Yes beautiful car, but they weren't "made well" at all. They always broke down. You don't see any of the cars today broken down on the side of the road like the old ones did. Always overheated. Beautiful interiors and iconic exterior's but shitty mechanically.

@@philly6266 I echo @Peter455sd, These cars were way better built than Lincolns and Cadillac's of the same year. They DID NOT OVER HEAT. They did suffer the same issues of ALL malaise era big three cars of vacuum driven components. The lean burn system was the first computer controlled electronic ignition system that had issues but nothing like Lincoln's vacuum and general lack of quality system components. My Dad owned repair shops from 1955 through 1994 and the 440 with the 727 transmission was the most reliable big block, drive train produced by the big three, from 1965 clear through 1978. We had one customer who owned one of these cars and was driving it and heartbroken when by Dad shut down his shop, as he'd maintained the car from 1980 on. If memory serves me correctly that car had over 150K and running strong, while people who bought Lincolns couldn't wait for the lease to end or sell them as soon as warranty was up. Total junk. I'm not sure you have a clue of what you speak.

Gentleman, this is Bill, the guy doing the walk around. For starters this video was prepared for Bring a Trailer for it to be listed in the auction and I had no clue until yesterday that it had 12,000 views and tons of comments. Little disappointed other car guys question my credibility because this car doesn't have a price or listed on my website. I bought this car SPECIFICALLY to be listed on Bring a Trailer, an online AUCTION site! I even say in the video that it is prepared for Bring a Trailer and at the end I specifically say, "good luck bidding". Not sure how that makes me shady or crooked. Pretty shocked about that. I have sold 26 plus cars on BAT with stellar feedback! Maybe some of you don't know what BAT (Bring a Trailer) is, but once you do you will understand why it is not priced or listed on my website.
As to all the crazy comments about how I am making excuses for this car. Although it only has a tick over 500 miles, it is STILL a 43 year old car. I go around and point out every singe flaw I can find, no matter how minimal. MOST buyers just buy these cars based on my pics and videos so I have to tell it like it is! I would think most of you would appreciate the honesty and transparency. And we try to do no more than we have to in regards to trying to keeping it totally original. If it needs new plugs, or fluids or tires, or brake boosters, or whatever, we want the car to be road worthy. Again, it is a 43 year old car. So for those who are truly buyers, this car will be hitting Bring a Trailer in the next couple 2 or 3 weeks. And keep in mind, only the BEST cars are accepted on BAT! Thanks guys and gals!

Such a beautiful car! One thing I have never figured out with how some dealers prep a collector car for sale: why oh why do they insist upon using a parts store "close enough" touch up paint and brush touch up paint on chips? Yeah I know the little touch up bottle is only a couple of bucks vs. paying a professional painter $250 to mix up an exact blend and use his skill to expertly fill in chips so they don't stand out. Kudos to you and the dealer you bought the car from for actually doing reconditioning and trying to make everything to be in working order. More and more I am finding that even so called classic and collectible car dealers are doing zero reconditioning/repairs - some are not even doing a proper detailing, opting instead just for a standard in-house wash and vacuuming before lumping it out with the other sleds for sale.

@@christianbugatticg Thank you for replying, and yes it can be fixed. Usually I have had painters who start with the factory mix, then tint/age it and do some sample spray outs to find the best match. Every painter seems to have some of their own tricks for how to fill in and level the chips. I've had the greatest success with hard to detect paint chip fill ins on white and lighter colors. This 1976 car is 25 years old and even though it is very low mileage the paint has aged. That, and the original paint is NLA means that it needs a painter with a sensitive eye to do this right. This appears to be a very nice car that if the next owner is willing to spend the time and money it could become a genuine stunner.

Buick, Lincoln, and now Ford don't make a full size car. My wife refuses to drive SUV's and I can't stand the ride of a truck, since that's what I drive daily. The problem with the malaise cars is mileage and all the vacuum issues of emissions, so we're looking into alternative emission system or even drivetrain swap. For what manufacturer's want for a new full size car, those who still make them, we have plenty of room to build a classic restromod cruiser. LOL! What are people supposed to do? I mean seriously.

Too bad about the paint chips and tearing the tire. Otherwise, wow!
My dad bought a 67 New Yorker 2 door new with the 440 Commando. He was 28 at the time. In a world full of muscle cars he went for a pillow soft ride with huge power. One of his previous cars was a Cadillac. Muscle cars never tripped his trigger. He also bought a 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale, white with a super soft velour interior. That was the last of his cushy cars. He changed gears and bought Suburbans and Mercury Sables. He liked the 88 Mercury Sable with the 3.8. He definitely loved 30mpg on the interstates.

The trouble with buying a car like this as some sort of collectible or investment is that you can never, ever drive it. Every mile you put on this thing will depreciate its value since its value is in its 'from the showroom' appearance.
Which is sad since this is an awesome vehicle despite its horrible build quality and lousy gas mileage.

My parents bought it for their business use. It was a ( hope its gonna start model) I totaled my Firebird, first snow. The Chrysler was given to me and replaced by an Eldorado. I borrowed the Caddy a-lot. The Chrysler was pretty, smooth and quiet when it wasn’t getting repaired at the dealer.
1973 to 1976 lemons! I traded mine in for a brand new 76, Caprice Classic coupe. The Chevy was much nicer, never failed to start. My parents had Imperials starting in 1960, first car we had w/ air conditioning. Thats when Chrysler was reliable! The dealer found two beer bottles in the driver’s door from the factory! In the 1976….I never bought another Chrysler product. I rented a few convertible models, they were goog, but not enough to buy.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....:-((
