaquille O’Neal and Dwyane Wade led Miami Heat. Then in 2009, Terry would be recognized for his incredible bench play as he was NBA sixth man of the year. In 2011, the Mavs were back in the NBA Finals and this time would defeat the Miami Heat big three consisting of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. As the 2011 NBA Championship would be the first in franchise history. Terry would spend the rest of his career in a valuable bench role on the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks before calling it a career after 19 seasons. He was one of the greatest shooters and greatest sixth men of all time, but for some reason isn’t remembered the way he should be. You always knew what to expect from him with his durability and consistency and he always knew how to control the crowd. So, that’s why he deserves more shine on today’s episode.

The definition of irrational confidence in a good way. JET will still be beloved by Mavs fans for a long time despite the way he left. He still has the best quote about being a sixth man "I don't care about starting games as long as I get to finish them"
MVP off the bench
Mr. 4th quarter
Jason Terry's career has been very underrated. He was a impactful, reliable player who brought it every night. He was a complete overachiever as a 6'2 shooting guard. His irrational confidence fueled him to play beyond his percieved ablilities. He maxed out as a player and was a great sidekick to Dirk Nowitski.
And he was also an underrated dunker. He wasn't someone who would jump out the gym like D-Rose, Russ, or Ja, but he has posterized several players in his younger days, including Shaq in the '06 finals. He had multiple dunks in those series. He use to dunk two handed alot.
Jason Terry was a beast
He was amazing in the 2011 finals. Without him, Dallas wouldn't have won it that year.
Jason Terry aka The Jet played 19 seasons in the NBA as a combo guard. As a member of the Dallas Mavericks, He won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2009 and an NBA championship in 2011. He also became the 8th all-time in 3-point field goals in NBA history.
Thanks he outperformed Lebron in the NBA Finals in 2011
The Jet, a sharpshooter and good playmaker. You should do Lamar Odom, Lamarcus Aldridge, Josh Smith or Rudy Gay
J Smoove was one of my favorite players to watch in ATL he was a stud
Give me some Josh Smith action. That guy was literally my 2nd fav player behind Dwight Howard lol
Prime JET was good for 17-20 a night. Clutch, a great teammate, reliable. One of the most underrated players of his era. Glad he, Dirk, J Kidd, Matrix and Tyson Chandler all won there ring together.
Peja also
@@Moneymaker600 True. And JJ Barea, Corey Brewer, Caron Butler who was injured earlier in the season and how can I forget Brian “the janitor” Cardinal 😭 A lot of solid guys on that team
As a Seattle native JET was always representing the 206 as did, Jamal JCrossover Crawford, Brandon Roy, Nate Robinson Dejounte Murray etc…. All great players and they all give back and we have many more. I very much appreciate your work. I’m a fan please keep it up. Please do one on Sugar Ray Richardson. He was Jordan’s first nemesis in the NBA. Great player very underrated.
Jason Eugene Terry aka J.E.T. ALWAYS CONFIDENT, no matter who he was playing against, one of the best 6th Men ever! I would like to see Kenyon Martin, Kerry Kittles, Kevin Martin and Keith Van Horn.
K Mart would be a good one 🙂
You gotta be a Nets fan!!
Nets fan? What about Drazen Petrovic?
Jason Terry hall of fame
That 99 draft was great Jason Terry Shawn Marion Steve Francis Baron Davis love to see you cover Elton Brand Rip Hamilton Lamar Odom Wally Sczerbiak
Ginobili was in that draft, too.
Kevin Martin ..an actual forgotten player who averaged 20 a game
Kerry kittles, Kenny Anderson, Bobby Phil's, Rick fox! Great video
yeah Kenny Anderson pls!
also Michael Redd
Kittle was a dog before he got hurt
That Mavs Championship team is stellar.
Peace to the sixth men who put their ego's aside for the team.
That Arizona-Utah matchup it got me thinking about Andre Miller, another great underrated point guard. I think that would be another great video
Jason Terry was a pretty solid dunker as well. He didn't jump out the gym like Russ, Ja, D-Rose, or Dame, but he had several moments in Dallas where he could posterize someone. He even had several in the 06 finals, including a two handed one over Shaq
(Big Shot Bob) Robert Horry won 7 championships. Do his player profile. It'll shock the NBA casuals how good he actually was. Jason Terry isn't forgotten by non- casuals.
Like Dirk said, to stay in the league for 19 season, takes MAD SKILL
Joe Johnson soon please! People definitely forgot about him!
Arkansas legend!!
Another player that plays overseas is Obie Trotter. He played ball for Alabama A&M and led the NCAA in steals per game. He went undrafted, but still played overseas at 39-40 years old. He's a State of Alabama HOF legend, and HOF inductee at Robertsdale High School in Robertsdale, Alabama.
40 mins??? This is one of your longest ones!!!!!!! Jason Terry was that dude!!!!!
One of my top 5 AZ wildcats
I noticed this guy since his Atlanta Hawks time. He is not a selfish player just like Steve Francis or Steve Marbury. He deserves a champion after years of solid contribution.
I didn’t know Tony Kukoc played for the Hawks!!
Seattle loves JET!
yea jt was the definition of underrated
The fact he got a title tatted on him then they won it is badass
Then he got another and lost 😅
People remember Jason Terry for getting dunked on by LeBron in a meaningless regular season game. I remember Jason Terry for trash talking and outplaying LeBron in the NBA FINALS. Terry's dagger 3 over LeBron's face in game 5 don't get talked about enough.
It was Boston vs Miami that game wasn’t meaningless. It’s literally a rivalry game 😂😂😂
MAVS LEGEND 🛫🛫🛫
Nice video on Jason Terry!
Stellar
Thank you 😊
Im glad you didn't bother to mention his two infamous moments lol blowing that Free throw and letting nash pull up to tie the game and getting dunked on by james
Finley nut punch for joining the spurs?
Can lebron stop Jason Terry🐐🔥
Pause I'm so slow. I've always known this man's full name Jason Eugene Terry since his college years but I never put it together as his nickname jet. I just thought it was because he was fast smh
JET and Dirk where only two players who lost the 06 finals to Heat when they played them in 2011.
Please do one on Byron Scott… he is always forgotten amongst the championship teams of LA
LeBron still has nightmares about him.
I love how everyone wants a Rudy gay video but I think he's still in the league.
I mean his time will be up soon, but at the same time most of these folks around my age got to know the greatness of Rudy Gay.
You should do LaMarcus Aldridge next. Borderline HOF but folks tend to overlook him.
Slick Watts, Supersonics #13
Dana Barros and Matt harping. ROBERT PACK And Tim Thomas. There's a few for ya
Need video with Jason Kidd
nobody forgot about Kidd
Detlef needs some love
Please do Josh Smith
Kenyon Martin or Josh Howard
Josh Howard is definitely forgotten. He's another one I would like to see a profile on
Can we get toni kukoc keep them coming 👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome can you do Horace grant penny hardaway or Ben Wallace
Can we get a J Smoove vid
Latrell Sprewell.
Rick Fox please
Jason Terry never saw a shot he didn’t like. He thought he could hit every shot. Total shooter mentality.
who forgot about Jason Terry? be fr
Manu or Toni were the best 6th Man ever
His greatest achievement was outperforming LeBronze in the finals as 6th man for their first championship.
Terry didnt age since college
E
Jet was the real MVP of that finals not Dirk 💯💪
Nah I'm not going that far. Terry was certainly the #2 for that team and was tremendous in the finals, but the guy who made it easier for JET and every else on the team to do what they do was DIRK. He was all-time dominant that entire playoff and essentially put the Mavs on his back.
Repent and trust in Jesus you will be saved I love yall and God bless
And Lebron choked
JT WAS MY GUY SINCE ARIZONA!! BEFORE HE GOT TO START!!
