      @Paul.Burrell Před 2 lety +23

      @@pandabear1576 Naw, Ayton has more of an old school center of PF game. He doesn't shoot 3's, and his game is basically all in the paint from and offensive and defensive standpoint. Tyler's analysis is spot on. Folks forget about Booker prior to the Sun's resurgence. He was called a poor man's Kobe for a reason. He was mainly a half court iso scorer, and has really evolved to fit this team and the new NBA style of play.

      True and ridiculous since Blake didn't have the skillset to be a number one. He developed over the years but got by on athleticism for the most part. Chris is so accurate about the reception to him in Phoenix. There were definitely people out of their mind excited when the sun's traded for him, but there were also a huge portion of fans who heard about the trade and their first response was "Didn't he retire a couple years ago?" and who were just waiting for him to show up looking old, tired, and washed up, there 5 page long "Fire James Jones" youtube/reddit comments pre-typed, just waiting to hit the send button. Then they saw CP3 start to do CP3 things and were all like "wait... what? This guy is actually really REALLY good! Amazing even!"
    At this point he's long since proven himself to any doubters in phoenix, but he definitely did have to prove himself again, and I'm sure there's still people who've pre-typed a "Fire James Jones" comment around the contract they gave CP3 that pays him well into his 40s who are still just waiting for CP3 to start showing signs that age is catching up with him. Conversely, the vast majority of suns fans I know would take a bullet for Devin Booker to protect him from some one critisizing him after an off game, the main difference being the Suns drafted Booker, he literally grew up with the team, so to many people he's as much family as their uncle who never comes to family gatherings but they'd still drop everything to help him if he got a flat tire.

      James Jones deserves executive of the decade.
      literally a decade of fuckery from the Suns, then James Jones somehow not only convinces Monty Williams to come to phx, but coach the suns OVER the Lakers and an all time great in LBJ. Convinces Booker to stay (which maybe happens anyway, but locked it up even tho they hadn’t been winning much and was told hes no more than stats)- then foresees an opportunity to bring in CP, an aging PG whose style is kinda dying out…and at 36 they install the most complex but beautiful offensive scheme i’ve ever seen in my personal life time. Then somehow foresees talent in a virtually unknown group of guys that are crucial and incredible players nobody had heard of before. Stealing bridges from Philly, Cam johnson picked higher than anyone thought he should have been picked, and gave a chance to a backup PG with a mediocre past who’s in china playing G league basically and they are all fantastic.

I also loved Chris's perspective on changing teams and how that developed his view on what it means to be in a group, he had a really unique pathway - from being snubbed as a washed up injured shorty old guy to an even greater legend.
    I think they underestimated him in okc onward because he came from delicate situation in Houston, and who would have thought he would redefine what's possible for a short player?! It's really, really, a blessing to have Chris Paul in our world.

      People hate on CP3 so much just because he has a history of flopping.... well guess what, 90% of superstars who played in the 2000's and 2010's did their fair share of flopping. It was just part of the game unfortunately. And still is to some extent, although the refs have gotten way better at not rewarding players for flopping. Besides though, CP3 is one of the most respectable dudes in the league off the court.
      But people still only hate on CP3 over the flops and refuse to pay attention to how damn good he is and appreciate the level of skill and leadership he brings to the league.... it's their loss. Who knows how many more years CP3 will be playing ball... people should pay attention to what he's doing while they still can. He's a rare breed, one of the few TRUE Point Guards left and one of the best to ever play that role. One of the best mid range shooters of all time, one of the best passers/leaders, and one of the most clutch players ever.

There is a lot of good fortune that comes with winning a championship though. Just look at the last 4 champions. The Suns had good fortune last year, until Chris Paul injured his hand in game 3 of the finals. Hopefully the Suns can stay healthy during this years playoff run. CP3 is one of all time great IMO top 50 player of all time. He can do everything on the floor, he is sturdy, handles, floor general, can pull up from any spot on the floor, from mid range fadeaway to three points to post ups a really rare skill set. And he did amazing things with every single team he played. He only misses a ring.

    CP, the problem is that a lot of the young guns in the league are total casuals. They grew up with scorers/chuckers being the primary stars. They probably didn't really follow CP or appreciate his skills because they just focused on the 40 ppg scorers. That's why they were so surprised by CP's scoring.
