The weather’s getting warmer, so I’m starting to get excited about decorating our outdoor spaces! Over the years, I’ve done a lot of fun, colourful & budget-friendly outdoor makeovers. I hired my neighbor to hang string lights from the ceiling of my front porch. They are swagging back-and-forth at different intervals and so it looks very well put together but also kind of whimsical. I love them, and they are the envy of the neighborhood! When I have them on, and I’m sitting outside, I get compliments from people who walk by.

Love your folks balcony. I had no idea that hot glue would stand up through springs and the yo yos of ups and downs in climate that entails. Cute lakehouse porch! ❤

Definitely want to attempt building the outdoor bench in time for our winter (I’m from South Africa 🇿🇦) where my doggos and I can enjoy morning coffee (and snuggles for them) in the sun.

For folks putting up outdoor lights, think twice before putting up the Costco edison style lights in a tree. The eco plastic is corn or soy based, which the squirrels LOVE 😂. They "harvested" the bulbs. The lights would likely be fine if not hung connected to a tree, or if you're not in an area overrun by squirrels. 😊

Yes! That happened to us. I couldn’t understand why they were chewing the bulbs off. We still have it up but missing half the bulbs. Now it get it! 😃
