My therapist ( now retired) went to seminary and decided he enjoyed being a therapist instead. Best therapist ever, as he also provided spiritual direction, if that's what was needed. ✨
I concur about the benefits of going to a seminary. I went to my local seminary for a part time course for formation to the permanent diaconate (PD). Like the candidates for the priesthood there is a high attrition rate during formation for the PD.

If your intentions are just that, you could do that without entering seminary (many seminaries offer courses to laity). But if you wanted to discern the priesthood, you would be formed that direction and if you discern put, you were built as a man
