      Yes, I changed my mind since making that post, I am just about finished with the Assassin's trilogy and will read the live ship trilogy before the Tawny man. I will probably read either Moving pictures or the first of the Dresden files novels before going into the live ships, just to clean my reading palate. I have all of the books in this series except the Rain Wild Chronicles, which I might never read.

    I'm so excited you made this! There can never be enough of them. And I know they're incredibly helpful to a lot of people and you did such a good job with it. I agree its very hard to top and as a trilogy I don't think it can be, however I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on certain books of Fitz and the Fool. I gave my two cents on the reading order in my own videos. Thank you for mentioning the triggers! I've had so many people tell me I was the first person who mentioned them in videos about this series and I think its so important to mention. I'm in the same boat, found Hobby pre-booktube and a lot of people have found me and picked them up because of me. My brand is Robin Hobb haha. I have only recently begun to read fiction again, after several years of reading only non fiction. The Shadow and Bone series inspired me to read that trilogy and then the Six if Crows duology and on to the King of scars. Finishing that I looked for more of the fantasy stuff I love and Heard of Robin Hobb on the reddit fantasy group.
    I have started with the first FitzChivalry books. I got nos caught by Fitz I went and bought all nine of the books about Fitz. I am about three quarters of the way through Royal Assassin.
    When I finish Assassin's Quest I will decide wether to go straight to the Tawny Man trilogy or to invest in the Live Ship trilogy. I accidentally bought the third book in that series. I have read a bit of it and see that I will eventually have to read that one, as well.
    I have very glad that I have started reading fantasy lit again. I am spending much less time on the computer and smoking considerably less weed, to maintain my short term memory.
    I really love Robin Hobb.

      @@godmathias I just ordered the LS novels. I have been convinced by others that I will regret not reading those in order and have decided to take their advice. I read the first hundred pages of Ship of Destiny, much of which took place in Bington, in the Rain Wilds. I was completely put off by that dismal place, the corrosive river, and the corrosive swamps. But friends told me that the story is mostly seafaring and not in the Rain wilds.

    I'm so scared to get to the Fitz and the Fool trilogy :( Not only because it means I have to cope with the fact that the series is over (and I'm scared of what Hobb will do to my emotions at the end), but also because Mercedes from MercysBookishMusings said that Fool's Fate provides a better ending than Assassin's Fate. I'll probably still read them because they're already on my shelf but I might take my time getting there, haha. On the other hand, I'm excited to jump into Rain Wild Chronicles. I need more Malta :)

    Years back, when I read the Farseer Trilogy, still, to this day, the moment where Fitz realises his past life is over and it's better off without his old identity(especially where his friend and girlfriend go together - don't remember their names, Burrich & Molly), saddens me so, so much. Even, now that I recall it, I get really emotional. Probably, it is due to my difficulty to let go things. Maybe, it is time to read the rest of the books, in a way of moving forward.

    @MartinGorski Před 5 lety

    Robin Hobb is my favorite fantasy author.
    I resisted the Ship Traders Series because I thought the idea of talking ships was ridiculous. However, after I started reading I totally bought in to the concept. Her ability to provide different takes on how magic can be used in her world is amazing.
    That being said, I feel her Soldier Son Trilogy is the weakest of her writing. I liked the idea of a fantasy take on the settling of the American West. In fact, the prologue short story of a young Nevare protecting a native girl hooked me completely! One of the best intros to a protagonist I've read. Sadly, the rest of the story of his time as a young boy/man in the Academy and as a Soldier in the Plains just did not appeal to me.
    My opinion in no way diminishes her ability as a writer. She is fantastic and I would recommend all of her other books. The Soldiers Son Trilogy just wasn't my favorite.

I feel like I will love robin hobb! I feel like it could be interesting to read in publication order but I am afraid that I forget the "fitz journey thing". Would it be spoilery for the fitz and the fool part if I go with the liveship and then the dragons and then the entirety of the fitz and the fool? You really shouldn't continue after Liveship Traders without going back to Farseer then jumping to Tawny Man. After Farseer/Liveships they really begin to build off each other and there will be character overlaps/moments that you'd miss the significance of.
