In the bible, it was Jesus that made the 12 his apostles. No other name under heaven has that authority. The 12 didn't go to school or receive a certification validating they are apostles of Jesus. I'm sure the Word said in Matthew 28:19-20, to go out and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I saw a former gf a few years ago and she was telling me that she and her husband went to a church where their"pastor" claimed to be an Apostle, so it goes on everywhere

I thank God for this channel it truly is a blessing and it’s only opening my heart more to read my Bible and know it to the best way possible.. Great job at starting to read in Matthew. Take your time. Go slow. Read like a chapter a day and reread it a few times and maybe also find a solid pastor like John macarthur or Steve Lawson and see if they have a sermon on what you're reading so you can learn more of what is being said

I don't remember Jesus or the Apostles repeatedly yelling at the possessing spirit over and over again. It was one sentence, a command, and the spirit left the person. No persistent yelling, no fake tongues gibberish, no chasing the person all over the place, just a command to leave the person. How is this deliverance nonsense any different than WoF/Prosperity/NAR evilness and deception for money?

Years ago I was confronting two individuals involved in a cult. I was quoting them from John 1 about the diety of Jesus Christ, when they began to back up from me. So I followed them still telling them God's Word. Then they literally RAN away. Maybe they were possessed, or strongly influenced by devils; but the point is that it was God's unedited word that has the power because it is Jesus.

100% agree on the apostle title. I'm a servant, slave for Jesus, like all of us, and happy about it! That title stuff is way to cocky. Honestly cant believe they have the b@!!& to make titles like they are above others. I think Mark 16 is legit though. We humbly ASK Christ to help us in situations where we REALLY need help and put ALL our faith in him, God can use us to perform those great works. If one is really picking up his cross day to day and staying humble, a servant of the WORD, and giving ALL the praise to God, I think cool stuff like that happens all the time. If you ever got bit by a deadly snake, God can save you. The first thing you should do is pray. All this power as a Christian comes with great responsibility. "leaders" of churches need to be very careful to not let greed get the best of them. Don't underestimate what Christ can do through you! You know if your pleasing him. If your super dedicated to Christ and don't have a personal agenda for profits or fame, Christ can and probably will do amazing things through you. Talk to the Lord all day.
