The difference was that Duke with Laettner won back to back championships and Laettner made some clutch shots and he won the player of the year in 1992. Many of which are the greatest at their positions, popularity wise it is not the greatest sport. The most played sport is soccer because all you need is a soccer ball thats why kids in africa play soccer, you just use two trees as a goal and all you need is a cheap little ball. Greatest sport in america right now is definitely football without a doubt. But there is NO team that is even CLOSE to the Dream Team.

What's really great is that they didn't merely win in dominant fashion. They gave the world a taste of what could be done with a basketball, and in so doing they elevated the entire game. Players all over the world had their games changed for the better as a result of playing this team.
