    I would check that the hole in the bleed screw isn't blocked with crud. If sourcing another is difficult, maybe file some flats in the bleed screw and reuse it. Also try using the centre of the vice jaws for a better grip. I've used slightly smaller sockets hammered onto mangled bolt heads etc.

      On closer examination it looks like the screw has been tightened down so much it's crushed the end.

    To be honest if it was that difficult to remove I would have left it alone and bleed the system by the banjo bolt. Loosening and tightening. Whilst pumping handle. Or pipe fitting etc. If its steel bleed nipple grind down where hex was then drill out a nut Weld nut on nipple then drill out Weld and redo pin hole. Just an idea. George anyway hope you sort it. ❤

      Thanks George, I did manage to find some replacement bleed screws on eBay in the end. The old one was completely squished at the end!

      Turned out to be 8 x 1.25 🙂
