I have the TX22 and the TX22 competition model. I also bought my son a TX22 for him and the grandsons. When you ask which 22 they want to shoot the Ruger Mark 4 or the TX22. They always go for the TX22. I love both of mine. Try to take one of them every week when we go shooting. Will likely put a red dot on the Competition TX22.

Hey there. I'm a TX 22 man myself. I've shot a bunch of rounds, but I did have my slide replaced twice now. But, only when using a muzzle brake or can for a long time. Like 5k rounds in with either, it will get the smallest crack where the guide rod meets the top of the slide. Taurus had the best service. I had broken it a second time, was worried but sent it in, they paid shipping both ways and from the time I got it to the post office, mailed the Bainbridge Georgia, and back to Olive Hill KY...... ONE WEEK TOTAL. I mean wow right? But anyway, it's a little more expensive but my pistol shoots CCI standard velocity one tight hole ragged at 10 meters. And it's the cleanest dag on ammo you ever seen. You can shoot 100 rds and the ONLY thing that has any negligible carbon is in the chamber. If you pull the barrel out when it's still warm, pull a boresnake through it and that's it. Put it back together. Now it also loves Aguila standard velocity and cycles just live the CCI standard. No hiccups at all. BUT, it's dirty as crap so you'll be digging in to get it clean. But, I'm ranting cause I liveed the gun. And the only ammo mine will NOT shoot accurately is federal automatch. I don't know why but it's a shotgun pattern at 10 meters.lol Other than that I've shot 20 different kinds of ammo from cheap Herters ammo to Eley competition. They all shoot fairly well. Some have cycle issues but, all are accurate except that federal automatch. So, I stick with CCI standard velocity. Or other standard loading 1080fps ammo. Everyone needs one of these pistols. Last thing I swear, I would trust it for an EDC carry with the CCI standard velocity. In 5k rounds I've had 5 rounds not either fire or cycle. That's as good as about any centerfire IMHO. Have a great day and thanks for the video.

I have several Taurus pistols and my TX22 is great pistol. I have over a thousand rounds through it with only two failures to fire that was ammo related. The first five hundred rounds was Winchester Wildcat ammo I inherited from my father that was over 40 years old and only 2 bad rounds. The TX22 is accurate, reliable and eats everything I feed it. Thanks for the video and have a great day.

My tx 22 comp experience is not as rosey, 600 rnds fired, 73 stove pipes, 13 fte. Cleaned and oiled gun twice, cleaned mags with brush, lubricated mags with proper lubricant, used 4 different brands of ammo, (hence the 600 rnds) and nothing made any difference. Gun is now back to Taurus on warranty claim. Have read of others with same problems, so not an isolated incident. Others said Taurus would not pay the shipping for warranty claim, they are in my case, indicative that there may be many coming back. Hopeing it comes back fixed, wanted to love the gun, time will tell, maybe a bit of........Buyer Beware!!

My TX22 had lots of malfunctions at first. Then the slide developed a crack at the front. So I sent the gun back to Taurus, and they fixed it for free on warranty, replacing both the slide and the barrel. Performance was hugely improved, though not yet perfect. Then I saw a CZcams video which said to take apart and carefully clean out the magazines with a mag-cleaning brush, and that made the definitive difference. Performance is far more reliable now, and has been staying that way.

Love my TX, but have had bad problems with lead fouling. After about, give or take 100 rounds, the lead fouling was so bad it was becoming massively inaccurate, even at short distances. Would take me more than 50 passes with a brass brush to get the lead out of the barrel. Has been sent to Taurus twice now. The last time, they replaced the barrel. Still can’t shoot any bulk ammunition out of the gun, without it lead fouling. Taurus says to only shoot CCI. Anyone else experiencing this problem??? I bought this pistol to shoot as cheap as possible, which means shooting bulk ammunition, and have been told by Taurus, not to do that. Half way defeats the purpose of buying the pistol in the first place!

I’ve got deep gauges in my slide spring well caused by the stock spring after 500 rounds. Taurus won’t even answer my emails.
UPDATE: I was able to contact Taurus about the problem with the slide. They sent a return label to ship the pistol back for repair. They kept it a little over 2 weeks and when I got it back there was a new slide and spring. While my pistol was in for repair I ordered a new spring from Galloway Precision and installed it as soon as my pistol was returned to me
I’m now looking forward to firing thousand of trouble free rounds through my repaired TX22

This in Itself does not prove that it is the Best because the Competition in this platform is the hottest ever in the Gun Industry right Now and I really would like this to be Verified by how many times this gun had to be serviced, How many malfunctions or parts replaced! Loom my old videos. Sclegalcarry.com I have been South Carolina Law Enforcment certified Concealed Weapons Permit Instructor since 2013. I quickly learned that having 26 strangers bring guns to a class was dangerous. It's simple people lie about their gun experience. Or they only know what their drunkard uncle buck taught them about guns and they just don't k oe what they don't know.
So, I decided that providing guns ammo and everything needed for the range created a safe environment for everyone on the range.
I still have the pistols. Me and my wife and daughter still shoot them together. I just taught my 9 year old nephew to shoot pistols with one of these guns. After deer season I will teach his sister to shoot using one of these guns.
And would invite you to come and join me at the range and shoot each one. I have plenty of ammo left to shoot.
Now my Chanell is wheelmanfmj look me up and get some insight into why I had to stop classes.
And no I have done know work to these guns. But that bag full of busted Barrttas cost me a fortune trying to keep them running. They are a bag of junk.

I agree....there is no way the pistol shown in this video has 225k through it. The finish on both the barrel hood and slide look almost new. I still have my first GLOCK Gen 2 G19 9mm I bought new in 1993 for $379.00 + 5% sales tax. It has 25k - 30k through it and is nearly 30 years old. You can DEFINATELY tell it has been shot and carried. I also have a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 (pre Mil-Spec) in .45 ACP I bought new in 1990 for $325 + 5% sales tax. It too has somewhere between 25k - 30k through it. You can also tell this pistol is 32 almost 33 years old and has DEFINATELY been shot and carried A LOT!

@@soldieroftoughlove7635 You don't do dry fire practice. That is a very important skill to learn. I dry fire my pistol every day. When I train people that is one of the first skills that I teach them. By performing dry fire you learn trigger control and you learn to not move the firearm as you pull the trigger. 98% of people tighten other muscles in their hands and arms as they pull the trigger. That is the main reason they have the scatter pattern on their target. I can work with a person for 15 min on dry firing and diagnose what they are doing wrong and teach them skills to stop that. I shoot IDPA, USPA, and steel challenge from Colorado to West Virgia all the way to Florida. I have shot with some of the best most accurate fastes shooters in the world.
And everyone of them dry fire. The first thing we learned on Parris Island in South Carolina was trigger control and we learned it by dry firing.
