    I re-read my PT111 9mm Pro Instructions again. The instructions do state that the pistol could accidentally fire if dropped on a hard surface hip high or the trigger could be pulled with one in the chamber, if not correctly holstered and the manual safety off. That is why I liked this pistol. Once racking the slide, loading the chamber, the pistol goes straight to single action. The only thing stopping trigger pull is the manual safety. But, if there is a fail to fire the pistol trigger can be pulled again and again to fire a hard primer. I plan to keep mine, if there is no fix for it. I will keep it as is.

    I have a G2C and so far the safety is working fine. That being said, I'm not worried about either the trigger safety or slide safety not working because I don't keep a round in the chamber since it serves as just my nightstand gun and I have interior bedroom locks and a loud dog. So plenty of time to rack the slide.
    That being said, I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the safety on their G2C pistols. Most dealers seem to have much fewer returns on these pistols then on other much more expensive brands. Mine works great after several hundreds rounds through it. Plus it's so far eaten every type of ammo I've fed it including cheap jagged-edged hollow-points. So I'm quite happy with mine.

    I own three Taurus handguns. The G2 PT-111, the PT-1911 and the Taurus 85 Poly 38+P. I have fired all three many times and have not had any problems. As far as accuracy goes, the PT-1911 is the best of the group. At 15 yards the PT-1911 will rip one single hole in a silhouette target. The only modification I made to it was a Wilson plastic recoil buffer. These reduce recoil considerably.

      You noticed that too, huh? It look like someone from Taurus is standing just off screen, pointing one of their crappy and highly unsafe pistols at him! He looks afraid and constipated.
      But on a serious note, I used to think Taurus firearms were a good value for someone who needed a gun because they had a limited budget. Save up and get something else. What good is an inexpensive firearm that’s unsafe and may kill you? Taurus pistols are a step above those old Jennings and Raven pistols, but just barely. Taurus products aren’t made out of pot metal. They’ve still got some serious design flaws though. I wouldn’t carry one.

  • @dr.phillnaadoftennessee.9788

      You lost ALL credibility when you said Taurus Judge. Lol. I’m messing with ya. But for real, 410 handgun shot shells aren’t accurate and there are much better cartridges than .45 long colt. The gun has such a low capacity compared to how heavy and large it is. I guess it’s better than a pointy stick and harsh words. Most of the Judges I’ve seen had some sort of cylinder timing issues. How’s yours holding up? How often do you shoot it? Does your weapon have a high round count?

    I sent mine in 0ct 24/2017 just after the go ahead from the law firm. It's been over 8 weeks now. I have let my phone sit on hold with them for greater than 2hrs with no answer. I did however web chat with Fran through their website twice. She said I will not be getting a Gen II pistol and that they are now going to "repair" them....and they have no legally required date to return the pistol. I called the law firm and they said just prior to the class suit ending a addendum was made allowing them to develop a repair and not replace the pistol and confirmed Taurus is not bound by a date to return it. I wouldn't have swnt mine back had I know of this last minute change. Even the letter I got from Taurus acknowledging reciept of my gun stated 6 weeks estimate. I'm expecting years now if ever

    my pt145 i bought here in the Philippines in late 2002,( sn nvh 5***3 ), does not have the word PRO on its slide, just millenium & pt145 on either side of the slide, is this model/generation included in the safety issues program ? i haven't fired it much( less than 50 rounds of our local standard load armscor 230 gr fmj ) and so far so good. I just want to make sure so i asked you, because the Taurus store guys here are reluctant ( & sometimes arrogant ! ) to entertain questions regarding the safety issues or gun related problems about their products ! i'm respectfully looking forward to your reply, thank you.

    This guy has spoken too soon! There are numerous cases online attesting to similar safety problems with the new G2!!! Seems like Taurus has NOT corrected the design problem - or whatever the nature of the cause of injury and death. Having owned 5 Tauruses over 35 years, including the original PT111 Millennium I bought in 1991, which NEVER had an AD despite numerous drops (thanks to a cheap Uncle Mike's fabric/Velcro strap holster carried when jogging) onto the street, I will NOT buy another simply because of the piss-poor customer service experienced in the more than 3 months since I sent it in for the third time to get the front sight repaired after blowing off; they repaired and returned it within a week the two previous times, but that was before the lawsuit and return of thousands of pistols covered by it. Don't think I will EVER see the gun again. Shame on what was once a fine company! They simply need to hire more techs to expedite these guns sent in under the lawsuit; it ain't rocket science, Taurus!!! You just don't want to spend the money to hire them.

  • @Ryzzingsun
    @Ryzzingsun Před 7 lety +12

    If you buy a new Taurus now days you shouldn't have a problem. That being said you are truly ignorant if you don't do your research about any firearm that you are planning to purchase. I research all my firearms before purchasing. Whether it be a Smith and Wesson, Beretta, Ruger , Colt, or Daniel Defense(etc) it doesn't matter. Purchasing something with lack of knowledge on the product is no ones fault but the purchasers. You assume all the consequences of your actions .

      I had the 24/7 checked out by local gunsmith and was fine, pt111 no issue as of yet, 140 I never carry. I did try at the range to make all of them fail and nothing. However wouldn't hurt to have a gunsmith give it a once over to be safe. My main issue is getting mags for the 140 most places are sold out or want 50$+ per mag.

      If you pull the trigger back and flip the safety up at the same time the trigger doesn't reset, therefore if you pull the trigger once again with the safety up being engaged, the gun will actually fire once. Then if you pull the trigger again the gun will not fire now that the trigger has been reset and the safety is engaged. Who in their right mind is going to pull the trigger and engage the safety at the same time especially with a round in the chamber?? If you would actually do that then you probably shouldn't own a firearm. Therefore I don't see a need for sending it in. If you turn it in, you are not going to get your gun back! They are either going to send you a PT 111 G2 ( problably the G2C now) or a check for $200.

    Ah, now I see why taurus won't fix my junk pt22, the repair line in too long. Must be costing taurus a small fortune. Taurus will send you a shipping label and charge you $50 to send it back to taurus for repairs. I call BS. I bought a S&W 686 plus with a 3" barrel last year, no amount of rear sight adjustment corrected the point of aim/impact. I called Smith & Wesson and they emailed me a shipping label, sent it to them and had my revolver back in less than two weeks. Problem solved. Oh, Mr MartinHunter, Taurus pistols are junk. Read the reviews by people that are having issues with their pistols, the number of reliability issues are much too high.

    If you drop a Taurus firearm (most likely if its a polymer frame striker-fired pistol) to the ground it will fire. Some will have a malfunction that makes the gun able to discharge even if it has a safety on and you just shake the gun. Other models will fire if you rack the slide and then put the slide safety on, as if the safety lever was the trigger. A few of the handguns may fire fully automatic until the magazine is empty, if you press the trigger only once. The metal frame pistols like the .40 PT100/101 and so on might present a catastrophic malfunction where the barrel will blow up or the slide will come off when the gun is fired, puncturing the shooter's face or eye. Oddly enough, some of them would just never fire, which has caused cops to die because when they tried to return fire during a firefight, the gun would jam. The Taurus submachine guns are just a nightmare, they could either blow up when fired or fire 30 shots by themselves if shaken as well. The Taurus revolvers are mostly fine though. Today, August 3rd 2016, we had a hearing of people that were hurt by defective Taurus' pistols, most of them police officers and military personnel here in Brazil, they are suing Taurus and the Brazilian Government (which controls part of Taurus) because they have been wounded and rendered disabled for life and because of a dumb law that says the Police and Military are meant to use only Brazilian guns, but we have only 2 firearm brands here, Taurus and Imbel (Imbel used to make our version of the FN FAL rifle, now they make the IA2 rifle and 1911 style pistols). Since those guns are not safe, we are questioning Taurus and the Gov't why we can't import Glocks, M&Ps, or any good quality weapons that are safe and will work properly. Here in Brazil it's almost impossible for civilians to own firearms, we need to be either a cop or military and we can only buy a Taurus, so guys, if you''re going to buy a gun in the USA, don't buy a Taurus, let this company go bankrupt because all they make is shitty products.

    i have 3 of the taurus and no problems with any of them,my pt145 pro is my daily carry and after being dropped 4 times over the years it has never misfired,never jammed or ftf with any decent ammo(i dont buy the cheapest ammo).i dont really care for the sights on any of them and wouldnt mind if they would change that to be more like my ruger.but then again im not just looking for something to bitch about or looking to sue them for my mistakes either.any weapon will and can misfire or jam if its used by folks that shouldnt be carrying a handgun or anyone without common sense or even if its dropped,no matter what safety features they have.they need a dumbass feature to prevent the gun from firing when held by someone just looking for something to sue over.i own rugers,smith and wessons,taurus's and it seems to me that mine work just fine when they are in my hands or on my body.
    its kinda like saying the gun was at fault for the mass shootings that have happened instead of the shooter holding it or the cars involved in a drunk driving crash instead of the drunk driver.people nowadays will blame anyone and anything if they think that greed will get them a dollar

    I'd hope a firearm wouldn't go off just cause it was "bumped" into in a holster. Also unless your in an active war zone it might not be necessary to keep one in the chamber.

      If it's a life or death situation and you only have a split second, and you have to put one in the chamber, that split second could be the difference between which side of the green grass your on..

    • @bikeracerdude
      @bikeracerdude Před 7 lety +2

      Malcham and Dodge,
      If you want an inexpensive, reliable pistol that has a lifetime
      warranty, ready parts availability, and good aftermarket support- get a
      S&W sd9ve.
      Personally, I wouldn't trust ANY Taurus model that isn't specifically listed in this video as "Are NOT being recalled", even if it isn't listed as "being recalled"... (And the 809 and 845 aren't even listed on their website- because they're discontinued models- are parts even available?)
      The reason I say that is because Taurus probably won't list any pistol as questionable- if it hasn't specifically been listed as problematic in the class action lawsuit against Taurus...
      And for liability reasons, they're very specific about which pistols ARE safe... But I noticed they have eight pistols on display as "NOT part of the recall", but the narrator of the video NEVER touched the three on the left side of our screens!

  • @94SexyStang
    @94SexyStang Před 6 lety +11

    EVERY gun manufacturer has recalls and issues on a regular basis!!!! Glock, SIG, S&W, Remington, etc......Google your favorite gun right now, GUARANTEE you'll find a recall somewhere.......I'm not defending Taurus, but Firearm recalls are NORMAL business, as models and designs change....It's exactly the same thing with Cars.....It's like people who talk shit about Ford or Chevy, meanwhile their Toyota is driving around with 8 different active recalls....but their too IGNORANT to go online and Look, because they don't want to admit their whole Biased Viewpoint is total bullshit.

    • @bikeracerdude
      @bikeracerdude Před 6 lety

      Taurus was forced to RECALL, by Class Action Lawsuit alleging 13 DEATHS and Numerous Injuries, and the internet is full of people complaining they were only given $150-200 ($200 was the max refund) regardless of what they paid for their pistols, and most replacement pistols are whatever Taurus sends the customer- regardless of what model/caliber the customer returned. I'm still shocked people are standing by the brand, but they are INEXPENSIVE- and most people love CHEAP.
      Both American companies S&W and Ruger make very good quality, inexpensive pistols, that have lifetime warranties that are serviced in the U.S.
