In more than five years of climbing the mountains of the Philippines, from Luzon, Visayas, to Mindanao. This is the first time I will try to climb the so-called rare mountain. In the central part of the country, the island of Negros is located, where the extraordinary gift of nature resides, one of the most active volcanoes in the country, Mt. Kanlaon.

We were fortunate enough to have clear skies the first time we summited Mt. Kanlaon. Revenge climb nalang po kayo sir. I suggest via Wasay trail para mas challenging.

Yes, for sure may revenge climb. Besides maganda din talaga si Mt. Kanlaon kahit walang clearing. 🇵🇭

If you use backdoor trails which leads to the other side from where you are, you can see the floor of the crater.

You have to be in the summit before 9am. Fogs are lower in the early morning. They rise up and cover the crater as the day heats up.
