Is it possible to have access to some photographs of this instrument? particularly how you've laid out the internals? I want to attempt to make a symphonia gurdy like you've done here and would very much appreciate some insight if possible. If not it's no worries though.
Someone mentioned bagpipes -- I can see one of these with drone(s) tuned to B, and the melody string(s) with the tangents in the key of B like the chanter (all irrc).
It's hard question because there is lots of different quality in this instruments. I am amateour maker and my instrument usualy cost about 250 to 360 british pounds. But if you searching professional instrument it is hard to find something under 700 british pounds. Much depends on number of strings, keys, dimensions of instrument and other components.
Symphonia is quite simple (if making hurdy gurdy may be simple at all ;)) hurdy gurdy to make. If you will search on youtube there is some people who try to make their own hurdy gurdy and usualy it is symphonia. But you must remember that making hurdy gurdy which sounds clear isnt easy thing - it is lost of details which must be done good. Good luck if you will try to make one :)
@@fairygurdies I understand that the buttons don't always line up with where the tangents actually touch the string, but it kind of looks to me like your keys are arranged in Aeolian (minor) mode? (in other words: W H W W H W W)
i always made plans by myself so i dont know where to find any patterns, but as i know there are some people who made instrument based on plans from web. Maybe google will help,
I am sorry, we are selling only finished instruments. The scale was something about 320mm of active string in those instruments, the tuning - I do not remember :/
It's tuned so high it sort of sounds like a bag pipe. I love it!
The song I think is called An Dro, a folk dance from Brittany. Just for those of you who were curious😊
Im in love! Its compact, not too loud, clear sound unlike some ive heard and very simple design but the viking pattern gives it an interesting look.
Very cute little thing and very well played.
Thanks :)

@@fairygurdies Bitch move. Mission failed respect lost.
Noticed your not using a grew lower keys, is is still being worked on ?
Bravo! That's AWESOME
omg where can i buy one, the other gurdy is too big for me, but this looks perfect !!!!!
I think this one is homemade
Hurdy is supposed to be violin - guitar sized, not a music box
@@graullas8981 this is a symposium (early gurdies)
@@graullas8981incorrect. These are how the original hurdy gurdys were
Oh damn. Fire.
I love it
Wow. I would love to build this beauty. Are their plans available or people making them for sale?

AN DRO MY FAVORITE
What kind of woods do you use???
Hi,
How do you set the two strings ? "A" for both ?

Here it is in octave, dont remember which tunning was here precisely, but for example dD, cC, etc.
this little thing would be perfect for me! where can i get one?
Wow, great performance. Where can I get this hurdy?
Thanks! I am sorry, but we do not make curently this particular model.
I'm thinking about making one and I was wondering if yours has one string or three
it has 2 strings, one melody and one drone.
Nice ;)
thanks :)
Yooo!! sounds epic!! where can I get that instrument? :O
you can contact me on my facebook page - fairygurdies :)
Great tone. How much do hurdy gurdys generally cost?

East makers make profesional instruments much cheaper.

Put some felt or some matril under the button to soften impact
good advice :)
good
Where can i get one of these please
Sehr witzig!!!!!!
where can i get one like that and how much
Please contact me by mail mateusz.modzelewski0@gmail.com
Making a hurdy gurdy myself may be too difficult, considering my very limited tools.... A symphonia should be much easier.
Fantastic my friend!!! I assume you don't ship to the US?
I ship worldwide :)
Do you still sell these? For how much do they go?
I am sorry, but curently we do not make this particular model.
This sounds like the an dro tune
What's the scale on this one? Given the number of keys I'm guessing diatonic?
I am afraid I don't remember precisely - scale was 300 or 320 mm (active string) and it is of course diatonic instrument.

Can I have the instructions on how to build this?
I am sorry, but i don't publish patterns.
Build a box drill a hole in it insert shaft with wheel on one end ad string anchors make key holes on one side
How can i get plans for one like urs thank you wholeheartedly Von Karl
i always made plans by myself so i dont know where to find any patterns, but as i know there are some people who made instrument based on plans from web. Maybe google will help,
I'd it possible to learn this power?
Hi, what kind of strings did you use ?
In this instrument, if I remember corectly, clear nylon strings.
Guess what! I'm using ur song for a perfomence in front of my whole school
So nice for me :)
I'm not sure but the song sounds like the traditional folk dance from Britanny (UK) called "An Dro".
Can I buy this from you?
hey friend! Do you have the template to share?
Did you buy that or did you make it.
i made it :)
An Dro?
Yes :)
What else?? XD
What's the tune you played?
This is Andro
Hey mate! Would I be able to see the inside? I want to make one :)
I am sorry, but we do not share any plans of our instruments. But there are some free patterns in web, if you are searching for one.
What’s in the box?
Schrödingers cat. Or isnt ;) If you want to know what usualy is in symphonias box there is few videos on youtube where people demonstrate it :)
Who is the constructor?
i made all instruments on this channel (beside one from first records which is work of Leszek Pelc)
plans tuning and scale?
I am sorry, we are selling only finished instruments. The scale was something about 320mm of active string in those instruments, the tuning - I do not remember :/

What is the tune?
St. Patrick's AnDro (traditional Breton)
true :) this version is inspired by Eluveitie and Faun version
Both good bands! I like your instrument by the way. Did you cut out the top by hand, or did you use a machine?
