Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack, Lovebites fans around the world will be along to give you information.
Lovebites are a five piece all female Japanese metal band. They take much of their inspiration from the British and European metal bands of the 70's and 80's such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. One of the founding members, Miho, is a big fan of Steve Harris of Maiden. They were formed in 2016 by Miho and Haruna, who both had been members of an earlier band, Destrose, which broke up in 2015.
The members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained as a Ballet Dancer and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. Writes many of the lyrics and sings in English.
Midori, Guitar. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. She is a body builder and has scored highly in competitions.
Miyako. Guitar, Piano and Keyboards. A classically trained pianist, she composes much of the bands music, often incorporating themes from classical music.
Both guitarists play lead, swapping back and forth lead and rhythm. Their harmonised solos are a wonder to behold.
Haruna, Drums. Nicknamed 'Little BIG Engine' due to her diminutive size, 1.4 meters tall, and her relentless speed and precision over concerts that can be up to near two hours long.
Miho, Bass Guitar. Co founder along with Haruna, Miho left the band in 2021 due to personal reasons. The band then went on hiatus until they recruited a replacement in 2022 in the form of then 20 year old Fami. She has her own YT channel with nearly 700,000 subs.
A few recommendations for further listening. Thunder Vengeance, Judgement Day, M.D.O., Winds of Transylvania (written for a crazy Japanese Anime series Vlad Love) Frozen Serenade, Swan Song with Chopin piano introduction played by Miyako, Edge of the World, Epilogue.
Whatever you choose, if you enjoyed Holy War, I don't think you will be disappointed. I regard Lovebites as one of the best bands I have heard in nearly 60 years of listening to rock and metal. 🤘🐺

LOVEBITES is a five-piece all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 60 songs in their discography. 100% English (except one song from their debut EP, which was in English on the debut LP)! Sometimes not easy to understand. Singer Asami explained once, that she has to put English lyrics on Japanese melodies (although their Heavy Metal is more European). So her pronounciation is at least unusual! She has lived for a while in the US, so her casual English is clearer (I refuse to say better). After some time, you'll understand her better! She uses her voice as an instrument, her first priority is the sound of these lyrics, not their proper grammar!
I love when it is recognized that the voice is an instrument. Definitely love the European sound. I only ever see Japanese bands use the more American sound. And I love it.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
This year in June LOVEBITES‘ first world tour starts in Europe. In September they will play their biggest headline show ever in Tokyo. After that LOVEBITES will have their US debut …

Although they aren't a "Christian band" in the usual sense, they do primarily write positive lyrics in most of their songs, with an emphasis on uplifting your spirit, overcoming obstacles, and changing your future. Asami, the vocalist, has an R&B and Soul background and had never sung metal before joining Lovebites. Midori, the blonde guitarist with the purple guitar, used her love of gospel music to inspire her when she wrote the music to their one song titled "Glory to the World". That musicvideo was recorded 23 of december and the filmmaker wanted to add some Christmas feeling. What a guy with stigma has to do with X-mas only the filmmaker know. Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out, if you haven’t already, is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Their tiny bassist even growls at key moments.

You just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.

Greetings from an old Spanish wolf.
These ladies are wonderful. I saw their first videos six years ago and automatically became a member of the wolf pack since then I like them more every day. The M&M duo, out of all range, the two engines Haruna and Fami driving the heavy metal at full speed and Asami as master of ceremonies, kill all the songs. I love them.
And Asami....Too good voice and too beautiful. I am her faithful slave.
They rock. I love them. High power.
The best metal band on the planet today. Not a bad song. Epic musicians. Epics Vocals. Epic guitar solos. For a guitar solo clinic, give Scream For Me a spin.
Asami sings it all in english but she has a thick Japanese accent. I think she's great! Well, the whole band is great! If you're into that God thing, maybe their "Glory to the World" should be your next reaction! Christianity is NOT big in Japan though.

Lovebites wrote their songs and sang in English. However, English is not her natural tongue so her vocal has a heavy accent. But no one can deny the technicality and range in her singing.

With Lovebites I believe it's all english. Worry not man, from this side of the looking glass Asami has a certain accent your ear has to get used to, and there's often the odd rhythmic construction which almost always happens, I'm guessing because of the intent through the translation. These ladies are nothing short of amazing and I think, as with many before and those yet to come, you're going to love what you find.

In the past, the metal gods almost always appeared before us as sometimes really questionable-looking guys dressed in black. Today they honor us in the form of 5 beautiful Japanese women, dressed in white and heels. 😇🤘🏻And yes, it's frightening and admirable at the same time how some of these ladies/bands show, not only musically, what's 'wrong' with us here in the west. 🤭

Christianity is not big in Japan. Its around 1% and it is actually going down. It used to be 2%. Biggest religion in Japan is Shinto, which is a local, nature related, religion with lots of deities, related to the sun, water etc. Also lots of demons. Next biggest is Buddhism. Moreover, Lovebites is not religious even if they have a song or two that sounds religious. They are much for building your spirit up though and that you are in charge for what you do so better do something good with your life. Note that both Nemophila and BAND-MAID have similar vibes regarding to lyrical content.
