My Most 5 Favorite Zelda Games are:

This was a tough call for me but ultimately it came down to this:

I just had to go with my number one pick for a number of reasons: My first ever Zelda game, been ported to the Gameboy advance with extra stuff which is what I have, has (possibly)the most bosses in the series. The list goes on.

Johnny's list, Majoras Mask is the GOAT
The fact that people are really disrespecting Botw is completely disappointing. The game itself literally changed the whole atmosphere of open world games. The nostalgia will always be relevant for a long time. Without botw, there wouldn’t be a lot of games that’s currently on the market.
What matters is which game is just better or more fun to play and Breath of The Wild ended up like a demo or beta for Tears of The Kingdom.
Breath of The Wild has three massive flaws: the dungeons are pretty bad and a classic example of ubisoft copy paste, underdeveloped characters, boring world.
1. Wind Waker as it was my childhood
2. Twilight Princess as I love the darkness of it (atmosphere and story) and has the most temples in the franchise.
3. Majoras Mask for its beautifully sad theme and the Song of Healing
4. Tears of the Kingdom for its step up from BotW, the depths, sky islands etc
5. Ocarina of Time for introducing 3D to the franchise, not to mention its story and place in the timeline.

I've always Loved *The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, A Link Between Worlds and Tears of the Kingdom,* as all of My Most 5 Favorite Zelda Games of All Time.
Majora's Mask finally getting some respect on these lists. Twilight Princess is still my favorite though.
Not everyone will agree but my favourite game in the series is Twilight Princess, I could go back and play it over and over, it's just so good!
Ocarina Of Time 3D is the best way to play, so much nicer looking and the controls are much better! Still haven't played Wind Waker, I don't know why but I know I need to play it.

It’s hard to disagree with anybody’s lists as most games in the series are just incredible. Really hoping for Twilight Princess/Wind Waker ports for the switch as they’re two I never really played

I remember playing A Link to the Past on my GameBoy. Truly one of my favorite nostalgic games ever!
Majora’s mask is an amazing game. It has one of my favorite boss fights in Goht. Having to replay that multiple times to thaw the goron area to collect all the supplies for the gilded sword or other stuff was really fun. Love the mechanic of racing around the track and attempting to ram into it.

My personal favorite is Twilight Princess but then again its the only one I've beaten lol. Played a bunch of them tho but yeah something about the tone in that game really hooked me.
Twilight princes and ocarina of time are my two favourites!
No love for Link: The Faces of Evil or Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon? You need to do better MojoPlays
I actually have a soft spot for them for how bad they are I find them hysterical especially faces of evil I mean who can forget the game grumps famous “you must die!” 😂

1: Zelda: Wind Waker
A Timeless Classic from the GameCube Era, I love the story and the art style and gameplay.
2: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
An improvement over it's predecessor in Story and Gameplay, it reminds me of Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword, which is why I love it.
3: Zelda: Majora's Mask
An incredible sequel, while shorter than Oot it makes up for it with a mature and meaningful story and gameplay improvements.
4: Zelda: Ocarina of Time
One of the first games I ever played, it set the groundwork for years to come and one of the greatest games of all time.
5: Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The first Game I played on the Nintendo Switch, the open world and new gameplay is a solid start for what is to come in the future.
6: Zelda: Link's Awaking Remake
I first tried this game on the Game Boy but I couldn't wrap my head around 2D Zelda at the time, when the remake was ancounced I brought it and finally got to enjoy what made every love the game in the first place.
7: Zelda: Twilight Princess
I enjoy this game as it reminds me of Oot and MM in terms of story and themes, the gameplay is interesting as well as the wolf play and it felt like a step towards a more open experience.
8: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
I missed out on the Wii version but I managed to play the Switch version, I enjoyed the story and the even the motion controls for Sword play as well as the different areas.
9: Zelda: The Minish Cap
I am still playing through the game but from what I am playing it is really good. The soundtrack and story in particular.
10: Zelda: A Link to the Past
A starting point in Zelda, I didn't enjoy it as much as LA but it is still an awesome game that is worth checking out.

Great video! Every player have they favorites but you've picked yours respectfully. Ocarina was my first "Zelda" game in 1998 (I had a Super Nintendo and a Nintendo 8 bits but haven't played the 3 first games - was too young) and the memories are GREAT... Majora's was quite a journey, so much love for this game, and Wind Waker...WOW! I was waiting for a "realistic" Zelda after the Link x Ganondorf showcase before Game Cube's launching but... WOW! Wind Waker was mind blowing! Loved it so much!
My list (today):
1 - Tears of the Kingdom (They've payed respect for every single aspect of the franchise and did a GREAT game, maybe the best of all time now)
2 - Wind Waker - Back in 2002 I can't see but...that game is MEMORABLE. Aged so well and was FANTASTIC at the time. One of the best games of all times.
3 - Ocarina of time - G.O.A.T - Was my favorite and maybe will be forever but...Wind Waker was so underrated and Tears is so great! >.<
4 - Majora's Mask - Unique!
5 - Link's Awakening and the Remake - A mixed of many feelings, so good, so sad, incredible for a game boy game!

I thought about leaving BOTW off of the list because I'm not sure if I'll ever play it again, as TOTK is better in basically every single way; but I had more fun with it than the other three in my list.

The Legend of Zelda is one of my fav gameseries and my top 5 Zelda games are Wind Waker Hd, Twilight Princess, A Link Between world, Botw and Skyward Sword. I really want to buy and play Totk too. And its awesome Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasoms are now on Nintendo Switch. Ps Im interested of Zelda Spirit Track ds game too. 🔥🔥

6. Twilight princess: typical Zelda game. Ocarina of time did better.
5. Skyward Sword (Switch): I enjoyed it and thought the controls where good after some practice.
4. Ocarina of time (3ds): After skyward sword, I was relieved for having such a simplified sword system. Thought it was uncomfortable because of how big my hands were but got used to it.
3. Spirit tracks: I like the train music and probably the only one who liked the stylus control’s. (Also nostalgia for being the first Zelda game I’ve played a good chunk through.)
2. Breath of the wild: I enjoyed exploring every inch of the map and I love the mastercycle.
1. Tears of the kingdom: breath of the wild but 10x better. I enjoyed most of the bosses, and dungeons, as well as all the powers you get from the great sky island.
I honestly can't decide what Zelda game was the best. Especially when I've played some of them and still liked them
It’s hard to decide on my top 5, esp because I FAR prefer 3D Zelda to 2D. 1-3 are solid, it’s 4 and 5 that I struggle to decide on:
1) Tears of the Kingdom (yeah, recency bias, but the unlimited freedom plus the ways it feels rewarding to have played so many other games plus the creativity makes this game feel so special. Also, no other Zelda’s have made me care about side quests or have any desire to do them).
2) Wind Waker HD (objectively has meh bosses and dungeons but the ocean and the music and design)
3) Skyward Sword HD (don’t at me, played after BOTW and really appreciated the tight level design and story/music)
4/5) some mix of Awakening, Ocarina, Twilight, and BOTW.
Awakening is great but doesn’t hit the highs of the other 3 games, Ocarina is objectively legendary and has maybe the best dungeon/boss layout, but it’s been so long since I’ve beat it and it doesn’t hit the emotional highs and climactic endings of the later entries, even if it is more well rounded overall. Twilight is under appreciated but I still find it kind of monotonous when it’s not doing story stuff. Partway through a replay so might change. I loved BotW and think it’s innovations are incredible, and I think it’s the right direction for the series. But parts of it have grown to bug me a bit in ways that I’ve found seem to make me less likely to replay it compared to something like Wind Waker. Maybe it’s the feeling that I’ve already seen everything there is to see but it doesn’t have the bosses or story or emotion to feel like I need another play through. If I had to choose probably Awakening and BotW for 4 & 5

Giant zelda fan here and while i agree with your lists, the fact that twilight princess isn't on either is hurtful to me
No zelda game would ever top Majora's Mask in terms of Atmosphere, story and design.
So tears of the Kingdom didn't have story or atmosphere? Atmosphere most definitely. Story was also great. There are 3 areas to explore now.
@@hotrod8481in my opinion TOTK emphasize too much on making everything "fun" rather than coherent or immersing. I mean, fusing your weapon with random objects and crafting stuff can be fun, but it seems like they are made solely for that purpose and nothing beyond.

I want to make a distinction here that my favorites are not the same as what I think are the greatest. I think TotK is the greatest game I've played, closely followed by BotW, and both of them are in my top 5 favorites too but nostalgia plays into "favorite" so they're not at the top for me.

Playing the Zelda games have been fun, they are way different than Mario and much more complicated then Kingdom Hearts, they are the adventures of a lifetime. I've played Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess.
11:28 a great pick! But the 3DS version is better and easier so it’s a matter of preference you like hard I like breeze/easy games.
Nintendo could literally print money if they just remastered or remake ocarina of time and Majora's mask

Just replayed majoras mask about a week or so ago (around the 4th play through ever), and I’m disappointed to say that, that games actual gameplay has not stood the test of time. Really found it a tough play at times if I’m honest (100% too). That being said I still have a great deal of nostalgia for it and enjoy the development of a lot of the characters over the story, it’s certainly unique. Just as a side note I play it through after also replaying ocarina of time (for like the 11th time hahahah) and that game is still a dream to play.

I think we can all agree that the real reason The wind waker HD is better is because they made the triforce quest more tolerable.
