*NOTE: You can create a notification using rollups for a less formula heavy option. In fact I used to do this myself! However, when I switched everything over to a formula-based model, I noticed the speed of my Notion workspace improved TREMENDOUSLY. No more lagging over here! That’s why I teach this method 😊

this is so helpful!! i'm using status instead of checkbox, how would you get both "not started" and "in progress" to show as something to do today/is overdue? I can get "not started" to work, but if I include or "in progress", everything is market as due today/overdue.
Great question! What I would actually do is choose anything that isn't Complete. (Or Done depending on how you've labelled it.) So in this case, instead of ==, you'll use != "Complete". Hope this helps!

For sure! I add a string of “Today is “ and then I use the formatDate() function with this format: "dddd [the] Do [of] MMMM"

Is there away for me to make the formula check a status property for “not started” AND “in progress” instead of using the checkbox property for this formula
Yes! With the new Notion Home update, I recommend this. What I would actually do is choose anything that isn't Complete. (Or Done depending on how you've labelled it.) So in this case, instead of ==, you'll use != "Complete". Hope this helps!
How would I add a date range to the formula? I want to be able to see upcoming tasks for the week relative to today.
In that case, you’ll want to add another “and” statement to your filter! So due date >= today and dud date

Thank you!! Yes! If you just remove the date filter from the formula it will show all the tasks not completed 🙌

Hey! I'm not leaving the formulas for copying and pasting as my hope for this video was that you can take the concept and apply it to your unique databases! Copying and pasting can lead to errors if it's not formatted for your specific situation. Feel free to pause the video and use the code from there if you need a place to start!
My variable disappears and I can’t select it once I get to the if() part, what am I doing wrong 😢
Oh noooo! It's hard for me to tell without being able to see it, but double check that you have correct formatting up until that point in the formula! (i.e. commas at the end of the lines, closed brackets, etc.) Is it giving you any errors?

@@ultra-bloodbath4004 gotcha! The formatting will not hold correctly in a CZcams comment and will become a mess to sort through. If you want to send me an email with the screenshot of the error & formula that would probably be easiest! Then we can take a look at what's going on in the context of your specific formula.
