- An update to my pet room! African Pygmy Hedghogs, Brazilian Short Tailed Opossums, Turtles, Fish, Cockatiel, Parrotlet, Rankins/Renkins Dragons, Leatherback Bearded Dragons, Columbian Redtail Boas, and more!

saltwater tanks are really awesome and rewarding! They do take a lot of care to keep them running well, but that is half the fun and reward.

@alloutanimals both are big commitments. Think about it hard and decide what you think you want. Both make great pets.

2: DONT BANG ON YOUR BIRD CAGE
3: don't keep cockatiels with other species of birds cus DUH THEY WILL FIGHT
4:wire wheels are horrible for hedgehogs feet and any other kind of pet!

You do t need do be hating on him because he probably breeds pets for a living and spends time with every single one of the animals

2. Awesome :) yeah, females seem to get larger I guess
3. They can smell, especially in the morning if after they have been running around and pooping/peeing in their cage. But usually mine don't smell for 4 to 5 days, then I clean again.
4. Locally, I can't ship them yet.

@BooMz44 hedgehogs range from $100 to $250 usually, and a cage can vary greatly as well, just depends what type of setup you get.

@grubbadub420 Thanks! Yeah, he is just to much of a pig and he poops a lot. He causes the tank to get dirty really fast because I have to throw in a lot of extra food so the turtles even get some. I'll get rid of him soon. I hope you get a hedgehog soon! They are great pets!

Actually between the two of them, I had 16 awesome years with them. Both passed from old age. I didn't mean to offend you if I did. I was lucky I guess, I had a huge farm to raise my animals growing up. My hedgies had free roam of the house and free access to a 8x10 caged flower garden/habitat. I also had chickens, turkeys, geese, swans, ducks, and peacocks. I've rehabbed owls, rabbits, hawks, fox, raccoons,even a couple hummingbirds. Again I didn't mean to offend you. Peace

@jh1313luv let him/her get used to the new cage for about 2 days. And it is recommended by some to put a 'dirty' tshirt, sock, anything in the cage(to help them get used to your scent). Then start handling.
birds belong to the sky. 1 thing they're born 2 do man..FLY! and humans wudn' let 'em do THAT either :( i jz go to the park regularly evry morning and feed the freee birds... thats fun itself. i havn missed a day in more than a decade. u'll enjoy it more, i promise. wn they cme 2 u on their own THE BEST FEELING EVR!!

I often feed outdoor birds and ducks. I agree it is fun!
At my dads house we have a huge outdoor cage. We have a couple parakeets and a cockatoo. They are all pretty cool. I am just pointing this out because not everyone has their bird in a cage like that. I personally find nothing wrong with having birds in cages, but you have your own opinion and I respect that.

@AndresKing111 once a week I do a complete empty, wipe down, and refil, and during the week I spot clean a couple times.

well no pet is really 'better' than another. I prefer razorback musks for their looks; however, both make great pets.
i wanted a hedgehog so bad but then i got into the saltwater fish hobby haha
@fatfrogz It's a 40gallon. All my turtles are small species, and all are male, none will get over 6inches, and the Texas map is almost fully grown already. I also plan to get rid of the oscar as I mentioned and have this just be a turtle tank(although there is an upside down catfish and a pleco in there, but they hide always, I see them like once a month.)

hedgehogs aren't supposed to have wire wheels. They have to have closed ones, or else their feet can get caught in the wire and they can break their legs.
@stitchkinz yes I got rid of the oscar cus he was eating all the turtles food before they had much of a chance to get any!

yes, and no. I did think of family guy when he as named, but it was't just because of the show that heis named stewie. I was trying to think of a name for him and the name stewie stuck,.
@henham97 Hmm, I would have to see a picture. There are white and black oscars, and the white ones sometimes do have a pink tint. Or, it may be a type of cichlid(which oscars are also cichlids).

Where are you located? I subscribed to you recently because I'm seriously considering adopting a hedgehog. My favorite breed is cinnamon. You have such great information on them and I love watching your videos.

@planky657 hehe cool! Maybe one day you will get more pets. Owning as many pets as I do is a lot of work, and I don't really recommend it unless it is something you really want to do.
Do these types of animals, Pygmy Hedgehogs make good pets? What is their life expectancy? I wondered what it would be like to have one for a classroom pet?
because cages at pet shops are way over priced, and plastic bins make way better cages at way less cost.

i know this vid was from 2010, but you have amazing pet rooms, im sure yyou have a alot more animals from them breeding, im slowly gonna start a pet room in my bedroom, even though im 14, but i have 2 ball pythons, 6month old female, and 1-2 yr old male! and been doing research since i was 9, anyway good luck to you! ;)
