Christmas morning 1995 little 12 year old me loading this up at 5am, I remember the sigh of relief when it was actually really good, I had ptsd from street fighter 2 the year before. Also, we used to play liu kang vs Johnny cage a lot because you didn't need to load any other discs as they were the demo reel.
This takes me back :) I had a genuine copy though so only had 3 disks to deal with. Alkso, if you stick another MB of memory in your A600 you'll get Shao Khan announcing the names etc
I used to play games on a ZX Spectrum, and we never battered an eye-lid at having to wait for cassettes to load/swapping them. Now though, it just seems insane!
@@Syklonus I have a second drive, my cousin had one as well. However, I always struggled copying MK2. I always wondered if any one had any real copies of the games. Majority of ours were copies.
@@ArttuTheCat yeah man some of them were relentless. Street fighter 2 had 3 disk swaps between each fight :( kings quest I remember had a lot of disks too.
Now this is a "Disk Jockey", eh? I remember on DOS, when unpacking ARJ files with Norton Commander, it would send you trough all disks every 10 seconds like shown here. 1, 3, 2, 1, 5, 1, 6, 1...
@@BelfastBandit Except this game looks worse that the Genesis version. And looks and sounds worse that the Super NES version. The Amiga was really showing its age at this point.

@@BelfastBandit Nah. Graphics on both Amiga versions are ass. Missing animations, missing scenery, low color counts. Please, the plug-and-play version looks better.
Flipping heck, that's something I've not seen in a long time, forgot all about the load times/disk swapping. Floppy Disks are that obsolete now, that kids just associate them with the 'save' icon.
This is why I upgraded to whd load but saying that after the jump from the c64 speccy ect.... The Amiga seemed extremely fast. The floppy could have done better being a 1.44mb drive.

It was programmed for the 500 (and sold as such) so that all Amiga owners could play it. It just so happened to be near unplayable on those, as you note, but needing to keep it for the lowest powered machine hamstrung the port as a whole.
I'm glad I stuck to the SNES, Genesis, and 32X versions. You didn't have to go through all of this crap to play the game on those, and they were much better than this shit version.
The sound of the disk loading just transported me back 25 years. What a ride.

I was always excited at the cool loading screen picture before it came on.😊
That's why two disk drives is beautiful. That's what I had when I had the Amiga 500, I also had ram expansion too.
its not. i checked online and wikipedia. it actually came out for amiga. not everything is AI. also i didn't even know this either.
Amiga had the best soundtrack.
I still have Amiga 500 + games, joysticks and mouse...
And i am not going to lose them 😺👍🕹️!
Greetings from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.
5 years later you actually get to start playing
Those memories......good old times.
this is the cracked version on four disks. the original game was released on 3 disks.
most gamers at this time had a second floppy drive.
Bullshit! I knew no one with a second drive back then, except one spoiled brat which no one liked.
@@Syklonus I have a second drive, my cousin had one as well. However, I always struggled copying MK2. I always wondered if any one had any real copies of the games. Majority of ours were copies.
We had lots of free time. And you had to change the disks during fatalities!
Imagine speedrunning this game using this system
Best computer I ever had I remember all those disk swaps! 😅
I still have the Amiga 500 computer + lots of games. The biggest game i ever had on the Amiga was MONKEY ISLAND 2 (11 disks). 😺👍

It is refreshing my memory at a point I feel very old now :-)
I'm 38 years old and still own the Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 - and also play them. 😺👍🕹️
then someone has a genesis and they just put the cart in, flip a switch and the whole game is loaded
Or a SNES
With cut sound quality etc, nahh was worth the wait.

Thank you so much for Vid. It's amazing. Reminds me of past days. 👍👍
I remember Super Street Fighter II came on something crazy like 11 disks.
Image ratio fail on your monitor dude, Amiga is 4:3.
You can put a hard Drive and some memory and the game runs with no disk swap
Lol. It was ok on 1200 it preloaded everything so you didn’t have to change disks to do fatalities etc.

I wish back then we could just skip the loading times.

The original id on three disks, so this isn't real time.
What's a Loading?
Longshoreman X what? XD
did yOU died?1?
Longshoreman X When youre waiting for your game to be installed and Updated (it all became full circle)
lmao
big ass pain ever swap every 5-6 flopyy disc
and wait long loadig time is fuckup as well
Hey some body blows going
Thats one more reason that people abandon Amiga and focus on MD/Snes
I was loyal to amiga till the end. Never had a 16 bit console until 1998. You are all just brats
@@ajsingh4545 Didnt know that Amiga existed in India.
Yeah it's unplayable on 500 and 600 noob. Try 1200 it pre-loads everything and there's no disk swapping in game.

This version is far from shut. If you play amiga using emulstion, which eliminates the disc swaps and loading. It's a very decent version.
FOUR disks... That's gotta stink
