This is a pretty straight forward job to do, A bit trickier for me as I am in a wheelchair.
Wow M8
You fooled me !!!
had no idea,
Wondered why you're Mrs was doing the running around,
What a gal 👏
Wheelchair or not, you did most of it this time. Good job! 👍🏻👍🏻
Well done buddy salute to you 🍻
Nice one Ben I'm just about to put a 13 pin socket on mine, the problem is that I don't have a spare wheel in the well, but an 80 litre LPG tank in there and I'm hoping that I don't have to disconnect and remove that tank to run the wiring, and get to the earth tags lol
Good man
Brilliant video!!! Anyone else think he sounds like nick frost?!
Not the first time I’ve heard that.
Mate can you help me out with a question I have about the square grommet? I want to remove my towing electrics but and struggling to find a grommet to plug the hole? I’m guessing you have to make the hole in the grommet for the wires to push through the boot??
Darren Talbot mine had previously had the towing electrics removed due to an mot failure. So when I went to reinstall new towing electrics the grommet was already in the back of the car.
Hello, I have the same RR as yourself. The bolt with the R clip on, it it a bolt or a pin? I only ask as I’ve just bought a tow bar like yours and it doesn’t come with one. Thanks
It is a long bolt with a nut, the R clip I believe is there to stop the nut from coming undone.
What was the outcome, Ben? Did everything work as it should once you connected the trailer? (This next bit is probably more interesting to N. American owners). I'm asking because I fitted the same unit to my Canadian. 05. This required a 13 to 7-pin adapter annnnd then a 7 to a flat 4-pin for use on uHaul rental trailers. Using a test lamp, I have brake and indicators but no side lights. Interestingly enough, I had a dash warning saying to check a trailer light! I was just wondering if it has to have the trailer connected for continuity? Guess I'll find out soon.
Yes all worked as it should. Connected a trailer up, it then disables the suspension from changing out of normal ride height, and the lowering at 50mph (on the earlier L322's). Stopped the rear parking sensors from working and the trailer light came up on the dash when using the indicators. You have to be careful with newer trailer that have LED lights, as sometimes the Range Rover can't detect it's connected due to low power requirements of the LED lights.
Hi mate, I have the same wiring loom but can’t find an ecu for it. What make is it please as mine has no labels. Many thanks
Britpart I think.
G Day Ben

Many thanks Ben
Sensational
Cheers M8
Nice video...I noticed your kit ( as mine) did not include the two hole exterior mounting bracket..Where did you get yours?..thank you. Michael
Mike Staryk I got it from eBay. id number 142190682667. I had to modify it a little bit but it went on.
Frustrated...installation was as simple as you demonstrated..my 2006 Range Rover trailer electrics only has turn indicators, hazards and brake lights...all wired correctly..has anyone experienced this?..( trailer works fine with daughters truck so trailer issue ruled out)
Clarification : only running lights dont work...
Great video...could not have been easier to install...that said...my running lights on trailer dont work..was told its because i have led's...does your trailer run led's or regular bulbs?
I've not looked at our trailer but almost sure its bulbs, I could be wrong. Do the running lights on your trailer work independently from the others? On ours the running lights come on when I switch on the side lights on the car. Being leds or bulbs shouldn't make much difference really if its getting a feed from the towing venicle.
@@BensgarageThank you.. mine dont turn on when i turn on side markers or headlights..its the same lights that are instructed to brighten ( brake applied) ..blink ( indicator or hazards)...or light ( running/headlights)..its logical that the difference could be the issue...not sure how to test other than ask those that have purchased our same wiring kit..LRdirect is no help
Do you have any idea if the module you have is compatible with the 2011 model as well?
Depends where you are in the world as it does state not suitable for Canada, Mexico and the USA, but this one is for ALL L322's. eu.paddockspares.com/ywc000840-electronic-module.html
Also the kits go by the chassis number. eu.paddockspares.com/ywj500450-kit-tow-bar-electrics.html
I've got a different model towbar and module, but it's an European one the car itself is also European, so hopefully it'll work.
Thanks for the answer, really appreciate it.
Hey Ben,sorry to bother you again. Do you have the schema the wires of the module or know where I can find one.
Where can i buy this ? Can u find it and send me link ?
A quick search brings up this page, there are a few choices. 13pin or 7 pin. www.paddockspares.com/parts-and-accessories/range-rover-l322/towing.html
how do you control the braking
Here in Europe (and the UK) the trailer does the braking, it is not controlled by the car.
@@Bensgarage ok so what dose the part you have fitted do, whats it purpose
@@knares1 it operates all the trailer lights, and tells the car that a trailer is connected. On the Range Rover it automatically lowers the suspension at a certain speed, once the trailer is connected up, the car will stay level and not lower itself. Keeping the towing hitch level with the trailer.
@@Bensgarage ok thanks
Ohhhh
