Before I purchased my car, I read every word of every document before I signed the contract. An employee in the business office asked if I was an attorney. I ended up paying my car off three years early instead of being obligated to the 5 year contract. 😊
Because you took the time to read every word, you learned of the "obligated to the 5 year contract" phrase. Good job.
If you pay cash for a car, you don't need to sign anything.
@@Nigriff yes, that is my futuref plan
I sure wish we could get students to read and understand their student loan debt.
What does reading every word have to do with paying off a loan early? If that is the case the only word you need to have looked for was prepayment penalty.
You could have read every word and still paid off in 5 years. You could have read every word and paid off in 2 months.
Love Jade and Dave when they team up...great combo.
When parents and teachers refuse to say "no" to children, they never learn to say "no" for themselves and don't take accountability for their actions.
For the record, teachers know how to say “no!” It’s parenting that’s changed the most.
Call #1 - with the roofer. I've said this before. When you are not satisfied with anything having to do with construction and businesses, report it to the state licensing board. They follow through and they will investigate and not only make life miserable for that individual, they will get him in trouble if he is not doing everything legitimately above board. Bad reviews on social media are also effective.
If you sign a document saying you will pay and then don't pay, the state licensing board will punish the victim who didn't get paid?
Also make sure you pay your contractors when they do good work for you. And leave them good reviews. Balance.
Agreed. Half the battle is finding out the right licensing board to report them to. Once they start investigating it the person will very quickly try and fix the situation. I had a mortgage broker fail to refund me for over 6 months. Until he was under investigation for fraud. Then he refunded me real quick. And he begged me to tell the state I received my refund 😂😂
She should have dropper his company name on that call
The issue is people are expecting their parents, friends, kids, and GOVERNMENT to take care of their problems.
Colton is a gem. I hope he is seriously appreciated in his job. CONGRATULATIONS to him. 🎉
Colton has the energy and passion that any and all businesses should strive to find. I hope him the absolute best!

After all these years I STILL LOVE your opening song!!! 🎵❤️Please never change it!!
They DID change for a few years. "Baker Street" disappeared from the show.
@@davidb2206very interesting indeed
LOL! Every once in a while I add a comment that begs for a new song! They are ruining it for me. Overused by a mile, IMO. I bet they pay a pretty penny to use it. 😊
@@tmusa2002 Dave might pay for that song, but he can afford it and pay cash! That song is iconic and they need to keep it! 🎵
@@Curious-Lass okay! I immediately skip as soon as it starts. You keep listening tho! 🙂
Dave is right.... Not having seen the Wizard of Oz, well into your 30's, is just wild
I think it’s very responsible of Ramsey to not accept credit card on their website. It shows they really believe in what they are saying. Most financial influencers would take your money any way possible
Plenty of commenters who have tried it said that the site does indeed accept credit cards. It make no distinction between debit and credit. The wording simply asks for "debit."
@@myoldvhstapes we’ll that’s disappointing lol. I was wondering how they even would do that short of making you input a PIN
@@BradDiBenedetto Yep, too good to be true.
I bought the John delony books and the QFH cards with a sofi card SOFI!!
I wonder if they are aware that it's accepting credit cards ... Or if they're able to actually prevent credit cards from a tech perspective? Might be that they saw they don't accept them but actually can't block that feature if they accept debit?
I love Jade and Dave as cohosts.
Social media is one of the main roots of many problems going on these days. Some state AG’s are suing Meta 🎉, for the kids, but a fantastic first step
I once had a dentist mess up my bite with invisaline - it was gunna take years to fix and i asked for a full refund and she refused. I posted a scathing book-long review on yelp at all of their locations - a week later they offered me a full refund of $3,500. I took it and went to a real orthodontist :) Reviews can work, depending in the business. Theyve since been bought out so Im glad I did it then.
Did they make you remove the post as a condition of the check?
I love when Dave pulls out his Cartmen voice 🤣
Dave talking about people getting caught up in buying a new car because they had money because they weren't paying their bills or student loans and getting subsidies from the government during covid almost sounds exactly like the conversation i was having with someone about people in same situation who decided to adopt pets and now the humane societies and rescues are overly full because people returned the dogs or cats now that they went back to work and no longer have time for those pets. Stupid!
The poor animals don’t deserve it either.
A lot of people in general are dumb and act on impulse. They never think ahead which is why they make decisions that don't play out long term.
37:50…. I don’t like you Dave…. “Well I wasn’t running a poll😂😂😂😂😂😂”
Love this show.. I googled the bible verse about the warrior. I found it ...“If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married” (Deut. 24:5).. Mainly back then was probably for the wife to have an offspring in case her husband died in battle. Either way, life is too hard, adjusting to each other the first year living together can be challenging. It reminds me of pre - k, learning to share and waiting your turn on playing with the next item..
Have an offspring with the possibility of your hubby dying in war? Back then? When there was no life insurance? So you can STRUGGLE AS A SINGLE MOM! ? Lol. Yea no.
...Google the ones condoning slavery and keeping the virgins for yourself after you genocide their family...
Usually if one truth is in conflict with another truth *NEITHER* of them is the truth, and the real truth is somewhere in the middle.
Last call with the women who is buying a house and wants to know what the boyfriend should pay towards expenses - All of these complicated live-in relationships really lead to problems when people are sharing costs and then deciding who owns what. I wouldn't buy cloth furnishings used, but I'd buy wood furniture in the thrift store where you can find some great deals. Dave is right that live-in relationships generally turn out worse for women than for men. Over and over on this show women call in with sob stories because they did not prepare to support themselves if needed - and they always blame the men, rather than recognizing they were responsible for choosing a loser. Don't know why women never figure out that if the milk is free, why would someone buy a cow?
Also, birth control is an absolute necessity when you are not married. ..even AFTER you are married until you have saved at least $10,000 for daycare, baby expenses..find out what your noninsurance covered hospital costs per baby would be. You would have to be SO ignorant of the news to not know this.
Abstinence
Because why take the whole pig when you can get the sausage for free?
And the common opinion is to move in before marriage. My experience taught me to wait. You can see how someone lives without fully moving in. I just think there are more cons than pros moving in before marriage.
@@Joce123my grandpa used to say the same thing, why buy the cow if the milk is free.
I have consistently watched this show since 2019, and I’m glad that I continue to learn new things from Dave. I knew the “credit boost” must’ve had a catch. I’m glad this topic was reviewed today.
Ok
Hey everyone! Since i started following The Ramsey show I've been a member of this amazing society of investors for a while now, and I can't articulate how much it has transformed my life. We're not just here to earn money; we're here to uphold one another, grow collectively, and rejoice in every stride toward our financial aspirations.
Your words really hit home. I'm talking about Mrs. Bianca Faye Lindsey, the expert. She's more than just market insights; she's helped me grasp who I am as an investor. I've discovered my path, and my portfolio proves it. Together, we're not just trading; we're shaping our futures. Here's to making wise moves and sharing our real successes! 🚀💪💰
Damon, your story is inspiring. With Bianca's guidance, we've learned discipline, resilience, and the importance of continuous learning. Let's keep growing as investors and supporting one another for lasting success. Cheers to growth!
Even though I'm not a subscriber to this channel, this isn't the first time I've heard about Mrs. Bianca. I've heard her dedication to her clients is remarkable, and she doesn't just analyze market trends but also listens to her clients' concerns. Unfortunately, I have no way to reach her or get her attention as she's mostly booked.
Please How do i get to her i really need her services ?
Her training program has truly opened my eyes, and I'm genuinely grateful to have been a full-time participant in her daily signal service. I've been steadily growing and have boosted my portfolio from 1.5 BTC to over 5.5 BTC using her daily signals.
Love your hair Jade!
I like her natural hair a lot more than the braids, too - and she doesn't fiddle with it as much as she does with the braids.
@@Trustbutverify2651 Youre bothered by someone fiddling with their own hair? -____- That is absurd wth.
Somebody make sure Jade watches the Wizard of Oz
That was SO funny!
The story is really interesting. Frank Baum never intended it to be a children's story. It really came out of his own life and misfortunes when in 1888 the Midwest had one of the most serious droughts and the Baums, who had just moved there, were faced with bankruptcy. The original book is quite different from the movie, but it makes for interesting reading to look up the story of the Baum's life and why he wrote the story.
She is not alone I didn’t watch it either 😂
I've never seen it either! LOL
I appreciated your thoughts on the guy with the elderly parents thinking of buying a house. I’m 75 buying a house, cash $450 so I don’t have anything “tuggin’ at me. Good advice.
The girl that bought the house without furniture why not comb Facebook market place to buy and get gifted things for the beginning??
Marketplace is sketchy for anything im going to sit or lay on (ie bed bugs) so id personally go to a scratch and dent or 2nd hand store where there's a base level of certainty im not bringing something harmful into my home.
Definitely don't buy new though
The roof lady likely left some of the conversation out. I know as a business owner I have had people try to get me to commit insurance fraud by charging the insurance company for work that doesn’t necessarily need to be done and then promise to give me the extra money after they pull off the insurance fraud. why would one company be charging $12,000 extra to do a roof on a home? She conveniently left all of that part out.
I had a tree company try to charge me $300 for giving a dead tree vitamins without my authorization, so I wrote some stuff with black marker on their invoice and sent it back to them. Guess what I said! 🤣🤣🤣 I hadn’t signed anything though.
I love when the debt-free screams are from the pit of the stomach, hard not to get caught up in their emotion.
Enjoy watching this show!
Jade's hair looks so cute!
Smart of you to have taken advantage of the 0% pause on student loans.
Love the idea of being generous as part of the vision!
Dave mentions Gen Z, Millennial's and Boomers....but us Gen X'ers are left out LOL.
I agree.
Fine with me, leave us out of those conversations! Haha
I don't think it was intentional. You are an important demographic too.
I am not rich just out of debt. But it is so very satisfying to be able to finally just say, "how much?".
@22:00 congrats Melissa and Aaron!! Way to represent the 603!! My hometown is Alton- you guys must be around there somewhere!!
I think that may have been the greatest debt free scream I've ever seen!! Woohoo!! 🎉
All the screams should be like this. You only get one scream on the show 😂
The caller that called in from Columbia SC needs to tell her husband to find a different company to drive for asap. She said he doesn't doesn't own the truck but has to pay for the fuel and repairs. He's getting screwed please please please get out of that truck TODAY. IVE DONE IT IVE BEEN THERE. It's not worth it especially with these rates and fuel prices he probably isn't even making 100k a year
Funny how he calls it Biden bucks when we got two rounds of stimulus under Trump
Exactly!
Yup! I was waiting for this comment
*one round of stimulus under Trump and one under Biden
@@amireallythatgrumpy6508 Incorrect, just look it up. Point is his bias shows a lot.
I guess he forgot the stimulus checks were delayed because Trump wanted his signature on the checks.
Im in agreement with Dave’s recommendation to caller #2. Wait a year, after you’re married to buy a house.
I love this title!!!!!!
I’ve NEVER seen “The Wizard of Oz” either but I’ve definitely seen “THE WIZ”
Great job
also, second time i am commenting . Dave's cover shot on his book looks really really GOOD! to me, it is a relaxed, average day person dressing casual and that smile and posture and the beautiful background scenery. New to baby step 3 after 9 months. I feel like i am so far behind but im only 30.
1:26:13 Shawn you are smart! You can do this!
Love the hair, jade!!
Great Video.
First caller - if you sign something saying you will pay a fee if you don’t move forward with their services are you not obligated to pay? Don’t you always say to pay your debts if you signed up for them. The roofer can be scummy but still be owed money. Both things can be true. The lady made a crappy decision to sign the document saying she’d pay a fee and now she doesn’t want to pay the fee?
I constantly shop pawn shops ,Great deals on tools and such , Especially vintage guitars I'm step 7.
I'd also DEMAND a breakout of these "FEES" before payment.😊
I love watching these two together
Congratulations, Colton!!🎉🎉
RE: the roofing situation. I would ignore the collections and ignore the roofer. Not worth her time or stress. Forgive, forget, and move on. If the rest of her credit is good, won't make a dent.
The problem with being poor is we didnt put ourselves there . Were born into poor families in poor neighborhoods and its hard to get out.
And if that extra money you DON’T spend just sits in your higher % savings account then you DO make money!
Some married couple make sure everything they own are "separated" while others make sure they are "together". Guess which couple will work harder to make the marriage work and have a happier married life?
The ones who are so tethered together financially that out of fear they put up with all kinds of abuse just to stay married and."work together"..EVERY LEVEL OF INCOME..behind closed doors, cheaters, anger issues, ..nope. Marriage isn't for every relationship.
Some couples also invest very differently. I think the trick is to be open about all finances. The problem with separate finances for many couples is they keep what they are doing in their separate accounts secret.
@@Joce123 Marriage is definitely not for everyone because not everyone have relationship and communication skills to last in a relationship. But when people choose to marry, they should do it as a team. If you don't trust that person, why trust that person enough to marry and sleep with him/her?!?
@@Trustbutverify2651 Right. If people want to say "this is mine, mine, and mine" and not ours, ours, and ours, then don't get married. Be single and keep all the secrets one wants.
Thank you❤
Pastor and his wife are working part-time - why are they assuming they will not be working at all when they retire? I am "retired" but still working part-time and will continue as long as I can. Housing is a BIG problem for people in the ministry that have had housing provided for them as they can find themselves with no home when they retire and no ability to pay for one with a reduced income. Ministers should insist on a housing allowance, rather than a parsonage. One of the major reasons is that taxes are completely different for ministers and retired ministers than for non-clergy. Clergy do not pay tax on their housing expenses, which include all items related to the home like home insurance and even pest control. So a minister who has a salary of $70,000 but can deduct housing expenses of $25.000 pays income tax only on the remaining $45,000. The rules change somewhat for retired ministers which is a reason ministers should not be in any fly by night house church, but in a church under a specific denomination so he can get the same housing break on taxes in retirement. This is a point that either Dave does not know or he should have brought it up - and the major reason the pastor should buy a house now to be able to write this off for the next five years, a huge savings for someone on a limited income. You would not believe the pastors who try to do their own taxes and are completely unaware of this tax break! Not even all tax preparers are trained to do the taxes of the clergy correctly and get all their deductions.
I appreciate you bringing this subject up. Just the costs of living increases are high. They raised my mother's rent at her assisted living by $250.00 per month with a few months notice.🚩 praying for you brother. Thank you for helping us.
If I was 70 no way would be buying a house unless full cash.
@@p.sherman3158 You missed the whole point. It is absolutely the best choice for him because he can deduct ALL of the costs of the house from his MAGI and pay taxes only on what is left.
Ministers need to save foe retirement too and save for a future home purchase.
I didn't say they didn't - of course they do. It's just that it is a lot harder to buy later in life when you've had a church that thought that part of your "salary" was letting you use a parsonage. Pastors should refuse the parsonage and ask the church to give them a housing allowance and that way they can buy their homes before retirement like everyone else.@@brucefredrickson9677
I'm 63 yrs. old and I've also never seen the Wizard of Oz.
Maybe you and I Jade should watch it together!
I just turned 50. When I was a little girl, it was common to have the movie playing on TV at Christmastime. I don't think I actively watched more than a few minutes because it was too strange. My spidey sense went off.
There is a lot of symbolism in the movie.
I never liked it.
Ohhh, so that's why salespeople will so often say "It's only X a month." They have me spotted as poor.
I respond "But the total cost is Y!!!! I can't afford that." Payments "per month" make the total cost a lot more, interest. Forget that.
Paid for my new/used car in full.
2010 Toyota Camry with 150,000 miles $9,000. but a friend of mine has a Camry with 200,000 miles and no problems. She recommended I buy it.
BTW I'd had an accident with my previous car and totaled it. The insurance money on that was $12,000. I MADE money on this deal. (Went onto my mortgage. I have no other debts. I'm only on baby step 2, saving $1,000 here and there.)
Use the bluff. The best way to get dirtball contractors off your back say: "Let me contact the state attorney general's office and see what they say". That will get them to back off. Worked with a furnace contractor that didn't want to honor the 10 year warrantee. Got my furnace fixed for free.
I have called the AG on someone too. Worked like a charm.
Jade would dig on "Dark side of Oz"... Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" as the soundtrack...
Geeeez Jade's hair looks amazing!
Actually The Wizard of Oz is all about money. Gold and silver standard, etc etc.
Provide his business name and I'll go crazy with the negative reviews. I have nothing but time for people who are crooks!
I absolutely love Coltons support system 🎉

S/o to Colton. A legit deft free scream! 🎉
Colton congratulation! I love how he was so precise… to the cent! To the 31 months. When I see this, stating the debt to the last cent means he has a hold of his money. I see people in the show that are so vague… not knowing exactly what they make or what they owe. I got a lot of work ahead of me.
🇨🇦 Im 75. Ive never seen Wizard of Oz, have never heard about a "flying monkey." Comin' to the party.🐒
I had a very similar experience with a roofing company.
That last caller, I was also thinking air mattress! Even if she got an actual mattress, it would be on the floor
My guess is Colton works for Wella, and they just got some free advertisement.
Dave at 37:30 🤣😂
For the guys talking about starting a business…. Big Wehales aren’t going to hire you with no experience running your business yourself
Who knows if we die earlier than our parents...
Hubs and I bought a brand new fridge, stackable washer/dryer and stove (bought used at first and all broke close together ha) but got all for around $3k! You know why, we didn’t get fancy! So Amy from Charlotte, can totally buy these three things for that and also a good mattress can get for like $700 for a king. So they $5k Dave was saying to use, you can make that money go far girl 👍
I bought appliances in the scratch and dent section. Got a beautiful stove for a third of the price because it had a chip in the enamel. Minor cosmetic flaws don't change the efficiency of the appliances.
Erin and Melissa impressive! Mind blowing how she stated to the cents the debt they paid! They proved how the savings helped them through the worst of life. I love the way they live so simple congratulations!
Colton gives me hope in the future.
Man! I’m on the Coltan train. What an amazing human!

I’m with Jade!! I’ve never watched the Wizard of Oz either because I thought it was weird.
Cleaning it sucked, but I snagged a cheap refrigerator on FB marketplace
If you want to understand the way the world really works and explain the situation we are all finding ourselves, watch The Wizard of Oz and comprehend the message the movie is communicating. “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”
I can't watch The Wizard of Oz since seeing the biographical film about Judy Garland. The abuse she endured from the movie industry ultimately killed her.
Love the sax
What does the caller mean when she says "we're having trouble staying in the flow"?

Why Dave not told lady contact credit bureau and fight charges as fraudulent rather than paying attorney
Just because some would want to get 1% cash back, does not mean they will spend more just to get it.
That's an old tired argument.
It’s the pain factor. Credit card, debit card…folks spend more when it’s not physical bills in one’s hands.
@@dianeathoacardinalridge8788 All of those studies were flawed.
