    Thank you for sharing this! It's great to see people enjoying the sights and sounds of Hokkaido. I have an upcoming trip to Sapporo with the Hokkaido Tourism Agency x Rakuten Travel so I am going to take a few things from this guide.

    Nice video. A true poor traveler challenge I think would be going to lots of places using the Seishun 18 kippu ticket, haha.

    I’ve been to Hokkaido twice via Shinkansen. Doing a multi city tour with my JR Pass - it would save you a lot and you won’t feel like spending that much especially it is unlimitted on JR lines.
    I do trains to Hokkaido (Sapporo) to squeeze in some work while on transit - my efficient way of cleaning up my plate for some pile of work when i get back to the real world. hahaha
    Have you tried going to Abashiri? The Abashiri Drift Ice Cruise is a nice adventure to add in your bucket list. :)

    • @thepoortraveler
      @thepoortraveler  Před 3 lety

      True. We only use the train to Hokkaido when we're on a multi-city tour and with a JR Pass. Otherwise, fly talaga.
      We haven't been to Abashiri. :( Sige check namin! Sana makatravel na!

      @@thepoortraveler Sana nga po. I am missing Japan and all I can do is watch vlogs...
      Abashiri is quite far as in. Haha Northern part pa of Hokkaido and the Drift Ice Cruise i think i got my pass sa Klook and it is cheap. Hope to bump into you on my next Japan trip - soon...

    Thank you so much for this informative video! I am planning to travel from Sapporo to Otaru, Jozankei, and then Hakodate for a total of 7 days. Then from Hakodate we're traveling to Tokyo, Nagoya, and Hakone for a total of 9 days. Do you have any advice as to what the best financial option would be in terms of JR Pass? More specifically, would the Nationwide JR Pass (Whole Japan Rail Pass) be cheaper and cover all of these areas, or should I fly from Hakodate to Tokyo and buy separate passes (one for hokkaido and one for tokyo?) Thank you so much and I really appreciate your precious time and help!!

    • @thepoortraveler
      @thepoortraveler  Před rokem

      Hi JK! I don't know the latest airfare for Hakodate-Tokyo so I can't compare which is better now. But regardless, the 7-day JR Pass can pay off for the Hakodate-Tokyo-Nagoya-Hakone route (assuming all these journeys from Hakodate to Hakone will happen within a week).

    I really want start in to Sapporo, Hokkaido. I´d rather just fly from Sapporo to Osaka. I´m saving Tokyo for last, and want to leave the country from there.
