@@bluethan806 Depends on what parts of the internet you frequent. I was gonna say that I'm pretty sure I've heard it used for at least a decade, and I went to check if I was remembering correctly, and there's a definition on Urban Dictionary for it dating back to 2004 - that's almost 20 years ago!

He talked in Mario Odyssey about the Hammer being from DK. Here he’s talking about how Mario’s two attack methods in RPG’s is Jumping and Hammers, which this game started.
In both Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi series you can Attack with Jumps or a Hammer.
I guess this is where hammers started being used in Mario RPG games.

I kinda agree with Arin that Geno isn't nearly as prominent in the game as I thought he was, based on his popularity. Sure he told you what was going on, but Mallow has way more lines and scenes and is hugely important to most plot lines.
Exactly. I've never played or watched SMRPG before this play through and now I wish Mallow was in more games but idc about Geno.

It's not about plot relevance that people like Geno so much, they just prefer him over Mallow as a party member. The issue with the Grumps is Danny never once used him correctly (or any of the characters for that matter) but the game is so easy it hardly matters. Point is, this is not the playthrough to watch to gauge why people like certain characters over others lol.

1:01:40 I remember spending at least an hour on the 3D maze portion, by far the most frustrating thing in the game.
The worst part is that the hint that they give you is redundant (it has 2 vowels) once you realize the 4th room's hint says that the word has 4 consonants.
I just kept jumping around till I somehow made it out.

This is one of the only playthroughs they did that I watched from start to finish with a smile on my face.
The way Geno says "We know about you!" when he first meets Mario sounds really accusatory.
He's an alien star being that possessed the geno doll, it's not supposed to but can. It just means He's aware of everyone in the cosmos.
He watches game theory and now knows Mario is a sociopath.

This game was one of the earliest ones I played. I had a super Nintendo and I remember getting this game for my birthday. I wasn’t good enough to actually beat the game, but I had a lot of fun playing it. Theme game grumps play it and be hilarious all the way through is really one of the greatest moments for me :-)
This goes unsaid most of the time, but I really appreciate Arin calling out Bill Maher for being the fraud he is.
This is my first time watching Mario RPG and I kinda get why people want Geno in Smash but I wish I could experience this as a kid
I sorta get it, but for me, Geno felt like a pretty static character.
But considering they put a goddam Pirahna Plant in smash, it sort of fruitless to argue against it.

Also... Fucking Timed Geno Whirl is the most satisfying thing to exist in the franchise. 1/24 or 2/24 frame window to input it, but it does 9999 and just... UNF. Shit was so good.

I know, I can't stand the "last time on game grumps" intros
Honestly, they’re kinda good for watching the series as it comes out, if you have 2 or 3 days between episodes of the series you’re invested in your memory is going to be a bit hazy and that last time can jog it, but the inconvenience of skipping them manually if you’re bingeing can suck. The happy medium of giving you the best of both worlds would obviously be using the chapters features to show when the episode starts and I think when you make playlists there’s a way to set the start times on videos using the clip feature? If that still works they could cut the recaps like a few streaming services do.
