I began watching this show after hearing about it through a friend of mine. It’s unlike any other American comedy that I’ve ever seen. It’s sarcastic, it’s witty, it’s over the top, the gore is completely over the top and it’s a piss-take on the ideal modern American “lifestyle.”

Drew's answers are so moving and real! Also she put the best possible spin on being on a word-perfect show. I've heard other actors say that word-perfect shows are absolutely stifling.

They stick to the script, so no improvising. And deliver the nuance the writers want instead of the actor's own interpretation (or not veer drastically)

23:19 So very grateful that Victor had faith and pushed to get Tim casted as Joel. TO has always wanted to do comedy (his most common "what next" answer in his mid-2000s interviews) and it's fantastic he finally got one lead comedy role at least.
Almost all of his TV guestings were in comedies and I'm sure he brought in his former co-stars too (esp. The Grinder, Justified etc.)

I saw the Santa Clarita diet three times, when the first season came out. Then I watched seasons 1and 2 three times.
This is not the kind of think I normally watch, but I watched every single minute of it. Really enjoyable! These guys are just brilliant :)

Wait a minute, there’s American suburbia and then there is Santa Clarita. In high school I went from a more typical American high school in Maryland to one in Santa Clarita in around 1999. Although my MD school was in a nice town, the comparison was like having come from the high school in Dangerous Minds to straight up Clueless. The S C Valley is truly a parallel universe.

I really appreciate this program ... the talented cast and crew that make it so valuable. I also think that we haven't had such a beautiful male/female marriage relationship on TV since the Addam's Family :) I also can see this as therapeutic ... it's soooo out there that NO one ... hopefully ... is going to face being undead, but many families have to face life and death sentences. Families that have to deal with all kinds of gruesome medical procedures can find inspiration from the Hammonds courage. Thank you ... like Ann ... I see God in this :)

I fell into this show head first. It's stupid they pulled the plug on the show. This was an amazing refreshing new show that was very well cast and scripted. They need to finish what they started

I won't lie, I only tried watching because of Drew but I am so glad I did now...

And now NetFlix canceled it! Dammit!
Not over a lack of viewership but because of money... Postseason 3 requires bigger payouts by their own contracts and they don't want to pay out so here we are... I now have no reason to finish watching it because it ends in a cliffhanger that will never get resolved... :(
I love watching this show and my husband loves it. Their marriage is so much like ours. Also, I love Eric and Abby because my husband and I were such good friends and I fell in love him. I enjoy how the show gives women and men the power together.
Tim gave such a wonderful honest and non BS answer.So many actors lose ground because they think/told that they are more that rest of us, and they are allowed to cross boundaries because at the end of the day executives etc are far more worry about making money and have no real consideration or care for the person acting.

My favorite actress of all time is Drew Barrymore and I've always loved her work. I went into this show wanting to watch for her, but grew to love all of the characters whether they had a small part or a main role in the show. I'm very sad there won't be a season 4. I was watching this show since the beginning and I just finished it again. It's so good and Netflix sucks for cancelling it just because they didn't think it was bringing them enough money. 🙄

Oh my god... watching younger on screen "talent" try from Screen Junkies and the like really lowers your baromater. Vanity Fair has one hell of a secret ace up their sleeve. Excellent host. Quick, witty, kept the conversation moving quickly. Brilliant job. Def do more on screen hosting.

I love this show! Story and writing was hilarious, even their obviously sarcastic wit about the way over the top liberalism. The poor male characters were constantly apologizing for being male. Casting could not have been better... love their hunky black cop neighbor, and Timothy Olyphant always excels in whatever he does. Drew is always a bright light in everything she does. Abby is such a pretty and expressive girl, hope to see more of her. Eric brought his character to life; can't imagine anyone doing better. I became so familiar with their home too.
Was so sorry to see it end. Still hoping it will return.
