Hi Kenny. I agree with you on The Clones Of Dr Funkenstein. As great as the other albums are this is the only one I go back to.
Great album for sure 👌 👏 👍 🎶
The Berio record is some serious stuff! I have a Stockhausen record that is pretty wild, and it also is one of my best sounding classical records
Brother!! “Focus” for me is Getz best hands down. It should be a UHQR in my opinion. I purchased it for 99 cent at Tower Records on Sunset Blvd the first week that it opened in 1971.Sweet Rain”Comes in Second for me.
I grew up being a Dodger fan having been raised in Compton. I have three of those books sitting behind you. I’ll have to look for the Ron Cey. Sandy is my all time favorite pitcher. Roseboro was such an underrated athlete whom in fact lived in Compton for a while as did Tommy Davis, Willie Davis and Charlie Neal. Duke Snider went to junior high school in Compton. Maury Wills was a hero in the community. His story was so interesting, inspiring at times yet tragic At moments. Thanks for displaying those pieces of Dodger baseball history. I Appreciate your recorded selections and their range.
Continued blessings and many blissful listening experiences.
My brother, thank you very much I really appreciate your comments. My mother used to tell me about some of the Dodger greats who used to live in Compton. I agree with you about "Focus" it deserves a UHQR or a very nice reissue for sure.
gotta love the Swingle Singers, they are great and I never get tired of Dionne Warwick in the 60s
I like Dionne 1980s too
Hey Kenny- Interesting picks for underrated albums. A few I would throw your way are One of the Boys-Roger Daltrey, Cloud 9-George Harrison and City to City-Gerry Rafferty. So glad to see that you're a Dodger fan. I've been one since I was 8 years old and I'm 72 now, so it's been a couple of years! I grew up with Koufax,Drysdale,Wills, etc. Very exciting times. I got Maury to sign the cover of the 1963 Dodger yearbook, which shows him sliding into 3rd stealing his 104th base of the previous season. Keep up those interesting videos.
I love my Dodgers for sure. I was lucky enough to meet Maury Wills about 35 years ago and he was very nice. Thank you very much for your comments 😊 ✌️
Dude has a collection! Got to get da funk.
😊😄😁
Great recommendations, you got yourself a new sub Sir.
Thank you very much 😊
Kenny, great picks. In the record store I worked in the mid 70's Parliament were huge and that record in particular. Dionne's lps sound incredible. RCA's Savannah also has incredible sonics. Keep rockN
Thank you very much Tony, much appreciated ✌️
Kenny you 63? You look great dude! Great albums I just got Flora Purim Clarke Duke project and Kenny Burrell!
Thank you very much 😊...I hope that you enjoy those albums.
Dr Buzzard - saw then during that release. They were great.
Do more of these wonderful episodes.
Thank you 😊 ✌️
I appreciate your recommendations. Thanks for the video. Keep up the great work.👊🏾
Thank you very much 😊 ✌️
George benson - Give Me The Night : digital recording, but it sounds sooo good ! Recorded and mixed by Bruce Swedien (M. Jackson Thriller !). Mastered by Kent Duncan at Kendun Recorders. This album has aged quite well ! Underrated indeed !
Fabulous album for sure 👏 👍 💯 🎶
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews ....yes, + another (underrated?) great "fusion" Album from the 80s : Bob James, David Sanborn - Double Vision; with Marcus Miller and Steve Gadd. Mastered by Doug Sax ! 1986 Grammy Award winner !!
I have that album, I'm going to have to listen to it soon.
Howdy Kenny,
A couole of my entries for under-appreciared albums:
Weather Report (self-titled, 1982). Even though the album's cover is pretty lame.
Jefferson Airplane: Bark. A lot of great songs with no complete duds, i.m.o.
✌️👊👍🤙
P.s. Related to this video only by the ball players visible in the video's background, if you haven't seen the 2023 documentary Reggie, check it out. It's excellent.
I agree with you about the Weather Report album. I was not aware of the Reggie documentary. Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely check it out.
we have similar taste for jazz nice
😊😁 🎺 🥁 🎶
Love Lani Hall❤️Her album Sun Down Lady is my favorite. So good as Rick Beato would say.
In fact “Come Down In Time” by Lani Hall is playing right now. Highly recommended to give a listen friend👍🏻
Thanks Kenny!
I have that album in my collection and "Come down In Time" is fantastic 👌 👏
Gil Scott Heron's "B Movie" couldn't be more revelant today.
Amen 💯
One of my favorites
Your love of music stretches out there and I appreciate the knowledge . Don rom I o ? Was in Brazil 66 ? Incredible to know that. That man always had a mysterious or mystique . Where did he come from .I mean thest uff he did with weather Report was out there .
Dom Um Romão was a great Brasilian percussionist 😊
Great albums, some of which I own. And you can still get some of these from the bargain bins!
Thank you very much for your comments 😊 ✌️
Me personally. I like music that's kind of pushing things to the limits, which is why I'm going to take a listen to the Luciano Borio (Sinfonia) album. I've heard just about all the other albums you presented, but this one I haven't. I do have a song recommendation of what I mean by pushing things to the limits. The name of the song is (In Stitches) by (The Bad Plus) It's a 15 minute monster that evolves into a masterpiece, so I would say don't listen to it, until you can really sit down & wrap your brain around it's complex nature. I've recommended it to others in the past & it didn't feel like much in the beginning, but when the song was finished they were left in ahh. I look forward to the Luciano (Sinfonia) album & Enjoy.👍
Thank you very much for your recommendation....I will definitely listen to it 😊
@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews I'm going to checkout some of the Swingle Sisters albums as well.
Ran across Robert Cray "Strong Persuader" great album!!! Dione "Finders of Lost love" is good to good duets!
Very Nice Kenny!!!! Really Nice Show!!! Speaking Of Underrated... And Me Being A Psych Collector.. Have You Heard Of aThe " Free Design" 4 LP's s 67- 71.. Very Good Folk Psych Sound... And Nice Sound Overall!! Check Them Out ....
Thank you very much for your recommendation...I have never heard of "Free Design" but I will check them out.
George Benson's 'Give Me The Night' under-rated?!! Brother, that record was massive when it was released!! Here in the UK people of a certain age still think GB is the boss.
It's underrated in my opinion here in the states because it's somewhat forgotten and it does not get it's modern props like other albums currently do in terms of reissues.
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews Then the US needs re-educating!
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews ...In 1985, this album, was slated for a special audiophile release on MFSL. Test pressings exist, but the release was cancelled for unknown reasons.
This has been documented by the owner of the record store, "The In Groove", in Phoenix, AZ : czcams.com/video/I3poG22txL8/video.html
Savannah Band is one of the greatest Disco records ever made, ever. It sounds like summer and La Croix
I agree 💯...A fantastic album 👌 👏 🎶
Gil Scott Heron the Revolution will not be televised! I have live No Nukes concert
